  1. Like Bale being the best paid at Madrid, but doesnt get played? Or Sanchez getting a bumper contract at United, but being loaned to Inter? Or signing a player for over £100m and loaning to Bayern? He gave Mulgrew the contract as a reward, Mulgrew then didnt perform on the pitch. Bad judgement fine, but would anyone rather we continue to play him, just because of the contract he is on? The clubs above arent/didnt with the players they put on big contracts. And thats without mentioning Charlie's recent exemplary social media behaviour. Bad apples wont help the dressing room and shouldnt be tolerated.
  2. £2.5k wage contribution....loan fee significantly more and covering more of his wage but labelled something else
  3. But does that make him world class or potentially world class? No.
  4. Perhaps some have a different definition of world class. Mbappe is a world class young player, ansu fati and greenwood show signs they could be world class. JRC has played perhaps a dozen first team games in the second tier. If we get a solid or better first team player out of him I'm sure all will be delighted, but if he had any indication of being world class, he wouldn't be playing for us.
  5. Great article on ST strategy at the prem teams. Seems about a quarter have not sold any, including Utd, Chelsea Newcastle had City, whilst those who have announced contingency plans for the scenario of not being able to attend are creating a lot of work for themselves. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54019867
  6. I'm surprised they didn't say it was in homage to the 95/96 goalkeeper shirt, that had a track like design
  7. You state this as if it is fact, yet it is widely known that we were on the verge of loaning a Chelsea youngster in Jan but he signed for Brighton permanently instead. That would indicate we do have contact for a Chelsea loan.
  8. Fair enough, I still think Paul Downing was a good signing for the job he was required for.
  9. Do you mean Mowbray and waggott together or individually? If the latter, Dack, Armstrong are unarguable, Smallwood and both Downings did the job they were brought in for.
  10. Whilst I agree with the point being made and think 3rd kits are largely avoidable, given pretty much every team has 3 kits, if we didn't have one what odds some would moan and state we are failing to maximise revenue?
  11. Depending on the percentages allowed, 7k may not even be required. Seen anything from 20 to 40% capacity quoted, based on the lower end, 7K would be more than sufficient. I wouldnt be surprised if the club was banking on having low-ish ST sales, they make more from single match sales and it may be we dont struggle to sell out the limited capacity
  12. For those still damning the club for not selling Season Tickets yet, a well run, huge and successful club have now seen fit to stop selling them over concerns on rules around attendance https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54018069
  13. I didnt say it was the right thing, in my opinion, to be doing. I was providing a logical reason for why the club shop hasnt been opened. I didnt say it shouldnt be open or that it couldnt be opened. Similarly with ST, I can understand why the club hasnt sold any as yet, that doesnt mean I endorse the decision. Trying to understand why something is the way it is, and offering an explanation, doesnt mean you agree with it.
  14. Think its more a business decision. Are they going to pay several members of staff to wait in the shop, which will need to be managed in a COVID secure way, for levels of custom which are likely to be reduced given fans can't attend. Instead, pay a lower number of people to manage our online orders (which I cant imagine are huge volumes) but with the flexibility to bring staff back when volumes increase i.e. when the kits are on sale. Yes it's sad, but I can see why the club shop isn't open for walk ins.
  15. Pole position.... lewandowski is finally going to fulfill his destiny and dream to play for Rovers. At centre back.
  16. Could be because it will be underwhelming. Or could be a signing many thought not possible and so Venkys and TM will get applauded. Can be interpreted either way
  17. Maybe turn out like the last player we picked up from PNE. And yes I know it's only been a few appearances but pretty much a non risk bit of business.
  18. I'm not sure the best negotiation tact is to emphasise the negative of going elsewhere. Clearly, against WBA, the biggest issue is going against PL football and wages. Can't do much on the wage front unless we are promoted, but could always give him a modest PL club release clause from next summer, should we not be promoted.
  19. I fully agree with these sentiments, it's completely unprofessional. However I'd be interested in hearing his side of this, although we're never likely to hear it. TM doesn't seem the type to bomb someone out usually.
  20. White collar. Sticker on the back which isn't straight.
  21. If he doesn't push a story, the LET get crucified for not reporting when is happening and get labelled as unknowledgeable or under the club's control. Publish and it's a case they're advertising so another club gets the player or its pushing a player out. They can't win. I'm sure Kipre's agent alerted other clubs before the LET put the article out.
  22. This assumes Venkys have authorised the same budget as last year, which seems unlikely in the global climate. On top of that, we've a big black hole in sponsorship money as it stands, which you'd expect based on previous official comments about the amount, would comfortably be a six figure sum
  23. The point I responded to questioned whether we really wanted Kipre if he is happy to sit on the bench but make more cash. Bauer may have got more money with us, we don't know, but apparently didn't sign as he was not guaranteed to start. TM got criticism - indicating some would be happy for us to sign players more bothered by money than playing. Damned if we do and damned if we don't.
  24. And yet TM gets slaughtered by many for losing out on Bauer for apparently not promising him first team football.
