Ferguson Hands in Transfer Request
Manchester Blue replied to No Nay Never's topic in Messageboard Gold
Not sure how him having the respect or lack of from the fans would affect his performance in anyway. Judging by this thread it would appear that a large proportion don't rate him anyway or is that just after his transfer request. The board & Hughes are being very canny in the way they have come out as very understanding to Ferguson but are quite clear in their position over his move. As it stands Rangers have offered us £3.5m short of what we paid. Considering JW's comments I would be amazed if he we sold Ferguson for anything less then £6m. If we sell him for £4-4.5m then JW looks like a fool and I don't believe he is one. As for what will hapen with Ferguson. Most football fans are usually very fickle and very hypocritical. All it will take is a few good performances and Ferguson will get the boo boys off his back. They might not be singing his name from the rooftops but im sure he could cope, he doesn't seem the type that particularly cares to be honest. I think it will be an interesting week but i'm not all that sure we will come out of this as big a loser as some think. If we keep him then we have a very good midfield. If we don't then I honestly think the club will get most if not all of the money back. In which case it will allow Hughes to go out and invest. -

So you seriously think Gerrard is worth £8m then do you? p.s. Great comments from your mate JW don't you think. Sums the situation up perfectly. -

And take his loyalty bonus and all the rest. He gets slated for not handing in a transfer request and then gets slated for handing one in. Funny old game really. -

Carsley did leave for Coventry but he did also state that he wanted to be playing Premiership football. The thought of actually putting in the graft to get us there never occurred to him. -
Jesus you do yourself no favours do you. This was your 2nd best player of the year as voted by your own fans, even after he handed in a transfer request. As for thanking us. Crikey after all the money you have given us for duds in the last few years you'd do well to keep quiet. Obviously you won't be coming back again so it won't matter.

Is that the same one that your own website seems to think cost you a then club record £2.5m? here

We have no delusions of grandeur whatsoever. Unlike some people from down the M6. If Savage is so poor then why was he given a new 4 year deal and why were you lot so desperate to keep him. Obviously the answer is because you are bitter which is fair enough, i'm sure we'd be peed off, you only have to read the Ferguson thread to see that. However if you expect to be taken seriously then don't post that Yorke cost you FA and then come back 5 mins later saying well 250k is nothing to you lot. As for why we don't like Bruce. How about because the Elephant Man is one of the biggest hypocrites in football, or how about all the crap he spouted over the Yorke incident. Those are just two to mull over, there are many more reasons.

[Archived] How Good Is Rooney?

This picture? Yeah that's the one. Ronaldo seems like he's goading the fans just as much to me. Saying that I said the same thing after Fowler against Everton last week. Fans can't have it both ways, if you had been called everything under the sun you might be tempted to gloat somewhat. The lad is just a daft scally and won't change simple as that. -

What about Emerton who was in front of Kamara? Cracked me up to read Jordan trying to defend his players and whingeing about Moekena. He said by the letter of the law the ref was correct to book him but it was very cynical. Of course it was and if one of his players had done it he would have patted him on the back.I've been amazed at how many people including a few pundits who felt he should have been sent off. What he did was no different than pulling someone back by the jersey who is racing away. It wasn't a bad foul and he clearly wasn't the last man so all did was take a booking, good play for me. Jordan also argued Todd should have gone with Lulu, presumably being butted is an offence now. He then topped it all by suggesting Faye was unlucky. He shouldn't have been on the field in the first place after shoving Emerton and then commiting a terrible foul on Thommo. -
Correct. You've answered your own question.

That may be your overall opinion but it's not the one the overall one of this board. Can't pass or create chances. Get on to the ticket office and ask them to get you a seat facing the pitch. -

Thought about this and i'm convinced if he does go he'll end up at Newcastle. I makes little sense him returning to Rangers, it's like him admitting he wasn't good enough, plus I don't believe Rangers have the money. Yes they sold Boumsong but Leeds sold lots of players in the last few years, it didn't mean they could afford to buy. Souness has a real need for a player of his kind so how about getting his agent to go to Rangers saying Barry is unhappy and available. Rangers come in with a low bid which gets rejected but has the desired effect. Newcastle then come in for an unsettled player with a bid of say £5-6m. Hope it doesn't happen but can really see it happening. -

Are we? I hadn't picked up on that, mind you I stopped reading the Savage thread a while back. You hadn't missed owt Paul. Most people who want Savage to sign don't care about the stuff behind, those who don't are criticising. To suggest most are against Savage is stretching the truth somewhat. -
Exactly, it's not the nauture of the song that bothers me, it's the fact that it is utter crap and is also complete nonsense. The other one and the 'This is how it feels' are miles better.

