  1. All Rovers has to do is say no. The buck stops firmly with them
  2. Doesn't surprise me either. What was it Jimmy612 was saying that Park should be sacked if we haven't lined up replacement options?
  3. If we sell him to Bournemouth, only one person will have screwed us over, Tony Mowbray. Less so if he goes to a PL team but I still wouldn't sell £2-£4m weighed up against a minimum £190M over 3 years (Inc parachute payments even if we came straight back down.
  4. The only caveat to that is that the money Neil would have been on and the money these three will have been offered will bear no resemblance whatsoever to each other in comparative terms. Still think Lucash was a greedy barsteward and completely out of order.
  5. If you didn't laugh you'd cry.
  6. On Bournemouth very much the latter I suspect given the sums allegedly involved.
  7. Sorry, I think that's rubbish. If he still here Tuesday he HAS to perform for the rest of the season or he won't get his dream deal at the end of it either here or elsewhere. The other thing Is that the ONLY thing that matters Is that we are promoted in April People are mentioning missing out on money for him but I doubt if any fee for Rothwell would be anywhere near this mythical £6m mentioned. If we miss out on £1m £2m or £4m so what? Better than scuppering any chance of promotion. If we wanted the money we should have sold him at the start ofvthe window.
  8. Yep. Think it's been done for a day or two.
  9. With what's at stake come April I wouldn't out him in the media or sell unless an equivalent or better replacement had already been secured. Even then I'd rather stick with the tried and tested. Most managers would be annoyed if their Club's owners were selling their best players from under them. Mowbray seems to be annoyed we aren't flogging off our best players. If Rothwell's still here Tuesday he's no option but to knuckle down.
  10. Don't be so rational Glen. Where can we build the effigy of Rothwell to burn before the next home game if he's still here?
  11. Can't disagree with any of that albeit my preference would be to stick with the tried and trusted that has got us this far.
  12. We don't know what's happened exactly, if all that is happened is he's asked if he can speak to another Club he's not in breach of his contract. If the Club said no, and he's gone ahead and done it anyway that would be different.
  13. I didn't take his comments to mean they had specific targets in mind, I took it he was referring to a hypothetical situation.
  14. Fair enough. Problem solved.
  15. Why is it gross misconduct to request if you can speak to another Club? It's not even a stackable offence to refuse to play. You'd have to dock wages initially.
  16. It seems there's been late interest in the player. The timing of that isn't Rothwell's fault. I agree it's down to Mowbray to gauge whether his head is in it but I can't for the life of me see the sense in hanging him out to dry, we might not be able to get a replacement at such short notice and/or he may still be here Tuesday morning.
  17. Yes if he said he couldn't guarantee 100% commitment. What would you do if he gave the hypothetical answer I laid out?
  18. Pretty much. Great Post. Obviously if a replacement(s) for Rothwell came in that theoretically looked as good or possibly better it need not necessarily be fatal. Even then however given a choice I'd rather go with the players that have got us to this situation in the first place than gamble on new recruits who may not hit the ground running or gel with the rest of the team at all.
  19. The problem you see there is that we don't know Rothwell has said anything of the sort. For all we know Rothwell's answer to that would be "Sorry lads my agent informed me a late bid had come in for me so I asked the boss if I could speak to the Club in question at which point he decided not to select me for the game or allow me to travel down on the team coach. That's fair enough if he thought my head might not be in the right place but you know I'd always give 100% if selected."
  20. So you'd let him go even if it was logistically impossible to get anyone else in in time would you? Will you be booing him if he's still here Tuesday morning?
  21. Like he has said or would say that. Come off it den. Edit: Equally hypothetically if his answer was "Absolutely boss, without a shadow of a doubt" What do you do then?
  22. Thanks for clearing that up Gav. Me too.
