If we lose at the weekend with our depleted squad, it would further highlight how its not just a case of getting the right players in. It would be 3 losses on the bounce. -

Have you seen much of Aasgard as you must have mentioned him 100 times? Theres no chance of this happening by the way. -

Parma are interested in him on a free. -

"I'm not aware of anything imminent or being on the table." The usual line again. Mentions wanting a left back as Pickering is out until March. No mention of a midfielder even though Tronstad is out until March so we are going to have to put up with sub standard midfielders in Buckley and especially Forshaw until then. -

When is Jed Wallace being announced? -

We were told that Forshaw was signed as an attempt to save resources for the attacking positions. If a player from Serie B who has not replicated his form in Serie C is the primary buy and we also dont bring in another midfielder then that would be a predictably sorry state. -

I doubt it is £1m+, and I cant see us signing 2 strikers. Bamford is a non starter due to his wage and the fact he is injured. -

The choice is on the owners and their willingness to provide a reasonable budget. -

It sort of does. Otherwise you could just sign literally anyone and say that. He might be a hidden gem, who knows. -

Elliott Jackson confirming talks with Kargbo. Clearly not what the manager wants having repeated that he wants Championship experience so @chaddyrovers you might struggle to say otherwise. Track record hardly says ready for a Championship play off push. All very underwhelming -

Also, they scored just after half time and it never felt possible that we would get back into it. -

Not a clue. Its very difficult to pick a team, and hard to see anything but a home win. -

Its flawed logic to say well Szmodics and Brereton started scoring as if you can sign anyone and it might happen. They are the exceptions to the the rule. And even then, Brereton was very young when we signed him and it took years for him to do that and Szmodics whilst he had never scored anywhere near as much as he did had seasons where he had scored quite a lot albeit in League 1. Obviously you dont know how many goals any signings might score, one who rarely has in the past might score loads and one who had scored lots might be rubbish in a Rovers shirt. I know yeah. I am saying that there has been a lot of talk in this window about Championship experience. I am saying that if you limit yourself then its a smaller pool and a more congested market. -

What a frightening team. Cantwell and Weimann as central midfielders. Hedges and ACD as wing back and Beck at centre back. And no goal threat despite essentially having 7 "attacking" players. -

Can you remember one thing Hedges did in attack of any use? As I have said. I am aware that squad players wont be of the same quality as first team players. I am saying that our squad players are not good enough even as squad players, when the likes of Buckley, Forshaw and Hedges come in, they are nowhere near good enough. When someone like Baker came in, he was a downgrade on Travis, thats normal otherwise he would be playing instead of him. But he was still a decent Championship player, it wasnt as if the quality fell off a cliff. I am not saying that our squad players should be as good. But they need to be good enough as to not significantly weaken the team when they come in. If its Buckley and/or Forshaw in the team for the next 6 weeks, we are significantly weakened. -

Ive never really subscribed to the idea that Championship experience is a must. If you limit yourself, especially on a limited budget, you are fishing in a limited pool with most other teams. Our wage budget will be lower than most so players currently on Championship wages will be a struggle to afford. And the ones available (aside from kids on loan or punts from the lower leagues) will likely be ones that have been sitting on a bench not good enough to play for their current side. You look at someone like Thomas Asante who is now likely beyond us, its perhaps a safer bet but you know barring an unlikely sudden improvement that hes not going to be prolific. Or you look at players like Wallace, Bamford, Schlupp etc, once very good at this level but past their peak and on the wane. If you have some imagination and some competence in terms of finding the right players further afield, and we dont. Then you have the potential to find someone in a less crowded market who of course could fail but equally could be at a lower price with a higher reward. That being said, this Kargbo seems to have struggled with the step up from Serie C to Serie B and has had a very nomadic career at the age of 25. -

Small squad in terms of quality. Obviously your squad players wont be as good as your first teamers but for most teams the gap isnt as big. Midfield is an obvious example, in Travis and Tronstad, you wont find muc better at this level. You wont find a worse partnership than Buckley and Forshaw. You could say we had a big squad last year but youd be counting Ennis, Telalovic, Garrett, Markanday etc. Its not just how many bodies you have. What did you make to Hedges and Forshaw, 2 players you have defended a lot? With JRC picking up an injury and Tronstad out until March. Are you still happy just to run with Travis, Buckley and Forshaw in there? Do you still see us as likely to get into the top 6? And if so, do you still think we only need a left winger and striker to achieve it? Or has that number gone up? -

I find it bizarre that even now, all these years in. Having seen so many people (both in terms of managers and staff and also at board level where we have had many lap dogs) at the various levels of the organisation in this country. That people thing the primary reason for the inefficiencies, for the lack of reinvestment, for the lack of plan, is anything other than solely on Venkys. The common denominator. People even still nowadays thinking thats its the ulterior motive of people over here, or the lack of merely asking for money, as to why we are run in such a stripped down way. As if they would otherwise oblige and spend if asked. -

And even then, the fact that Suhail is the owners middle man has been well known for a while. -

I dont doubt that he is the middle man for Venkys. But its this idea that Venkys are only not investing because theyve not been asked or told not to, by Suhail, before that by Waggott, before that by Mowbray, as is if they would willingly spend otherwise and it just so happens that various individuals have all simply not requested it. Its a load of bollocks. Even if it had any truth to it, obviously it would still be their responsibility anyway having trusted these people and not shown enough interest to notice that we do need money reinvesting, but still. If we spent a bit and went up, surely they would look even better in the owners eyes. Hes just a snake and a lapdog either way. But even if he went, same with Waggott perhaps to a lesser degree, another puppet would replace him and the problem would still remain. We all know Suhail is the owners go to man without anonymous attention seeking twitter accounts or indeed anyone of a similar ilk suggesting as such. Hes clearly very close them hence that grotesque picture of him and Balaji that keeps doing the rounds offending our eyes. The fact that we are talking about this deep into a transfer window with a game 2 days away that we can barely name 12 players for tells you a lot. -

Even if he is doing that, and I dont know how anonymous attention seeking twitter accounts or people on here know exactly the relationship and dynamics between Suhail and the owners. It is still on the owners either way. "Badly advised" again?
