  1. That's very, very kind to Pears. He could have stood still and either controlled or picked the ball up. He somehow managed to do neither and danced a jig, as the ball pea-rolled past him. Any GK, at any level, with a basic level of competence stops that first one.
  2. I'd genuinely play Michalski ahead of Pears at this stage. The damage that first goal did can't be measured. He shouldn't play for the first team again.
  3. Horrible. Being demolished by a very, very poor Swansea side. Let's hope we get a manager brave enough to pick our best players for the coming games.
  4. It blows my mind that a few still back him as a proper Championship level first choice GK. He's passable as a 2nd choice, but he's never been anywhere near good enough and never will be. Benefitted from being behind a more organised defence earlier this season, but he's never going to stop being shit. That goal today was worse than anything my U10's side has ever conceded.
  5. Absolutely disgraceful from Pears that. Amateur.
  6. Hedges and Dolan have already almost cost us a goal each with sloppy play. It's just not good enough.
  7. If there was any doubt, the last week or so has shown that Nixon knows bugger all.
  8. Forrest Gump = dump. Could be onto something.
  9. I'm not a fan of Hedges, but in fairness he did his job at WBA really well. Problem being we need to go at Swansea tomorrow - they are there for the taking. Be brave, start Kargbo.
  10. I'm trying to work out how one has a forest in a pub. And how that links to Roberto Di Matteo.
  11. Dyche is a level above us and would want wages we'd never pay. But if there was a slight chance, he'd be incredible for us. Anyone dismissing him because of who he once managed...give your head a wobble.
  12. Final, without a doubt. Can't imagine a much sweeter final win (at this level) than beating that lot at Wembley. Conversely, the defeat would be that much more painful. Would make for a cracking game either way.
  13. Completely agree. Has the know-how and experience, as well as being a very good motivator and man-manager. I saw somebody use his age as a reason why not to get him earlier in the thread. Give me a 70-odd year old man who knows the job inside out over someone who's been managing for 5 minutes. We need experience right now.
  14. Agreed. Some players just seem to 'fit' the club - and early signs suggest that Sanderson is one of them. Really like the look of him.
  15. He didn't. But his agent did.
  16. So, our FA Cup trophy cabinet alone is fuller than their entire trophy room? Their city has a larger population than our town, I'll give them that one. Literally everything else about Rovers is significantly larger than Derby.
  17. Other than Nyambe, I genuinely couldn't name one of them. They're bottom 3 for a reason.
  18. I wouldn't have thought that compensation works like that, surely? Wolves broke the terms of the contract and made him redundant. Gaining employment elsewhere shouldn't have any impact on this compensation. Though I do agree with the final point; I can't imagine we'd be willing to pay anywhere near that level of salary he'd have likely been on.
  19. He definitely looked more comfortable on the right, in the second half. Should have scored that header in the first though, after some good work by Gueye.
  20. To the original point, it did cross my mind towards the end of the game. MoM: Ribeiro Goal: Forshaw Assist: Kargbo Solid at the back: Sanderson The signings definitely played their part today.
  21. To be fair, the first round is apparently Skype-style interviews, so quite possible.
  22. I think we were more cautious/patient under JE - certainly in a game like this. Whereas what we should do (and did do today) is start positive and stay on the front foot. At 1-0, we'd often drop deep under JE and invite pressure; we didn't do that today. In complete fairness, I think we're benefitting from a lot of work JE's team have done this season - our defensive organisation, work off the ball, etc. But Lowe/the coaches have clearly tweaked the match day instructions and it's paid off in these last 2 games.
  23. Genuinely don't think we play like that under Eustace. One of the better performances this season, when we often struggle to break down the lower-placed opposition at home. I was critical of Dolan at HT, but he had a very good second half. Ribeiro is ace. Very good week, credit to all of them.
  24. See the difference with Cantwell when we play at a proper tempo and the players around him are passing and moving? Dolan is so wasteful, ACD not much better. Ribeiro looks like he's been there for years. Get Dennis and Karbgo on for Dolan and ACD and we win this one quite comfortably.
  25. And with most of the teams below us to play, at home. Failed to win a single home game. I got pelters at the time, as we seemingly should have been grateful for him 'keeping us up'. Bollocks. He almost took us down.
