  1. He was terrible last season. And he has had so much more protection this season. Both correct. But when he has been needed, hes been far better this season, he has gone from an absolute liability to someone weve not had to worry about in the main all season which for someone who made so many errors last season is one hell of a change. And he has been given lots of praise for it. And people are no longer calling for a new keeper. Im not talking about passes to Markanday as mistakes, I dont even remember when that was. Im on about the Sheffield Wednesday one. The one v Ipswich that he chucked into his own net. The 2 at Plymouth including one where he rushed out and headed it to their player to score. The one v Hull where Connolly ran in and he was stood to one side basically leaving a tap in. One at Ipswich, one at Swansea, one at Preston. One at home to Sunderland. And there are one or two others. Hes not perfect now, he chucked one in at Coventry and he made one yesterday. He has also got lucky a few times, notably away at Norwich, at home to Pompey and away at Oxford. But its a much more reasonable amount of mistakes and not many at all costing us a goal.
  2. It doesnt need emphasising that he will be judged on a Rovers shirt if he signs. Obviously that is the case. I and many others, including you who criticised the club once you learnt of a potential signing from where he is coming from. Just are stating reservations that they have.
  3. Yes, as I have just said, we will. You even were somewhat critical of the level he is coming from and saying signings like this arent good enough in terms of the investment. Just because we scouted him doesnt mean much, we presumably scout all the players we sign. Obviously he could be a hidden gem. If you want examples of times weve signed random players and they werent good enough, Telalovic, Petshi, Koita and Goulon.
  4. Hasnt suggested that he wouldnt judge him in a Rovers shirt though.
  5. I dont think Ohashi is a player who should be regularly starting and that stat is objective (if it is that many games). He would be a useful squad player which based on Eustace saying he replaced Telalovic was the intention. I dont think I have said that Gueye is our worst striker we have ever had. He clearly isnt. I dont recall any worse finishers than him to be honest, with his feet. He has had 2 good displays this week and I have praised him lots but he needs to start scoring goals. Leonard should be out on loan. Hes young and not yet up to Championship standard. The loan would be to help to develop him to hopefully be able to play for us in the future as opposed to being 4th choice. They are my opinions, you implied not rated across the board. And we only play 1 up front so 2 of them are squad players anyway. The main reason that we have been so high is Eustace getting every last drop out of them, having us so orgaised and the star performers have been all defensively, and the likes of Tronstad, Travis, Beck, Hyam, Batth, Carter, Brittain and Pickering I do rate.
  6. I dont think people are writing him off. Just saying its an underwhelming signing. Im sure as with everyone he will be judged in a Rovers shirt if he signs.
  7. Well another manager presumably wouldnt play stupidly attacking football especially without some players and probably could get more than 1 point in 7 games. So yes. No idea who they would appoint. I dont think Mason did very well last time but maybe wrong. They would surely get a good manager in as soon as they could.
  8. I bet most of them are squad players and we have seen that once you get past our first 11, the depth is non existent. Whatever his reasoning was behind standing where he did, he got it horribly wrong and made a mistake.
  9. No it wasnt. He made error after error last year, he was an absolute liability. Just marginally less terrible than Wahlstedt. And this year, it hasnt just "calmed down." Hes had plenty of praise.
  10. Its hard to get excited about Kargbo potentially signing. We do need a quick winger, mind you we thought we were getting that with ACD. And he would be permanent. But its hard not to draw paralells with Telalovic, he seemingly thrived in Serie C and has struggled in Serie B. Its not a signing befitting a Championship play off push and even chaddy was critical of it. No doubt he will be our only permanent signing too. With one or two loans on top.
  11. Oh come on. Haters? Dieing to bounce on him? Constant stupid criticism? He has had loads of praise this season. He messed up yesterday though.
  12. Definitely not over 12 months. Hes been better over 6 months but Tronstad has been mr consistent. But equally, obviously he shouldnt be dropped especially as Toth looked dodgy v Coventry.
  13. Surely thats Ange at the job centre.
  14. I think Emerton was similar at a higher level.
  15. I think a name briefly mentioned.
  16. He was, and he wasnt and isnt a very good manager, but which managers arent in it for themselves? Did he speak highly of the owners?
  17. It was the summer we spent £10m. He was clearly just managing expectations. Either way, another deflection of blame.
  18. Brittain is definitely not half as effective anywhere other than at right back. But what made you think he was ready to start at Championship level and to move one of our best performers this season out of the way to accomodate it?
  19. Yes, it was Tony Mowbray who stopped them from otherwise putting all of their efforts into promotion. Obviously a rumour, but maybe another thing to question on in general added to an already unfortunately lengthy list, @K-Hod what has happened to the vacant chief scout role after Park left?
  20. I very much doubt it made any difference, nor do I think that his improvement is in any way down to Toth "putting pressure on him. An error has been in the post. He made one at Oxford that lead to a goal disallowed and one v Pompey that wasnt deemed a penalty, wasnt put away and we even instantly scored on the counter.
  21. Its not the stats necessarily, its the standard. He has dropped out of the side since he moved up from Serie C to Serie B.
  22. Preston have some decent midfielders already. Dont they know that they can only get someone worse than them and it doesnt matter how bad, the logic can be "well we couldnt get as good."
  23. Even if whoever we signed wasnt as good as those 2. You are defending Forshaw as if there isnt a sliding scale of how inferior any player is to those 2. My issue isnt even that Forshaw isnt as good. It is that he is so much worse, that he isnt good enough to step in.
  24. Yeah, for the free kick the goal felt inevitable with Twine such a good taker and Pears standing too far towards the far post.
