  1. So we're taking lectures on how Mowbray is being unfairly criticised from someone who's boycotting? Makes sense.
  2. That's good. If that doesn't make people sit up and take notice and crack on, nothing will. Was the banner actually placed there or is it a photoshopped picture?
  3. I don't remember telling you anything of the sort in 2012 and 2015 but if you'd care to be more specific about what I allegedly said to you either on here or via p.m. then I'm prepared to stand corrected. I also think your last paragraph is completely uncalled for but you're entitled to that opinion if that's what you think. What is it you don't believe, that certain people haven't actually held what on the face of it appear to be constructive talks with the Club and we're making it all up or are you saying for a fact they've been lied to?
  4. Hopefully it doesn't involve Tony Mowbray or Steve Waggott though!
  5. You're like the character in the Fast Show who changes his mind every time anyone says something different. You were staunchly pro Mowbray long after most of us had seen through him then you finally changed your mind towards the end of last season and were adamant he had to go, now you seem to be warming to him again.
  6. Give over. I haven't imagined it.
  7. Much as I can't stand Mowbray I think that would be a very different proposition to making it into the top 6 in January.
  8. As I said to Roversfan 99 I'm almost certain it was in the LT and no, I don't have the relevant article to hand.
  9. 1st one, it's hope, obviously can't guarantee anything will happen but it's not blind optimism, it's based on specific information. 2nd one, is not an accurate comparison. Venky's do have the money to pay the bills and "avoid the house from being repossessed". They also however pay Waggott and Mowbray a princely sum to ensure the budget is managed in a proper way and we do not fall foul of any relevant regulations. If you were to say they should have kept a much closer eye on it and nipped things in the bud a lot earlier I'd say that was fair comment.
  10. Even if you took his quote literally then the answer is still "no". Even if we were somehow in the top 6 by January (which we aren't now btw) history shows us we won't maintain that in the second half of the season under his stewardship. And that's before you even get on to the financial mess he has got us into and the situation with the out of contract players. So no,it wouldn't be logical to give him a new contract in January.
  11. At best. I'd expect to see significant changes at the end of this season and things moving very much in the right direction by the end of next.
  12. I'd definitely have to take issue with you there.
  13. I'm fairly certain the comments were in the LT. I don't have them to hand.
  14. Gav, I think you need to start coming to terms with the fact that the owners have no intention whatsoever of going anywhere for the foreseeable future and that therefore from a financial point of view we definitely will not suffer the same fate as Derby County. You may see that as a negative. I see it very much as a positive. The financial support will however continue to go to waste until they get the right manager in and the right people to run the Club on the ground and the right advice from all quarters that should be the focus of everyone's efforts imo.
  15. He admitted he didn't offer improved deals to the players in question at the appropriate time as he didn't want to upset the rest of the squad so it is 100% his fault imo.
  16. We ain't finishing top 6 or even top 10 if Mowbray stays imo. If he is allowed to see out his contract (and I have no idea whatsoever why he would be allowed to do so other than save a few pennies) then I would keep any spending in January to a minimum and allow more funding for a new man next season. It's still more important and economical in the long run to secure the futures of the soon to be out of contract players imo.
  17. A manager that has allowed all our better players to get almost to the point of being able to walk out for free, and who has, but for the financial juggling with the STC and the Armstrong sale, almost landed us in severe difficulties with FFP? All the while whilst failing to crack the top 10 let alone the top 6? Are you mad, man?
  18. People's frustration is understandable but..... 1) We are not dead. Very far from it in fact. 2) I know many people will disagree but imo a Club being run badly is not reason for the footballing authorities to intervene. They almost might as well stick their oar in if a Club was doing too well and upsetting the applicant if that was the case.
  19. He doesn't need to be "sacked" at the end of the season, his contract expires then anyway. If a decision has (hopefully) already been made he is not to be awarded a new contract I agree completely there is no sense whatsoever in stringing things out.
  20. Yep. Hughes and Tom Finn I'd go for.
  21. It's a great point. Imo it's down to the owners being too lenient with people who win their trust as opposed to the conspiracy theory bollux we had 10 + years ago though. I certainly wouldn't mind if we ended up with HSH client Mark Robins either.
  22. Im guessing you're being sarcastic in which case, don't be childish. It's perfectly legitimate for the LT to report the story as the allegations were made but that doesn't automatically mean there 's any substance to them. Why are you raking up non stories from 10+ years ago? If you want to criticise the owners there's a mountain of stuff you can legitimately go at surrounding their running of the Club over the years without descending back into the conspiracy theory nonsense.
  23. Can't open the link. Is it the text where he's alleging they were made an offer of 80% to pay off their contracts. With all due respect to Salgado/ Nelsen et al I I don't think it's as sinister or straightforward as he is making out as under John Williams we had a raft of players in their 30's on ludicrous contracts who only had to play about 15 games to be guaranteed a new deal for the following year and obviously we had to get out of that cycle.
  24. And what was the outcome of said investigation? I mean heaven forbid the employee in question had actually been sacked for stealing and was making stuff up. We haven't a clue one way or the other. But never mind it's an excuse to throw some mud around.
  25. I'm the last person to defend Waggott but what was it he allegedly said ? "Tony made some bold calls with his job on the line". ? That's would hardly be a major surprise or giving away any state secrets after a record 0-7 home defeat, a desperately disappointing season last time out and all the better players moving nearer to being out of contract would it? Depending on the context of the conversation he could have been saying how well Mowbray had done and might not personally be in favour of moving him out. I doubt he has any real say in the matter anyhow other than give his opinion. They both have to go if we're to move on. Now would actually be a good time to do it with us in a reasonable position in the table. I see Miker above is already saying '"give him until the end of the season". If we do that, this season will be wasted, there's a fair chance next season will be another waste and surely the only faint chance of retaining the out of contract players lies in bringing in a manager and CEO they really believe in.
