East Lancs Cricket Club ??
jim mk2 replied to sympatheticclaret's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football
How many Asian members does the club have and are there any Asian people involved in the running of the club? What efforts have the club made to reach out to the local Asian community? -
East Lancs Cricket Club ??
jim mk2 replied to sympatheticclaret's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football
The question was posed back then that East Lancs had declined because it was now in an "Asian area and local cricket and Muslims just don't mix". A quick google showed that the 1st XI and 2nd XIs were overwhelmingly white players. Perhaps Blackburn Asian cricketers who ventured into East Lancs were made to feel unwelcome and didn't feel comfortable - or maybe they were racially abused - or maybe they stayed away because they knew any of those things could happen. I would hope that wasn't the case but if it can happen at Yorkshire CCC it can happen anywhere, and that cricket as a sport has a problem with inclusivity. -
This is awful, embarrassing. This isn't international football, or any sort of competitive football. Comparisons to the Greaves era are wrong too.... he never played against any team as poor as this
-
Kane hat-trick against Albania and now San Marino...... might I suggest the goals don't count towards his England tally as the opposition wasn't worthy of international football?
-
3-0 already. What is the point of these meaningless qualifiers against countries that clearly are out of their depth and should not be in the competition? Well done to Fifa for making World Cup qualification so easy and such a farce that even the Scots could get through.

Dean Smith for Norwich.....presumably looking to next season and coming straight back to the Prem Good manager with a good record at our level. In a normal world another that would have been a shoe-in at Ewood instead of the present incumbent. -

Irrelevant. It's the manager not the players. Any club in the world would want Ronaldo in their side FYI the stock market shows the value of the club...it means Manchester United is worth more than twice that of Juventus United have higher turnover, bigger home gates and twice as many fans around the world By any metric, United is a MUCH BIGGER club than Juventus WTF does "Looks focus on the football of the clubs" mean? It's not English -
Oh dear. Defeat in the slap and tickle It doesn't really matter

I've looked and it's the manager who's not good enough He's their best player and been a huge success since he returned You wouldn't but the stock market value of Juventus is about $1.1bn and Manchester United $2.7bn Guess which is right? You don't half post some ill-formed tripe -
Has he got his boots in that bag? Still better than anything we've got

How many were from Sheffield on Saturday? -
Sorry @Paul Mani it doesn’t ring true. A CEO would not tell a random fan he hardly knows that the manager was on the verge of the sack or which players may or may not be leaving. Information like that is strictly confidential and employee contracts have legal implications and I cannot see any chief executive divulging such details to a member of the public. Newspapers often print transfer stories which often have little semblance to the truth - they’re called fliers - and this sounds similar. In my view your claims should be taken with a barrel load of salt.

So Farke and Warnock available for employment. It obviously didn’t work for Colin at Boro but he and Farke have good track records in the championship. Both a big upgrade on Mowbray -

Where was the ball though? -
Yes but the allegations have been made and in the meantime the BBC had no option but to act. They couldn’t ignore them
-
He;s been implicated in a racism report - which is a bit more than hearsay
-
Nothing to do with the BBC. Any other media organisation would have done the same

Tony's tombola gone into overdrive today What would constitute a good result today - a 6-0 defeat? -
How could he present that programme after he's been named in a racism report with everything that's gone on this week? Really?

Disagree. The players are totally out of order, including some ex players. Totally insensitive The club should act and any local paper worth its salt would be following up on this story too
