  1. Wednesday 1 up at Leicester and deservedly so.
  2. For me Sheff U made a very strange choice of manager - at least Wilder has bags of experience won promotion previously and has been there done that and got the T shirt. In most seasons they'd have gone up automatically with their points tally. Not sure if the new man has ever achieved anything. Reading a BBC article it seems part of the reason for Wilder's departure was his refusal to go all in on the current obsession with data led recruitment and new AI technology for same whereas the new guy made a point of making a point of how it needed to be embraced. Worked well yesterday didn't it!
  3. Probably wouldn't happen but it would be nice if we could have a game on Sky where our fans didn't come in until the 15th minute to symbolise Venky's 15 years of ownership.
  4. There'll be no-one there but the game has now become quite important in the context of the season. We need to show some fluidity, put in a decent performance and win to build a bit of momentum. A few goals wouldn't hurt either.
  5. There was another Rovers fan called Carl who phoned in Talksport last night on his way home from the Hawthorns who was also seemingly quite content with what he saw. I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing imo if we were to play like that all season we'd be guaranteed to go down, probably with a record low goals tally for a 46 game season. Im sure we'll improve a bit, we couldn't possibly be that bad every game. The question is, will we improve enough. It sounded as though another Rovers fan phoned in with the opposite view to Carl later on but I only caught the very end of that one.
  6. Agreed. And worryingly the 3 stooges seemed to double down on him being "the outstanding candidate" during the car crash interviews so would they even want to ditch him if needed?
  7. Don't disagree with your overall point but if missing out on the play offs when the Club were in the top 6 when you took over is judged a success - Im in the wrong job!
  8. If that's his intention he's going to have to pull his socks up big time!
  9. Ah OK. Odds are they're still heavily involved then. We had that ridiculous conflict of interest situation didn't we a few years ago when it was in the best interests of the Club to offload Smallwood and whether Mowbray did or didn't want to get rid, the fact they were both represented by HSH was far from ideal.
  10. Tbf I was under the impression they'd lost a few for big fees. They're another Club with an American owner and the Bournmouth fans would appear to be delighted with everything he's done at the Club since he's been there.
  11. Im not judging it based solely on one game, Im basing it on his 13 games since he's been here. I saw yesterday as a continuation of what happened last season. I might be proved completely wrong. Who knows. Let's hope so. The Forum would be a boring place if you didn't or couldn't pass an opinion until after something had actually happened.
  12. Squad overloaded with midfielders and bereft of attacking options both in terms of numbers and quality.
  13. Wasn't Travis's best game yesterday but I thought he was the only one of the midfield who showed any heart or aggression. Showed how we'll be in even more trouble if we sell imo.
  14. It's a good job no-one is accusing him of being involved in the Great Train Robbery then! Completely disagree Mike. I think John (O2G) is a really nice guy and Im sure everyone who meets him will say the same. Nevertheless I dont see how that stops anyone from being able to disagree with him occasionally. I've complained in the past ( and received flak in the past from K Hod) about the apparent lack of resistance to Waggott just saying "Wont" "Can't" "Wasn't aware" or "We'll look into it" to everything at the meetings. According to the official minutes no-one said a dicky bird in response. I can only assume that everything that was said in the meetings wasn't recorded. Now it would appear from the last meeting that in the originally agreed minutes, not only have did we have large chunks which would have painted the Club in a bad light omitted, but embellishments that weren't said added to make the Club sound better. I.e. Pasha supposedly saying "sustainable but with the overall aim to becoming a viable Premier League Club" as opposed to just "sustainable" which was what GM and DM claim. If wondering why this appears to have happened is "a witch hunt" then I'll run down to the shops now and get my pointy hat. We've learnt more from this one meeting than we have from years of Waggott stonewalling questions. But none of it would have come out had GM and DM not dug their heels in about the minutes. If O2G thinks anything said on this thread is factually incorrect or correct but unfair because there's a valid reason for it Im sure he'll give his side upon return from holiday.
  15. Still deeply unconvinced by this bloke. On the evidence so far, looks like he can't get a result when it REALLY matters and can only get one when it doesn't. Comes in. Takes him one full game and about eight minutes of the Derby game to unravel a season of Eustace's good work. Various defeats follow, all involving conceding the opening goal inside the first 20 mins and often far earlier than that. After five successive defeats and a 2-2 draw at home after being 0-2 down at HT, season looks well and truly over. 5 wins, (in what at the time seem to be dead rubbers) follow, which impossibly actually leave us with a mathematical chance of scraping into the play offs on the final day. Final game against a weakened Sheff Utd side we go ahead after about an hour. All of a sudden it REALLY matters again. All we have to do is hang on for the win. But....we concede relatively quickly and the season finally peters out. Yesterday it REALLY matters again, new season, and therefore every point vital. We go back to the previous MO of conceding inside the first 20 mins and thereafter barely laying a glove on the opposition. Really unbalanced squad, no sign whatsoever of the exciting pressing football he allegedly favours. Have to say at this point Im not having him.
  16. Don't think it's as much any one agent in particular now but given the chance as a collective they'll suck the life blood out of you.
  17. I must have been watching a different game. Other than the penalty which the referee got wrong ( and I dont suppose we'll be complaining when we get a soft one) I didn't think he did much wrong at all. Nor did I think it was an overly physical game. It's not a non contact sport yet, at least not in the Championship. Have we turned into a team of whingers like Arsenal under Wenger?
  18. The season's a day old and Im already sick to death of highlighting the chronic lack of firepower in the squad. I was starting to think I was living in a parallel universe with many others saying "Nah, we'll be ok., we only play with one striker, so we've got enough, we just need another midfielder who can double up on the RHS and more centre back cover!" Feel somewhat vindicated after yesterday, we were even more toothless than I expected. Actually thought West Brom were pretty poor, a really good side would have put us well and truly to the sword. At least two half decent strikers needed to supplement the likely output from Ohashi and Gueye imo plus a decent RW to replace Dolan. Not even sure if LW is satisfactory either tbh, De Neve looks miles off the required standard (very strange signing) and I still have the same view on Kargbo that I had within the first 30 mins of watching him play that he has pace but negligible end product. The manager worries me greatly. Has assembled a very unbalanced squad and when are we going to see this high intensity pressing football he allegedly favours? Yesterday couldn't have been more slow and pedestrian if you'd tried and whenever we picked up the ball in the opposition half yesterday the ball invariably went sideways and backwards a couple of times. Great in press conferences but on the basis of the 13 competitive games we've seen from him I think we're being sold a pup.
  19. In my view not, but, there's an offshoot of Kentaro HSH based in Middlesbrough run by a former Kentaro guy Craig Honeyman which has clearly had heavy links to the Club up until recently especially when Mowbray was here. Think they represented him as well.
  20. Your knowledge of the Club is more or less unrivalled Parson therefore I find it very depressing that you're seemingly so accepting of mediocrity (or worse). Why is it " no disgrace" to finish in the lower half of the table? If you're happy with that there's no point carrying on, might as well turn the lights off and lock the gates for good. As you're well aware we've competed and finished far better than that in the pre Jack days albeit under better but much poorer owners and dare I say it, better managers.
  21. Why what's he done other than overhit several crosses?
  22. Not wanting to have a go at you in particular, but can we stop this boring shite about "It's all the ref's fault" - season's barely any hour old. Are we going to have to put up with it all season again? We look absolutely horrendous. That's why we're losing.
  23. Nothing whatsoever wrong with their goal. Should have had a pen for the Ohashi incident.
