The Ryan Nyambe Appreciation Thread
RevidgeBlue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Ha ha, could you imagine how gutted Nyambe would be if that happened? Anyhow, cautiously optimistic about this surprise development...... not convinced Mowbray's off until the Club make some official announcement on the matter but it would be a fantastic boost if Nyambe and Lenihan end up staying. Fuck off Mowbray, welcome back Ryan. -

How did we know that was going to happen................ Also get your tame journo at the LT to randomly name drop Woodgate's name into the mix and all of a sudden good old Tone looks a lot more attractive. Like I said the other day, I wanted to know what the odds for the devious old bastard Mowbray were.

I like Stelling but he's hardly any room to talk based on that clip with his shirt open to the navel. All he's missing is the blingy medallion that looks like a bar of chocolate. Not sure why he's laying into Ainsworth for no reason based solely on his appearance - perhaps he isn't represented by the right agency. I actually like Ainsworth's appearance -part of his appeal - a refreshing change from conforming to the boring norm these days but at the end of the day we need a manager that can win Championship football matches not just Ozzy or Bruce Dickinson from 35 years ago. That should be the only consideration.

Unless they'd had some sort of prior understanding that Mowbray's future would be discussed at the end of the season. Don't forget in January the expectation would have been that we would have been in the play offs minimum and they extend well beyond the end of the regular season. Far be it from me to defend Waggott who probably can't lie straight in bed but if they wanted him gone I can't see why the Club haven't just put out the standard "Thanks for your service statement". after Mowbray beat them to the punch. Regardless of whether Waggott is sulking in a corner somewhere and whether or not they'd communicated their decision to him is irrelevant. Mowbray has in that case taken the decision out of their hands by indicating he's leaving and has saved them a job.

Before we get too giddy with statements about how we'd rather keep Mowbray than have X Y or Z etc let's just remind ourselves of the last 19 (or half a season's League results). L W D L L D L W L D L W L D D L L W L Seventeen points from nineteen games or the equivalent of 34 points over a full season. And all that from a team that had previously had enough raw ability to get into 2nd.

I'm still waiting, but unfortunately Mowbray, Waggott, Cheston, Venus, Lowe Park and Benson haven't floated by just yet.........

Weird situation. That would tend to suggest either that they hadnt actually made a final decision on Mowbray's future and the devious old bastard caught them on the hop with his comments and they don't know what to do now, or that Waggott is going as well against his will and is sulking in a huff somewhere. The latter still wouldn't preclude the Club from putting out the usual generic statement thanking him/them for their service though. Did Miller say it was the end of season awards (Ha!) tonight? I hope anyone unfortunate enough to have forked out on a ticket for same does not let Waggott off the hook.

Heaven forbid. I've been of the view all season he'd be leaving at the end of his contract but given the circumstances of Mowbray's comments before the Bournemouth game, the longer we have radio silence from the Club the more worried I am that the first utterance from them on the subject will be Waggott saying it's all been a bit of a misunderstanding and they're still hopeful of persuading Tony to extend his stay. The champagne I put on ice in anticipation of official word on his departure is going rather warm.
