Attendances: A cause for concern
jim mk2 replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Leicester v Spurs is off, expect more to be called off before the weekend. Brentford manager today pleaded the entire PL to be called off This isn't an "over-reaction". At the current rate of growth 11 million people could be infected by Christmas Eve. Omicron has been close to home and it's isn't pleasant. No one would want to contract it Assuming it goes ahead, I hope the fans attending at Ewood on Saturday enjoy the match - it might be the last one for a while -

You said a few minutes ago "let's wait for the data" then say you're aware of the data Which is it? -

I'm with Covid-19 on this one. It always seeks to be fair and doesn't discriminate who it infects, whether it's the hoi polloi or £100,000-a-week footballers. It truly is an egalitarian virus of our age -

Strange thing to say when there is clearly a very high risk It's OK having a libertarian attitude about freedoms and carrying on with life but the virus doesn't discriminate over who it infects and younger people seem to be particularly vulnerable this time. Why would you put your family Christmas at risk because of a football match? -

Who knows but it's highly likely and with record infections today and doubling every few days almost inevitable from now on. Anecdotally this variant is very close to home, is spreading fast and is not pleasant It's your risk but you can't blame people if the attendance is well down on Saturday (if the match goes ahead) -

Burnley match off tonight because of Covid outbreak Who wants Covid for Christmas? I still think anyone going to Ewood on Saturday is barmy -

Government guidelines that now require Covid passes at "mass events" but not football matches 250,000 pupils off school this week, Omicron cases doubling every few days, a growing crisis, isn't it reasonable to ask whether fans should still be going to games? Either way, it's not difficult to see the attendance to Rovers' next home game being lower than expected -
All sounds very American to me. I don't even like "midfielder" and "wing backs". Simple, plain English such as half backs and inside forwards please

January Transfer window 2022

Please not the pathetic town club trope. Not when fourth division clubs (to my mind) like Brentford, Watford, Bournemouth and Brighton have made it to the Premier League in recent years- 7479 replies

Van Hecke’s dad had made the trip and was among the Rovers fans. I’d imagine he wanted to celebrate with him rather than any love for Rovers -

After some of the abject performances earlier in the season including a record 7-0 home defeat this excellent run is hard to take in. Long may it continue! A long, long way to go and I hope we haven’t peaked too early but a playoff place looks a distinct possibility -
Root and Malan gone in first 30 mins. Nice dream while it lasted The end is nigh

How long is Kaminski likely to be out? Pears will let us down sooner or later -
Good move to bet against your own team You win money if we lose and don’t mind losing money if we win Keep it up

If Mowbray is a “legend” what word would you use to describe genuine managerial “legends” (horrible word anyway - what does it mean?) such as Dalglish and Souness? You know, managers who’ve actually won trophies?

Yep, his play with back to goal is still poor; doesn't use his body and size to shield the ball. -

Don't like the message so blame the messenger, eh? I see England's first Ashes warm-up game was ruined by weather - I thought it didn't rain down there
