  1. Nyambe would be the biggest miss imo. If Wharton comes back like he did pre injury then Lenihan might not be a critical miss in pure footballing terms but you don't really want any of these players who should potentially have been very valuable to the Club walking out for nothing due to the negligence of management and Mowbray's misguided notion that he didn't want to upset the rest of the squad.
  2. The point is though there'll be a lot more of "those matches" as our inept recruitment department failed to bring in any sort of replacement for an outgoing 29 goal striker. Should have been done and dusted within 2-3 days of Armstrong leaving. And, to flip the argument on its head, irrespective of chances missed, the manager cost us the 3 points on Saturday with his negative substitutions. We'll always struggle as long as he remains in charge.
  3. Agreed. I thought Nyambe had a good game yesterday and I wasn't left thinking that either goal was particularly down to him yesterday. Overall I'd say he is our best outfield player, unless you could get Dack back to what he was pre injury that is. Either way he's certainly bottom of our list of problems or top of it if we're talking about the contract situation.
  4. Not read the comments but the cretin of a manager cost us the win today with his appalling substitutions. Individually thought Dolan was brilliant, (but probably wouldn't have been on the pitch had the loanees been available) Buckley was tremendous first half but struggles to last more than 45 mins and Gallagher was absolutely atrocious in the position some people seemingly want to see him. Never won a header all day and why take the ball into the corner when you've a clear chance to set up a goal? MOWBRAY OUT!
  5. Yes but there are injuries and injuries. I.e. recurring but fairly minor ones which wouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker and more serious conditions which would result in the player being unable to get medical insurance. If you want to question however why we are trying to do all our business in the last hour of the last day of the transfer window I think that's a valid argument. By doing business in a timely fashion you can overcome any unexpected last minute curve balls and move onto an alternative.
  6. Probably to protect the player.
  7. It has always been that way as far as I can remember. Truly desperate and embarrassing stuff from Waggott.
  8. The article actually says either/or. Bloody ridiculous whichever it is. Used to be a free Country. No idea what skin it is off anyone's nose whether everyone has been vaccinated or not. If the vaccines aren't effective then that isn't the fault of anyone who has chosen not to have them and there isn't any point having them in the first place. If they are effective, then it doesn't matter if someone else hasn't had it as they can't give it you.
  9. That would presuppose we want him back.
  10. I'll pay the petrol!
  11. If something happens imminently the timing would surprise me slightly I must admit. When I put forward the view that things were about to improve over the next 12 months I didn't think they'd happen that quickly! I don't think he sees out his contract no matter what. Coyle and Bowyer got the push when they looked like they were taking and might take us down respectively.
  12. Don't think that's earth shattering news if I'm being honest. As your good self and I suggested towards the end of last season the plan apparently was to replace him but for whatever reason it fell through. Nice to see Nixon catching up about four months later. Now however, we are where we are, and my guess would be if we don't look like we're going down in this transitional sort of season he might well get to see his contract out. If there's no sign of those contracts being signed or if someone they previously fancied has come back and changed their minds though, who knows? Can't happen soon enough for me. The sooner the better. We might save a few quid not paying him off but in footballing terms we'd be treading water at best for another 12 months.
  13. Don't be childish Gav.
  14. Yes,I know it's not the fault of the staff on the ground but the original point stands. Don't promise something you can't deliver.
  15. Wasn't aware of that, I'll bow to your knowledge of quantum physics.
  16. What views do those who follow the under 18's and Under 23's have of the internal promotions of Mike Sheron and Ryan Kidd to replace the outgoing Billy Barr? Well deserved promotions or the cheap option?
  17. To be fair, not even the Club have attempted to come out this time and insult everyone's intelligence by suggesting this was a good window or that it went the way they would have wanted.
  18. However, on the pitch we continue to flounder, the recruitment appears to be a joke and most of our better players look set to walk out for nothing at the end of the season. Someone must be right and someone must be wrong.
  19. Drives me crazy when people say Mowbray has been "hampered by his circumstances." They're ENTIRELY of his own making! How many football league managers would have given their right arm for the sort of backing Mowbray's had since he's been here? The majority I'd guess. Also whilst it's not a competition, how long have you been supporting the Club? I doubt many pre Jack Walker supporters who have seen the Club perform well on the pitch under far more testing financial circumstances would be that impressed by the last three seasons.
  20. Have never heard anything about mine either. Just a little thing, but another example of how badly the Club has been treating the supporters. You do a bit to help them with a little bit of extra revenue when they need it and they don't deliver on what they promised.
  21. Yes, unbelievably the incredible bland Sharpe was getting pelters on the LT website earlier. After writing a completely non judgmental piece on the transfer window he dared to suggest in the last two or three lines that the current policy of bringing in loans and failing to tie our own players down on deals could come back to haunt us in 12 months time. Many suggesting his articles were clickbait to get people to read them! Quite astonishing. I generally find his articles so boring as to be not worth reading as they're just repeating what Mowbray or Waggott have said without any independent analysis or opinion.
  22. All sorts of things I think.
  23. It's more morale with the non playing staff within the Club that has been at absolute rock bottom I'd say. A very unhappy and divided camp by all accounts. No prizes for guessing which 3 or 4 staff have been on the right side of the divide until now.
