But the rest of the team see a team mate who is on a (relatively) shit wage, who always puts in 110%, and who (probably) can't get get an increase to what most people in the industry would consider a fair salary for a player of his ability. And that is the way?

Bizarrely a website called transfermkt.com estimate his value at E2.8m. I'd snap anyone's hand off for a third of that. -

Just had a look at King's stats. Surprisingly he's still only 32 and still playing. The ONLY place he's ever done anything however appears to be Bournemouth which would tend to confirm my feeling about him that he had the talent but not the application or character. -
I had to chuckle at that one. Ask a stupid question...... Bravo Sir. No offence Matty.

You weirdly seem to be implying there's some correlation between the two. -

Put into perspective, the net revenue raised from selling those empty 4,500 seats would go a long way to covering the wages of one really good loan player or two middling ones. Good job we don't need the income because we're rolling in money then........... -

Allegedly Jack was fairly annoyed that such a ramshackle thing was erected after he donated the steel for free. -

That was entirely down to King imo. He stunk the place out in general then put a bit of effort in towards the end of his contract when he wanted to put himself in the shop window. -

Bit like Hedges then? -
It was more due to the fact that pre Eustace we were conceding around 3 goals per game with a player in the side who I kept reading was exceptionally good at sniffing out danger. I know it wasn't all his fault and also that a substantial proportion of those goals were due to Wahlstedt throwing the ball in the net. Nevertheless I didn't think anyone emerged with any credit last season apart from AW and SS. Let's see how we go on for the period Travis is missing.

Wasn't aware of that. Guess you have to go with the manager's call on that given how well he's done up to press. Allegedly QPR and a Greek Club were interested in Sigurdsson in the summer. -

Our lot don't like doing any work. -
Errr.......yes because he scored 27 goals and singlehandedly kept us up. I wouldn't say anyone else apart from Wharton came out of last season with any credit whatsoever personally.
-
Again a very well argued post but I really can't go with you on that last bit, I'd argue Hedges has never done anything of note in his entire career and it was fairly predictable he'd come here and carry on in exactly the same vein.

You surely wouldn't want to drop Travis? Player of the season by a mile so far for me. Striker who knows where the net is has to be my priority. Followed by another wide man. Then a CB if the budget allows. Agree on Sigurdsson/Buckley/Hedges. Shame about Buckley. His career has fallen off a cliff. -

OK. Goal(s) plural pushing it a bit then. Eustace wouldn't appear to rate him. -

Like what? -
Do you think he was good last season when we nearly went down?
-
Well argued post. I'm not sure what everyone's obsession with my opinion on Tronstad is tbh. I've always acknowledged that whilst I don't really rate him everyone else does. Who could we replace Dolan with out of the existing squad and "not feel the hit"?

OK I'll grant you he was slightly better than Ennis, Telalovic, Brown, Reg Varney, Watt and Jackson. He's no where near as good as Leon Best prior to his injury. Hirst was terrible here but has done more since he left the Club than Gallagher ever has. Watt, Goodwillie and Samuel I couldn't really differentiate him from. It's not really fair to compare him to Vale who's a youngster who never got a run in the first team. Add Paul Mckinnon to the first list and you've just about covered it. I'd also put Grabbi in there - we were really scammed on that one. Which still makes Gallagher "one of" the worst strikers ever to pull the shirt on imo though. I know we'll never agree on it. -

I was a massive fan of Nyambe but I didn't think he was that quick. Wasn't George Donis meant to be exceptionally quick when we signed him? Then when he got here I didn't notice that at all. -
Good riposte. Don't really understand what enjoyment you derive out of a two way bun fight at best which in recent years has been exceptionally one sided though. Guess you'd have to be a fan of either Club to get it.

Yes. Shearer before his first injury as well. Bellamy? Overall though Id say the exception rather than the rule and that's going back over 50 years. We've never had much pace throughout the side that I can recall.
