  1. theres a statto inside this one then
  2. com on MB that last point is totally irrelavent is it not ? We are now in 2004 not 1986. There are still people being killed at sporting events be it tragedy or murder, leeds fans will testify to that as will English supporters in Portugal. African fans have died in crowd rushes not too far ago when a ground was overcrowded. Sporting events are much better organised and people are better trained, facilities are far better and believe it or not some lessons have been learned and some haven't. On that fateful day a whole range of human errors as well as an old stand conspired together with the end result that 96 persons died. there is not ONE person responsible for the event and if you read every survey on the internet sites for the hillsborough tragedy you will not find ONE that goes 100 percent against anyone be it the liverpool fans or the south yorks bobbies. It was sad and will always be but IMO its time to let it lie
  3. scotty your wrong on that. I would be the first to point out any errors if I saw them. I have a good idea as to actual time events of that day even though I was over the other side of the Pennines. I am not pro police on this matter. I would love to see someone brought to justice for the deaths of those fans. I would love to see the full enquiry brought out into the public. so please understand my point of view on this. Someone else as well as the Police Chief has to shoulder some of the blame. He should not be the scapegoat in this.
  4. oh come on MB I could never dismiss such a tragedy, and even greater I could never support anyone who did. The whole sorry incident, including the saturday afternoon, the subsequent media attention, the funerals and the court cases must have been horrendous for families involved. The same for Bradford, the same for Ibrox and the same for Heysel. There is no doubt the court case could have been handled better, I dont subscribe to the idea that the judge would not allow any evidence after a time cut off point as that is most definately not within his remit. I would suggest the only reason why it was not allowed would have been that it failed to be served on the prosecution and/or defence within the statutory time limits. As a sports fan I took to heart what happened in every sporting tragedy in my lifetime, it is the way of a real sporting fan anyone else I am sure would feel the same.. Life has its tragedies along the way but like others have said time does heal. It appears in this aprticular scenario - the Hilsborough tragedy - some people will never let it go. I dont hear Heysel being harped on about, I dont hear Bradford or Ibrox being harped about. now that should surely tell you one thing. IMO there is clearly ONE thing missing from the whole sorry argument, a third party that has to this date never been brought to the notice of the public.
  5. and yes I agree totally with TND the horrid World War losses are far bigger a tragedy than any sporting event losses.
  6. coz everyone has different views, everyone begs to differ and more importantly people who have never really had opportunities to read articles other than what has appeared in the media know very little of what actually happened on that fateful day. thats why
  7. then try reading the accounts of the people who were at the Bradford tragedy, that will really hit home. I am not saying that it is in anyway "worse" or "better" than hillsborough but they are both real life events that have happened. Human error, human behaviour and bad luck ALL played their horrible parts in both incidents. we can take every single sporting tragedy back to Ibrox and beyond and it is all the same. this subject should be closed NOW
  8. what a load of crap. Cole was at training last week when BRFC were on tv with the dickov interviews as was Yorke and Todd.
  9. just picked up the interview with Krasner. any potential deal HAS to include a 25 year lease back to the club in order that they can continue to play at Elland road. No figures were mentioned by Krasner but the interviewer suggested a deal worth 30 million, met with short shrift and a non repsonse by krasner. Anyhow 30 million only takes 35% of the total debt away.
  10. laugh I nearly peed myself. if they think they are fleecing me out of 15 bones for a friendly match then they can go and take a running jump onto the nearest railway line just how can they justify such a price when we are DOING them a facour ?
  11. you forget one thing skem lad the pen WAS overcrowded was it not ? therefore either the club sold more tickets than it had actually been allocated or somebody produced forgeries to sell beforehand and please please dont tell me that this one subject has never been mentioned before. i have had the opportunity to read both the Police investigation AND the individual accounts held on file from over 1830 people who were spoken to and that includes LFC fans in fact they are the majority. Some of those persons have already admitted as much they were in possession of tickets NOT supplied by the club. Whatever the outcome of that is totally irrelevent anyhow. Those poor supporters lost their lives and loved ones suffered, all decent football fans feel strongly about the loss. Anyhow I am closed on the subject. but please please please remember this where this is ANY football match there are TOUTS, always have been and always will be
  12. .......and still.... the idiots or clowns that forged the tickets remain at large having never been identified now thats the saddest thing about the whole scenario as whoever he/she or they be they are probably still living off the earnings of that fateful day and making money out of simialr ventures as we speak
  13. wow Des thats ace ! Please find nearest pedalstal and preach to the unconverted. I take it we will see Blackburn Town Centre pre season and oh by the way you got time to preach in the bus stops ?
