I can’t watch the game but thats an interesting role for him. Sounds like he's playing well. He didn't pull up many trees in an attacking role last season.

Even playing wide, he doesn't play as a traditional winger. He still gets into the box a lot and should be getting chances to shoot/finish. As Tyrone says, when do you see him go for goal from outside the box, like Armstrong does?

Pretty happy with Mowbrays comments. Seems like our recruitment is geared towards the defence where it's desperately needed. If we get the defenders we need and there is enough room to bring Downing in, i'd be happy enough for him to come back.

Not sure where the "Announce player" thing came from but its tiresome. Rovers aren't the only fans that do it, all football clubs have fans that do. Not sure why people do it but then again, I think I'm past trying to figure out why most people do what they do on social media.

He's got to be one of the worst finishers in the league. You only need to compare the finishing ability of Armstrong, Dack and Graham from our own squad (Graham obviously no longer here) against him and he is no where near their level. Playing him out wide won't help, that's fair enough but he doesn't look like a goalscorer at all.

People sniffing glue on twitter, seem to think BB will get 10-12 goals. One bloke even seems to believe he has 20+ goals (in a season, not career) in him.

I don't have the stats but I felt like he played centrally a lot more after Dacks injury, which coincided with AA bagging more consistently. From memory, I can't recall him having any good games outwide really.

All he does is hit the deck. Its embarrassing at times.

I'd be reluctant to put Armstrong outwide. He doesn't really do alot when he's there. He's much better as a central striker and his performances last season have earned him the right to stay there. Gally can't play wide either but he shouldn't be taking Arma's place up front.

Very encouraging start for Dolan and hopefully you're correct that Chapman has finally got focused and is ready to get into our first team. Definitely agree on Arma too, has to play as a striker, i really don't rate him out wide. For the next pre season id love to see a front 3 of: Chapman---Armstrong----Dolan For a good 45mins (if either Chapman or Dolan can play LW) 3 pacey, tricky, dynamic players. Everything Gallagher and Brereton are not.

The worry is that i don't believe that our coaching staff have the capability to stamp out these mistakes. Raya was still making them whilst he was here and the coaching staff didn't seem to be able to help. Walton made plenty too, didn't show any improvement, in fact he got worse!
