  1. Sorry Gav but not buying it. Think Mowbray is a master bullsh1tter and, sadly, too many fall for it. To me, an evening with Mowbray in Blues Bar, Feb. 2019 merely cemented my long held suspicions. IMO, he's not the self purported humble, honest, man of integrity etc - he's in it for number one and it's all about self preservation as he very likely knows he will never get another relatively lucrative gig, with little pressure, like this one.
  2. Think you are right. Also think Warnock will be supremely motivated to smack Rovers in the face after he was supposedly lined up to take on the manager's job here only to be hijacked by Coyle and co. Seems like M'boro were 'at it' against Forest and impressed Warnock. Think this will be a feisty one and not sure we'll end up with 22 left on the pitch with, IMO, Travis the first one to get his marching orders.
  3. Picked just two points out of your very good summary - couldn't stand to listen to him. IMO, usual self preservation bullsh1t to keep our owners and happy clappers naively happy. Armstrong is 24 in 3 weeks times - FFS Mowbray, HE IS NOT A YOUNG BOY. You look at many players of 24 or under and see what they've achieved in terms of club, appearances, goals, medals and international caps. Yep, he wants a strong finish to the season as, IMO, it gives him another season and on and aimlessly on we will go. IMO, Mowbray is a clown and we need him out now.
  4. Rich Sharpe @richsharpe89 told there's nothing in it. Re Gallagher - pity. Would have driven him myself.
  5. I think Mowbray's game management is very poor. IMO, he is unable to change the course of a game in the way the good managers do - his substitutions for a start are, IMO, baffling and disruptive. For example, Rodgers made a couple of tweaks to Leicester last night both at half time and in the last quarter - tweaks enabling them to see off Chelsea. I recall from our relegation season a number of games where, IMO, we ended up with one point instead of three and losing instead of drawing quite simply due to Mowbray's poor game management. Yes he improved on Coyle's points / game ratio but he was employed to keep us up and FAILED. We were relegated on goal difference and, IMO, we were relegated because of both Coyle and Mowbray.
  6. Neither can I. Like it or not, I can't see anyone going above £15million for Armstrong. IMO, he is not an intelligent footballer and would struggle in the PL. Pace is his biggest attribute and he is scoring goals in what is, IMO, a bang average Championship. The gulf between Championship and PL is huge. I think Watkins is already twice the player Armstrong will ever be and Watkins will only get better.
  7. Probably training on 'Little Wembley' which was behind the row of terraced houses at the Blackburn End.
  8. No it is not. 2020 the same for all football teams. A 56 point return is appalling and, IMO, just confirms we are on a journey to nowhere. It is bottom half of table stuff and and only some half a dozen points above relegation. THAT IS NOT PROGRESS.
  9. If I could have got odds on this match being postponed, I would have put everything I have on it! How convenient for Rovers! Think Warnock will be furious as they play tomorrow. Rovers now a great bet to go and win at M'boro on Sunday.
  10. So far they've kept financing the club. As sure as tomorrow is Tuesday, a tipping point will come - seen it too many times in business. So, what has the investment in infrastructure brought us? Players good enough to get us promoted, no. An improved league position, no. Improved players who we sell for big money, no. So what is the point? A client of mine had sales outstripping his manufacturing capacity so he invested in new manufacturing plant. He lowered his unit production costs, fulfilled the demand for his product and substantially improved his unit and overall profitability. An investment that WORKED producing TANGIBLE results here and now. Flip side - O'Neill and Warnock have brought about improvements in Stoke and M'boro which see them both above Rovers in something like a qurter of the time Mowbray has had. That is not evolution and a slow build but a feckin result. Mowbray FAILED in his objective of keeping us up. Analogy, you get married and promise father-in-law you will look after his daughter. You give her a slap one night but bring her flowers home from work the next day - have you kept your promise and looked after her? Don't be so sensitive. If folk call me a 'boo boy' then fine. If folk think you are a happy clapper just smile and accept it.
  11. You talk about lack of funds! Who spunked £12million+ up the wall on fees for Brereton and Gallagher, not to mention their wages and these two lads were sat on the bench on Saturday! I also think it's nonsense to suggest we couldn't attract the likes of Elliott if it were not for Mowbray. Similarly, to state we would be at greater risk of losing likes of Armstrong if Mowbray were to leave is, IMO, a bit of a stretch! As for Mowbray's footballing philosophy - I've seen some of the worse football ever from a Rovers' side under Mowbray's tenure. IMO, Mowbray's philosophy is all a bit of a myth as I believe what I see with my own eyes and in the main the football has been dire. To think some criticised Big Sam's style!