  14. I just cant be bothered with reading every post on this sensitive topic. However I will post only 1 thought. Whatever happens today in Liverpool (or Everton or indeed anywhere else in Merseyside) it has absolutley tosh all to do with the fact that people died at Hillsborough. It has nothing to do with the papers, the fans, wayne rooney and the liverpool public. Whoever has decided a direct link with Rooney because he has talked to the sun needs a swift chop in the bollux and has obviously spoken before engaging brain (if he had one that is).
  15. I will take that bet OD two pints of lager and a packet of crisps ?
  16. yep BFS gets the most out of his signings does he ? Then why has YD not resigned this season ? Why have they released 9 players who have been brought as "freebies" ? Why have ticket sales plummeted like Rovers ? Granted he got a lot more out of young davies and gets a required amount of effort from some of his players but please dont insinuate that BFS is a godlike figure in the world of Lancashire football. He works within the remit that he has and that means having to look no further than the basement for signings. Oh nearly forgot the money making machine that is JJ och, well we all know why he signed a new deal dont we ? Its because noone else would go near him due to his wage demands. if you speak to winkers fans they will probably tell you that he has signed and at the same time taken 80 percent of their entire annual budget in wages.
  17. has anyone thought that the message sent out may just hide the ultimate ambition for our "little" club ? I mean BRFC has upset the applecart on three occasion in the past 12 years or so. 1. finishing second and running the mighty invincible scum unit from mould t all the way to the finishing line. 2. actually having the god damned nerve to go one better and "buy" the Premiership trophy. and 3 getting to cardiff and upsetting the southern nonces from spuds by dicking them in the Worthy Cup Final ! I reckon there are outside forces at work and that BRFC is under strict orders to send out negative messages as anything else will mean that every darn ref will almost certainly award the opposition a penalty, award off side goals as being good and send off a Rovers player every match !! anyhow thats my thoughts on the subject
  18. Bob there is more Krasner has lost the vital income support of his playmate who has now reneged on a deal which could have brought around 3 million into the club coffers over 2 years. As a result an emergency meeting is currently taking place to decide exactly who else has to leave the club, from tea lady to players. As a consequence the youth and reserve set ups are under threat as they simply cannot afford to run them. Its all gone horribly wrong
  19. sometime T4E you sound exactly like a dingle !! Amoruso the striker from the german leagues was seen arriving at London and his agent refused to disclose the club he was going to have talks with. Appeared on SKYSPORTS this morning
  20. Well my son has just received his letter regarding a non renewal of his ST - he had worries about getting one as he has just started in the bad world of work ! and wasn't sure if he was going to get employment. In relation to the letter, its not really that good and IMO is not the type of letter that would induce the hovering supporter to make the plunge into purchasing a ST, the letter needs more UUUUMPH and a more/better placed explanation regarding the club. In any case on this occasion a renewal was made and having visited the TO today it appears there has been a slight increase in renewals and hows this forkeeness.... in front was a pretty lady requesting tickets for BRAY WANDERERS away ! Now my female fellow blue that IS dedication and why dont you sit near us in the Blackburn End ?
  21. not necessarily so Rev it is reported that he was only around 12-13 k a week at Leicester so I cannot see him picking up a major increase for Rovers. Rovers have some good deals in the bag and APPEAR to have cash left over, is there a chance of a fourth and final signing ? AMORUSO anyone ? seen to arrive in England destination club unknown.
  22. day out at the nobenders then lads and lassies ?
  23. rd from matteo to souness i have read your posts from the past 10 hrs or so and they make me want to throw up my 5 pints and an italian !
