You're spot on with both counts. Hard to know because our owners are totally silent. We hear nothing and have no real idea why they still own us or what their plans for the club are. Something bad is happening - most likely. Had we got a signing over the line by now, things might have calmed down a bit but the longer we go without signing a number 1 keeper, the more concerning it gets, even more so when you think we actually need 2. You'd imagine we'd have this wrapped up early doors as its been on the cards for long enough to plan ahead but even the tabloid rag links have died off. Also with regards to Downing, should have been fairly straightforward, even if we were offering reduced terms but its all gone quiet there too.

I think he knows. He knows its £0 (or more likely £5m- )

So Northampton might very well come in with a bid for Wharton now. We aren't really in a position to sell him but we all know he'll be gone if the offer does come in

Right now, there is no excitement, just fear really. Our shambolic transfer policy is worrying and at this moment in time we are likely lining up on the opening day like: -------------------------Fisher Nyambe----Lenihan---Williams---JRC Thats not great. Obviously, chances are we will sign some players by then but most people are saying nothing is close at the moment and the amount of time it usually takes to get a signing over the line isn't a great confidence boost. Then there is always the possibility of Dack, Arma, Trav or Lenihan being sold to keep the wolves from the door. So, no, not excited at present.

100% that line will get trotted out at some point. Not even a hint of a signing today.

Desperately need a signing over the line soon. We can't even muster conversation about transfers at the moment!

It would be mad if we spent money on this guy but wouldn't stump up the 800k or whatever it was to buy the Charlton keeper.

A genuine Rovers legend. The volleys he rifled in past Fulham and Spurs were unreal hits. Easily one of my favourite ever Rovers. Incredibly sad to know that the chances of seeing a player of that level play for us again, is slim to none.
