  1. Sorry to hear about Appleton's medical issues but he was atrocious whilst manager here.
  2. There's a Covid related closure at the Academy I think, that may be the issue. Could be a lot more specific in our press release though.
  3. I don't think there's anything wrong per se with Mowbray's purported footballing philosophy (which he fails to reproduce on the pitch.) He just isn't the man to implement it. There's no future going back to hoofing it long to a target man imo. We only finished 15th playing like that as well.
  4. Maybe he's still angling for the sack, and by that I mean being released with a full pay off for the year remaining on his deal. Have to say that by coming out with comments like "I don't look at the League table" and "I let the players decide on their fitness" he must be sailing perilously close to the wind to the owners being able to sack him summarily without compensation for gross misconduct.
  5. Wharton looked the business when he came in pre injury and Magloire hasn't had the chance to show what he can do here. Overall though I agree with you. I've never agreed with this "He's a good 'un let's loan him out" type sentiment. If they're good enough, we want them in our squad. If they're not good get rid. Over the years we've had numerous players hanging round indefinitely without ever featuring like O Sullivan.
  6. I admire your confidence. I think there's a fair chance we could go down WITH Armstrong with this bloody manager at the helm, let alone without him. Fair point about his potential level of commitment. I'd rather sell him for £3m in Jan having hopefully secured enough points to make it unlikely we'll go down than this summer though
  7. I know. I was just saying that sometimes there are players who are indispensable given your current situation such as Armstrong or Dack pre injury and players who are decent and who you'd like to keep but who could realistically be replaced like Lenihan. I'd push the boat out for the former Category, not so much the latter. Would you consider it worth it overall banking a net £6 or £7m for Armstrong, attempting to replace him on the cheap, the replacement not hitting it off, and us going down?
  8. I don't really agree with that. I'd say there is quite a differential between a striker who's just scored 29 goals and Lenihan who hasn't really improved, instead some might say he's regressed. I think you have to judge each player on their merits and I certainly wouldn't be chucking the kitchen sink at Lenihan in terms of wages. Long term I'd sooner Nyambe stayed at the Club than him if you had to choose between one or the other.
  9. Don't think we did unless you can provide a source to the contrary.
  10. The only difference is that we have owners who don't absolutely need the money if push comes to shove. We should still be running along relatively sensible business lines though wherever possible and your second paragraph is of course spot on.
  11. Maybe it's a case of the owners stepping in and taking matters out of the hands of Waggott and Mowbray. Bit too late in the specific case of Armstrong but hey ho.
  12. He won't be going anywhere then. Good news for us. (For a while at least) Long term we've still been screwed over by the incompetence of Waggott and Mowbray yet again.
  13. It's not what he WANTS Chadster, it's what he expects based on last season and what is likely to happen between now and the end of the transfer window. I have to say I'm surprised you appear to have completely erased last season from your memory banks and appear to be basing your optimism that a top 6 challenge is feasible on the assumption that certain players can or will suddenly start performing in a manner they have failed to do previously.
  14. What a great post from JH Rover. He's absolutely nailed it. The season hasn't even started yet and already I can't bear to listen to Mowbray. "The Registration embargo caused us to miss out on targets". Christ. We knew this could be a potential problem months ago hence the statement on the Club website stating it'd be sorted. Which it was - but only at the very last minute. How's about organising your affairs such that you don't cop a registration ban and can sign players early in the window then? Treating everyone like absolute idiots again already.
  15. Yes I would have thought that should be the case. In latest news, Mickey Mouse spotted wearing a Macron Shirt.
  16. Is that normal? Should it not arrive completely ready to go?
  17. Don't see why not. MACRON are in breach of their supply agreement before the relationship has even got off the ground. We should have given them the choice of either allowing us to use last season's kit until the new one is ready to use or we hammer them with a penalty clause. If Waggott bothered to insist on one that is.
  18. Exactly. Somewhat convenient many might say.
  19. What an absolute shit show. Having to be bailed out by a non League side. We're meant to be a professional Club in the second tier of English football. So: Extortionate match day prices Season ticket prices raised during a pandemic The Brockhall fiasco New pitch promised which never came to fruition Edit: Young fans excluded from a Club mural No kit to play in The list of fiascos gets longer and longer. Come on Venky's - sort this rabble down at Ewood out! Please!
  20. Think it was Paul Mani who said at least 12 months ago he was rated behind the scenes as the best of the youngsters. Seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth since then.
  21. Always said that Mowbray was a good 'un!
  22. Will be ignored or loaned out as soon as the serious action starts and we have bought another four or five loanees in then.
  23. Slightly harsh, has signs of ability, just umpteen years past his sell by date. Think he's well behind Evans and Bennett in the crapness stakes. No way whatsoever he should have been offered a new deal though.