But we're already a poorish side , Manchester . Any poorer and we'd be halfway to the Nationwide league or whatever it's called . You really are guilty , with all respect , of overestimating Ferguson's talent and influence. At this moment in time there is nothing to seperate the respective contributions of the two players to their teams - if anything Savage's is greater . The big difference is that Savage is older and won't improve . Neither will Ferguson , come to that , if he limps off back to the joke league in Jockland. Read what I said again i'm not comparing Savage & Ferguson and the fact that we are poor, although I think at present we are just pretty average, is largely down to a lack of a really good working midfieler a la Savage, who we don't have. -

You've not listed one player there who is even half as talented as Ferguson. The fact of the matter is that a player who can make things happen is always going to be worth more than one is just a worker like Faye or Holland. If you can get one who can do it all then great but when you see how much Gerrard will got to Chelsea for you will see how cheap £6.5m is, not £7.5 however many times you say it. I could claim we bought him for £4m all week but it wouldn't make it true. If you seriously believe he is only worth £3.5m then i'm amazed. I'd be gutted if he leaves because we will not replace him by any means, there simply isn't anyone to replace him who we could afford, certainly not for £5m. Quite simply we could get in Savage & Faye for £5m but I wouldn't want to watch that every week. Savage & Fergie equals great midfield, Savage & one of those on your list equals no creativity and sadly amuch poorer side. -
I perhaps worded that wrongly as I agree that some of the staff are excellent and have been really helpful. I think just think they and us fans are badly let down by those responsible for the decisions at times. Incidentally I did think of cancelling my automatic cup scheme and buying a cheap one as like Nuclearsox says I could easily sit in my own seat anyway. Haven't made my mind up yet but may end up doing that.

Agreed MB - don't know if you have found out anymore but why should we be ripped off for our commitment 'Season Ticket holders who have opted for the Home Cup Match Ticket Scheme will be sold their tickets automatically;their tickets will be posted out from Tuesday 13th January' If there are cheaper tickets available - then we should get them at the cheapest price - otherwise what is the point of us showing our commitment and not getting anything in essence back? Might as well send the ticket back and get one of the cheaper tickets. In addition (unless I'm reading something wrong here) how come the Adult S/T holder tickets are cheaper than the Young Adult S/T tickets in the CIS Stand? Rang the ticket office this morning and they said I can't change my ticket up front as this is not allowed but once I recieve my £22 ticket I can come to the club and change it for a £10 ticket. They don't make it easy do they? They did say I can do it all by post as I don't fancy going up but I can't see that being likely seeing as the tickets won't be sent out till Thursday so I'll receive it Friday at the earliest. I appreciate the club is in a diffcult position but it's just the usual shambles that so typifies our club. Premiership team, Premiership stadium, Conference staff.

It is the worst song by a million miles, actually no it's the worst song closely followed by the 1 man went to bed with Ternent song. I swear to god I have never heard two worse songs sung by any club, ever.

[Archived] Who Allowed The F.A. Cup To Die
Manchester Blue replied to den's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Not true, both the Police and the FA ok'd the game but then Yeading hired a firm of safety advisers who stated that segregation could not be guaranteed. So Yeading played at a half empty Loftus Road instead. -
The only press where we are taking a beating in is the Scum which Karen Brady writes for and is using her article to voice her opinions. Any publication with any credibility wouldn't allow such biased nonsense to be printed. As for being in the right, maybe if they were not such hypocrites they would get more support from the press/public. However most people have longer memories than a few weeks and can remember how you got your current manager and what he did previously. Yes the same muppet ranting on about loyalty now.
