Yep. Sell on clauses are a god send to little clubs, but neither here nor there for us. The fact they are so celebrated at Rovers suggests small time mentality.

I guess they're good when the original sale is well under the true price, because it is based on profit.

Prime example being Raya (or Adam Armstrong for Newcastle). We sold Raya for less than his value, so much so that we'll get more from the sell on % than the original fee.

Selling Wharton for £22m, we're not going to get much given it's 15% of the profit Palace make.

Stop fucking moaning we got a point from another tricky game and we are going the right way so try and be a bit positive for once even eh, it won't kill you.

You sound like the players in their Waggott meeting - is that you Dom Hyam complaining about negativity?

What you wrote was factually incorrect. I corrected you and your reply is 'wHaT aBOuT sOmE POsiTIviTy?' I'll be positive when there is something to be positive about.

It wasn't a tricky game, they'd won 1 in 7 and not scored at home in 3. Basically have the same form over 10, 15, 20 games as we do. We had 2 shots in the whole match (one was Hyam from 50 yards), the worse of the two teams again, got away with a 0-0 draw, play like that all season and we're finishing rock bottom as variance events itself out and that match finishes in defeat more than it does victory.

Lets just look at the bigger picture.

A week ago we were challenging the bottom 3 not the top 6 but now there's a six point gap and we are heading to midtable and that's what its all about right now.

Excellent point well earned from a disjointed but defensively sound performance and the manager is doing exactly what hes been brought in to do.

Anything else is immaterial right now and get another point or 3 on Saturday however it might come and we might be able to relax a bit and enjoy the Newcastle game.

Eh? 1 week ago there was a 7 point gap (now worse at 6) AND we had a game in hand, so not sure how you’ve spun a positive there. We’ve move up 1 place in the league, thanks to Plymouth, but that paragraph is borderline delusional.
Even if you mean 2 weeks ago, prior to Stoke, we’ve only increased the gap by 1 point, in the meantime all whilst playing 2 teams below us, and 1 practically level with us.

You've got to take it in context though, we'd taken 5 points from Tomasson's last 11 games, we've taken 5 points from Eustace's first 4. You have to consider the form and morale of the team when Eustace took over.

I enjoyed watching some of the football under Tomasson, but we were going down.

It’s an extremely simplistic view you’re taking though, not looked at teams played, players available or anything, and taking a specific sample size.
Fair enough, if people think this is the start of some sort of revitalised ‘hard to beat’ Blackburn Rovers they can. To me we’ve looked shite, but thankfully played Stoke and Cardiff who have similar form to our poor run under JDT. We lost in xG in 3 of the 4 (this helps with small sample sizes) and showed our usual weak under belly versus PNE, and Eustace wasn’t even picking the team or managing in our win.

It’s absolutely not on Eustace though (yet), I’m not saying it is as it’s far too early for that. But if you play that type of football you absolutely have to get results, if not then it’s rock bottom, so let’s hope we do miraculously start grinding out some points. Personally, I’m not holding my breath

But that was in the cup, with the pressure off and two changed sides...can't compare them.

I admit teams with quality would have put us to the sword, but the side is shot of confidence. We actually had a decent chance to snatch it, and we defended well on the whole, the offside trap working.

They need to get together as a squad, find some confidence that they ain't going to ship 2 goals a game, and build from there.

There is no recency bias at all - look at Sheff Utd, Rotherham, Reading, Dingles away last season as three examples off the top of my head. One flowing attack in those games doesn't not make me feel any better about those memories, some of the worst moments as a Rovers fan in recent years.

I loved the way we played under JDT, it was the hope and the ambition and it was nice to see that happening at our club, but I didn't like the way we committed men forward and I didn't like getting hammered week in week out with zero fight.

People critiquing the style of play and the manager after 3 games really need to take a deep breath. Judge it next season.

I mean come on, your argument loses a bit of credit on that sentence.  Some grim individual performances (which in fairness is your point), but we saw exactly that and far worse under every other manager, was it 7-0 against Fulham under Mowbray. Worst memories as a Rovers fan is over doing it I think.
He took us as close to the playoffs as we’ve ever had under Venkys and further in the cups too, despite all the off-field turmoil at the same time.

Anyway, I’m not particular against Eustace, it’s about as good an appointment as we could make. More just sick to death of how this club is being run, then you spend 2 hours watching pure Sunday league shite and it’s just the cherry on the top

Prior to Deepdale we'd lost 6 on the trot away from home.

There's a lot of romanticising JDT's style of play going on here, we'd have lost that 3-0 a couple of months ago.

Let's become hard to beat, and build from there, it's what Hughes did, and he did alright in the end. I know it's hard to watch, but what de people want?

Eustace is not making these lads suddenly unable to pass a ball 5 yards is he?

