  1. Doesn't get involved enough.
  2. Elliott Bennett used to annoy me no end stinking the place out on the pitch every week then giving it the big 'un after the match. Like most others though, for some reason I can't help but like Gueye even when he's had a shocker. Being Gallagher's replacement probably helps.
  3. rIt's vitally important Travis stays fit for the rest of the season imo, he's developed into a fairly complete player, does the dirty work, drives us forward, niggles the opposition and is always in the officials ear. Notwithstanding that and the potential disruption any injuries at CB will cause I still think the priority acquisition is a striker who can find the back on the net on a reasonably consistent basis. If we have no injuries between now and the end of the season, we're just about good enough to compete in defence and midfield. If we have no injuries up front however we re still not good enough there. That's the key difference and the thing most likely to derail us. Before Saturday I would have said another pacy winger was needed but keeping Duberry fit could also be crucial. In an ideal world of course, we need cover or improvement at CB, midfield, and at least one if not two forward players who know where the net is but hey this is Venky's. I'd settle for one striker/forward who can register 5-10 goals before the end of the season.
  4. Talksport also said that paying compensation for Rohl would be a problem so you would hope the same thing would apply with Eustace. Knowing our lot however..........
  5. Have to hope that's right. I saw an article online claiming he was under very serious consideration for the Wolves job. There must be some underlying reason other than the fact we're doing well that he appears near the top of runners and riders for virtually every job that crops up. Eustace CAN NOT be allowed to leave - at the very least not until the end of the season. The owners are allegedly multi billionaires, if they want to keep him at the Club, they can.
  6. Not sure how we're doing this, we've two strikers who although Gueye showed up well today don't look like they've got a goal in them between them and I didn't think we played all that well but it somehow translated into a relatively comfortable 2-0 win. Eustace is working absolute miracles with this squad. Thought Duberry was by far our stand out performer. It's a shame two of our best players (other one being Beck) belong to another Club.
  7. I was at the game today - Tronstad was completely anonymous first half and had a good second half. Overall he doesn't get involved enough for me. Merry Christmas to you too.
  8. At a quick glance thought it was Jay out of the Inbetweeners.
  9. Not going to disagree with your first statement but whilst Luton seem to have mysteriously fallen off a cliff this season I thought they acquitted themselves fairly well last. There was no end of times they managed to snatch defeat or a draw from a certain looking victory.
  10. Certainly well behind Jones, Bradshaw, Arnold, Gennoe, Flowers, Friedel, Raya.
  11. That picture has clearly been frozen after he'd headed the ball!
  12. Never mind Wednesday I don't understand what the the motivation of some of our supporters trying to take the goal of Gueye is. Not a difficult one for me, Gueye headed it, it brushed the top of the defender's head and went in. It was going in before it made contact with the defender's head so no problem.
  13. I was exaggerating somewhat to illustrate the point. But in all seriousness if they absolutely thumped us at home but we went up ** - who cares? I certainly wouldn't. ** Especially if they didn't.
  14. Have to disagree on that! I look at it the other way round. If you could guarantee automatic promotion now but had to swallow a 0-9 home defeat by the Dingles I'd take it.
  15. Im not really a fan but if he's anything he's a right sided offensive midfielder rather than a FB for me.
  16. His workrate always puts the rest of the team to shame imo. I didn't actually think it was one of his better games last night though. As I posted last night I thought a number of players were well off it yet we still won which hopefully is a great sign.
  17. 2 points ahead of schedule. 16 points would be even nicer than 14. And 17 would be even better than 16. Id tolerate a defeat at Leeds if we could beat our 6 fingered neighbours. Probably put the kiss of death on it now.
  18. Leeds and Sheffield United are currently averaging a jiff over two points a game which is 92 points over the season and can't see them dropping off from that much or it being realistic for us to be challenging for the automatic spots. After fourteen years of nothingness apart from a League one promotionthough, it would be wonderful to finally contest a Championship play off campaign for the first time under this ownership.
  19. Asprilla going to Newcastle as well. Arguably we already have our "Rodney Marsh" in Cantwell.
  20. He needs an improved contract to make him absolutely bomb proof so that if a rival Club comes in for him it will cost them an absolute fortune. He won't get it though I don't suppose.
  21. I didn't realise what he'd done at the time. Incredibly unprofessional but I didn't think he did a great deal whilst he was on the pitch either so hopefully we can manage without him against Luton. The talent is clearly there but he needs to stamp his authority on games a lot more for me. I feel like we're only getting 60-70% from him most of the time. Maybe that's what he's like all the time and there isn't anything else to come but if he could start dictating games then that would be very exciting and would transform our prospects irrespective of the forward line.
  22. Gayle was a lot better than average imo. One of the slightly better players in that side that capitulated at Selhurst Park.
  23. Not really, (I'm assuming the answer is Broughton) do you think Tronstad played well last night? He was completely invisible for me. By no means on his own in having a poor game imo though as I've mentioned and I don't think we can carry on playing like that and winning for very long but for the present we won so hey ho. Eustace continues to squeeze the absolute maximum out of a very poor squad. Long may it continue.
