  1. Yep, no Brittain and Hedges at RW. The only thing the opposition LB will need is a deckchair.
  2. Yeah, there's no way on earth anything like that could ever happen. *Cough* (Mcguire)
  3. What's your view on him in comparison to Brittain? Upgrade or downgrade? (if it happens)
  4. I was thinking exactly this this afternoon. Every single transfer window since the Court case I get more and more despondent about the Club. The likes of Dolan and Brittain are nowhere near the best players to leave the Club. It's nowhere near a Shearer or Duff or Adam Wharton moment, hell it's probably no nowhere even near a Tony Field or a Roger Jones or a Simon Barker moment. However the plan now seems clearly to be to shed all higher earners and scour the lower reaches of European Leagues or any other League where players are paid a fraction of what they are in the Championship and are therefore still happy to come. If we can do this and remain competitive in the top half of the table or even just about survive it's a stroke of genius but as Herbie says "but..........". When you've got to the stage where the Club isn't prepared to offer competitive enough wages to retain the services of decent Championship players like Brittain and Dolan or even tempt a 35 year old centre back or a 34 year old squad player into signing a short term deal, the temptation is as you say to think "Why bother?"
  5. Don't know how many times it needs repeating. Ditto if one of Travis or Tronstad leave.
  6. That would be fine except RG has admitted incoming fees make no difference to the transfer budget.
  7. Fuck me. So our list of potential replacements is/was: Drameh X Al Sahafi X Right Winger - None identified X Baradji X Alleyne X Centre Back cover - None identified X Encouraging stuff
  8. I know nothing whatsoever about it but Im guessing he would prefer to go to Derby and team up with Eustace again, but Boro are offering more or what Rovers want so he might be forced to go there.
  9. If Brittain goes through, Baradji in on a cut price deal, then only Tronstad and Travis to offload and you have the perfect window from Pasha's point of view. Start panicking mid October when we're rooted to the bottom with Wednesday.
  10. But but..... Chaddy said he was staying. 1st X1 further weakened. Only ray of hope is it's O Rourke and he's been way off the mark for a long time concerning Rovers.
  11. Ok. We're going round in circles. The fact that the Club want to loan him out suggests they dont feel he's good enough for their first team. In those circumstances I'd say "the majority of the time" the parent Club would prefer a deal where there's a good chance of selling for a realistic fee at the end of the deal than an out and out loan. In fact maybe the story does ring true. We're probably wanting to loan him with a view to buying him for a half eaten Mars Bar and an empty Coke can at the end of the loan in our usual style.
  12. Quite often when you want them off the wage bill but there's no takers on a permanent basis.
  13. So why dont they play him in their own side if he's that good? Let's see if it happens anyhow. You can be linked with anyone but it's irrelevant unless they actually end up here. Im calling BS on that particular one with the mock up of him in last year's kit as well.
  14. Yes but generally to Clubs below us/them who think the loanee could improve them. Are this Club so far above our level this guy could make a massive difference on loan?
  15. Maybe with the second one, first one, just play him in your own team then! Until it happens as with all transfer rumours involving us I'll take it with a lorry load of salt. If there's any mileage in it though, not for the first time this summer we seem to be seeking a deal completely different from what the selling Club want. "Β£4m ? How does Β£1.5m sound?" "We know we agreed a deal but our medical has uncovered a minor problem that might flare up in future. We'll offer a pay as you play arrangement." "You'll ONLY willing to let him go out on loan? Can we have a loan with a view?" Creates the impression of activity I suppose.
  16. I wasn't overly concerned when Weimann left but the point with him is that he did chip in from time to time and prove himself a very useful squad member and he hasnt been replaced. I was concerned about the prospect of Dolan leaving and he hasnt been replaced either. 14 goals and two senior bodies down from a squad that wasn't exactly freescoring in the first place
  17. Story sounds fake. Why would the selling Club prefer a loan to a loan with a view? You'd have thought it would be the other way round.
  18. The point with Wharton I think is that if we had not been so desperate to shove him out of the door to keep the lights on when we did, there would have been a lot more interest the following summer and we'd have achieved a much better fee. Β£18m was ludicrous given the general state of the market both then and now.
  19. I thought Batth was brilliant for us but a fully fit Wharton is our best CB imo. Would have loved to have seen them play together. Anyone saying Batth isn't a big loss is just being silly imo.
  20. Looked it up. -18.34 %? That's quite a lot.
  21. What's the percentage reduction over the year?
  22. I can't tell whether you're being serious with that post.
  23. This obviously isn't the case here though as we're allegedly trying to get him on reduced terms. I have to say it all sounds a bit smoke and mirrors like to me to create the illusion we're doing something. If Im wrong and we end up signing him, fair play.