This squad is an absolute mess, a proper rag tag bunch, good to luck to anyone coming in trying to fashion a side out of this lot - I'll take a point away on a Tuesday night with a clean sheet any day.

I honestly don’t think we looked hard to beat though, we lose that match to 85% of this division, we were as bad as Birmingham, it’s just Cardiff are even less clinical than them.
Cardiff had 10 points from their last 15 matches, not scored a goal in their last 3 home matches, won 1 of their last 7 matches. They’re basically neck and neck with us in the form table across 10, 15, 20 games.
Yet they still did more to win that match than us, a lot of recency bias to suggest we lose that 3-0 under JDT. We were on a shocking run under him, riddled by injuries yes, but he’d won 3 in a row against Cardiff including a 5-2 battering

I find this less frustrating being honest. All well and good when you have the players but when you don't there is nothing worse than watching a bunch of players with limited ability struggle with every single pass and look so uncomfortable trying to knock it about. I'll take a scrippy scrappy over tippy tappy.

It ain’t scrippy scrappy (whatever that is), it’s just utter shite

  8. Szmodics, Hyam, Brittain, Thomas, Morton, Mola, Hirst, Wahlstedt, O’Riordan, Fleck, Sigurdsson, Tronstad, Ennis, McFadzean, Telalovic, Hill, Ayari, Chrisene, Koumiteo, Moran

    20 players signed under Broughton

    1 true success (Szmodics)
1 likely to be a success (Tronstad)
3 solid and capable on occasion at this level (Hyam, Hill and Morton)
1 potential but not seeing it (Sigurdsson)
1 too early to judge (O’Riordan)
1 will never play for us (Koumiteo)
    1 37 year old (McFadzean)
3 it didn’t work out (Moran, Thomas and Hirst)
6 absolute shockers (Mola, Wahlstedt, Ayari, Chrisene, Telalovic, Ennis)
    1 soft arse (Brittain)
    1 crock (Fleck)

I feel like I’m being generous to be honest.

In the mean time we’ve lost Kaminski, Nyambe, Lenihan, Rothwell, Diaz, Dack, Wharton and others.

In terms of the ‘develop and become self-sufficient’ or whatever the nonsense he’s spouted, we’ve made a total of £0 revenue from players he’s signed. He’s done well rinsing the academy and signings from previous regimes though and spent upwards of £7m with likely loan fees too

  9. Any positives? I honestly can’t think of any. Pears not making any mistakes I guess, he’s probably been our best player by default. Maybe Tronstad too, who has done his job pretty well.

Just how bad is the Swedish team if Ayari and Wahlstedt have got caps?

Chrisene isn’t a defender, I’m not even sure he’s a football in all honesty.

Jake Garrett spreading 50 yard balls to their full back - total football.

Utter dross, summed up by Szmodics worst showing for a long time.

We’ve had 1 shot and it was Hyam from 50 yards as a complete waste.

Jdt has fucked us by getting rid of trav only to leave a month later when we could have done with Travis especially today, Garret came on meant holes in the middle appeared which allowed Preston freedom which lead to the goals.

Eustace just has to get results, he has no time until the international break to put any of his ways onto the team so it’s about just getting results, don’t think we will see the true ways until next season, like with Birmingham he came in stabilised even then had then Sitting pretty until the yanks had a blunder. Buckley coming back may just give us that boost too.

the court case is next month so hopefully the Indian government sting the venkys into enforcement of selling us

Yes, the real culprit in all this

    Todays dragging at work so....

    TEAM.       W / D / L

    Burnley       0 / 3 / 6

    Preston      4 / 3 / 8

    Blackpool.  7 / 5 / 2

    Wigan         4 / 6 / 8

    Bolton         5 / 1 / 8

    OVERALL W20 / D18 / L32

    Win ratio 25.8%

    We also:-

    • Failed to beat Oldham in the league in League one

    • Have a negative (4/11/5) record against Huddersfield

    * Got put out of the League Cup by Morecambe in our only ever meeting.

That really is horrendous reading, especially considering we've been the superior team to PNE, Wigan and Bolton (in terms of finishing positions) for the majority of that time.

Shows how spineless we are from ownership down.

If anything sums up the Venkys reign, it's the fact we haven't beaten Burnley once over 9 matches.

Appalling performance. Eustace has probably only had one full days training with them, but he’s got a very busy couple of days ahead. If I was him my first port of call would be the U23s. We’ve got absolutely no pace, power or athleticism in our squad so I’d be trying to see what we’ve got in the young lads.

Duru, Batty, Montgomery, Gilsenan, Nsangou all worth a go on the bench over the likes of Ayari and Markanday. If Telalovic has come through our academy he’d have spent the last 4 or 5 years in the North West Counties.

In fairness he spent the last few years in the German equivalent of North West Counties - then we decided to sign him.

I think he’s still yet to score a goal at a level above 4th division part time regional German football
