  1. So he played for Rovers when he was 4 and 5?
  2. "I also played here when I was younger" So how did Rovers miss out on a lad from Clitheroe?
  3. The lad Extras has played well this innings so far, England's second highest scorer behind Root.
  4. This is becoming one of the most disastrous days in England's recent cricket history. Poor bowling and captaincy followed by yet another abysmal batting display.
  5. Root's a wonderful batsman when he's on form but as captain he gets alot wrong. The match has now effectively slipped away from England And now he's missed a catch. Root has had a nightmare this morning
  6. Scourge of England dies, aged 75 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58222495 Great player but my goodness, he caused us some pain
  7. For the record, I was the messenger. West Ham fans including 2 close friends were convinced he was going.......... How gullible to get it wrong Again
  8. They're Nixon stories from the Sun on Sunday, which means they're yet more fliers and highly unlikely to happen. Clickbait for the gullible
  9. Who looks at these obscure and worthless websites run by spotty teenagers let alone take them seriously as a source of news? If you want proper news that is fit to print read a national newspaper that has stories sourced by credible and professional journalists. Anything else is clickbait for gullible people and a total waste of time
  10. Bad defeat for Burnley losing at home to a team likely to be near the bottom this season
  11. You try to sign up to watch live and the online registration form says it doesn't recognise the "landline" number despite the fact you entered a mobile number as requested So you ring the helpline phone number but there's no option for technical help and the options you do try go dead anyway Hopeless
  12. I would say look at India Before India played a county XI as a warm-up for the first Test, the last first-class match Rohit Sharma played that wasn't a Test was in November 2015. The last time Virat Kohli played a non-Test first-class match was in November 2012, nearly nine years ago. The best players can play across all formats without the need for "match practice"
  13. He'll struggle. The Premiership ceased to exist in 2007
  14. Good post The question always was, why didn't Williams sack Souness when it was clear by that stage he was a failing manager? Williams gets lots of praise but that lack of action over Souness (and the Ince appointment) shows he didn't always get it right
  15. It was surprising that Souness said he was disappointed by Cole and Yorke. Cole was an honest pro for us overall compared to Yorke who apart from a few games played as though he was doing us a favour just turning up. Good interview and it was nice of Souness to give us a glimpse of his multi million pound home too. Is John Williams still around? Getting him to interview and lift the lid on his time at Rovers would be interesting.
  16. For older fans, it's utterly galling to see the likes of Brentford, Watford, Brighton, and up until recently Bournemouth, to my mind natural third and fourth division clubs, in the top division. Yes, I know they reflect the southern shift of wealth in the UK over the past 40 years but there's no reason except inept management why so many great northern and Midland clubs should be languishing for so long in the lower divisions. I don't think it's wonderful to see Brentford doing well - I resent it, because it should be us up there .
  17. I didn't know he did that - funnily enough, we did the same, having a few drinks in the city centre and then walking with trepidation to the match through the Celtic-supporting east end. For pure football, Rovers' performance that night was probably one of the best I've ever seen. We played Celtic off the pitch and they barely had a kick. It was beautiful to watch. Then Martin Taylor went to sleep from a corner with about 5 minutes left
  18. Good post. Amid all the well deserved praise for Souness in his early years he had well and truly lost the plot by the end. You're right - there was a sigh of relief when he went, and his decision to leave took some of the heat off John Williams, who should have sacked him several months before. Overall he was great for Rovers, but certainly left the club in a mess.
  19. Sibley hit a 4..........however Look at the position of his head, falling away to off Look at his body shape, at 45 degrees instead of more upright Look at his front leg, at an angle instead of facing down the pitch This is one reason why he struggles at Test level. Welcome back Hameed sib.html
  20. Another James Anderson 5-for, and he wasn't supposed to be fit enough to play Can England avoid an innings defeat?
  21. Yes, you are imagining it, but there is a treatment (not vaccine) for it because it is a condition that a person is already suffering from I've only seen us lose once at Millwall, and that was back in the early 1970s I'm not optimistic about this weekend though
  22. Assam's always been my cup of tea. Umpteen cups a day compared to the single cup of coffee, at 11am as per protocol Always drink coffee on a day out though. The average cafe doesn't have a clue how to make tea properly.
  23. ...... the Scarse git. Till Death Us Do Part, they don't write them like that any more
  24. Nuance and subtlety falls on barren earth. The bar's got so low now it's gone underground.
  25. Yes thanks. I thought Brereton played very well despite having a broad Nottingham accent