  12. IMO, and based upon the many matches I saw spanning our time in that division under Mowbray, Kendall, Lee and Furphy, I would say the season we were there with Mowbray was far less competitive than the seasons under previous managers. I think the standard was very poor and most matches were won in a canter. Think Wigan and Rovers finished about 10 points ahead of third placed Shrewsbury and some 20 points ahead of fourth place - evidence of just how relatively uncompetitive the league was - and I am almost certain you would not see such extreme margins in the promotion seasons under Lee and Kendall even when adjusting for 3 points / win instead of the then 2 points / win. Mowbray took us down - full stop. He was appointed to keep us up (his words) and he failed. O'Neill kept Stoke up and Warnock kept M'boro up and they succeeded in what they were brought in to do. Facts don't lie. Why do I place bets on Rovers to win? Firstly, I've supported Rovers home, away and in Europe for some 60 years, and sadly, sometimes my heart rules my head! However, I look at some of the players we have who are capable of winning matches for us and we should be doing far, far better - as Souey used to say, it's the 'big players' who win the matches for you. IMO, Mowbray should be doing far, far better given the players he has, just as Bowyer should have done far, far better given the talent he had at his disposal.
  13. We are in a mess. Financially, we've lost something like £15million / season on average since V's took over and IMO, never really threatened to get back to the PL. You say "Mowbray has put a proper football infrastructure in place, proper football recruitment and Scouting departments in place plus data analysis department" - well what feckin good has it done? YES, four years of mediocrity. As @J*Bposted: 24 game update: 18/19: 31 points, 8 off play offs 19/20: 36 points, 3 off play offs 20/21: 33 points, 7 off play offs (6th place also have game in hand) Statistics don't lie I know what i see with my eyes (maybe Mowbray needs to go to Specsavers) - some of our football is dire. IMO, Mowbray's stuff about being a possession based, progressive, attacking team is a myth, just bullsh1t for the owners and his band of happy clappers. Think Mowbray is right, we are on a journey - sadly, IMO a journey to nowhere at best and at worse, a drift downwards to the bottom of the sea bed Mowbray did get us up at 1st attempt from League 1 but he took us down in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mowbray said at Blues back in Feb 2019 that he was appointed to keep the club up in the Championship. HE FAILED. O'Neill and Warnock were appointed by Stoke and Middlesbrough last season to keep them in the Championship. THEY SUCCEEDED. Both clubs are now better placed in the Championship. No evolution or slow build there - they are good managers, far better than Mowbray IMO, who don't bullsh1t and GET RESULTS. We were the best reourced club in League 1 but, IMO, we unconvincingly limped home behind the mighty Wigan. Can I see progress, no, can I see performances, no, can I see results, no. If you think Mowbray is the answer then only God knows what the question is!!!
  14. We might all as well give up hope then where Rovers are concerned. Think we are in a right feckin mess and only looking downwards. IMO, four years of sheer mediocrity and some utterly abysmal football. Sick of reading about the avuncular, honest, man of integrity Mowbray. Think he's only concerned about one thing and that's himself. Think hanging players out to dry is now common practice and the state of the pitch is now a God send for him. IMO, excuse, after excuse after excuse - TAKE SOME OWNERSHIP / RESPONSIBILITY MOWBRAY. Better still, just feck off.
  15. Think we can all make our feelings known via @richsharpe89 @AndyBayes @PashaSapss - the more noise the better!
  16. I think Gallagher fancied a coaching job at Rovers and it didn't materialise!
  17. Sorry, I think you are wrong. As things are, after 4 years of Mowbray, I don't think we are that much better off than when he arrived. Make no mistake, IMO, we are regressing at a rapid rate of knots. In my eyes, Mowbray's credibility has gone - I think hanging out players to dry is becoming common practice and now he's latched on to the pitch. Well feck me, if, IMO, he hadn't been so profligate with the club's money, that pitch could have been relaid pre Christmas. Think of the money wasted on extended contracts for Hart and Smallwood, money spunked on Pears when we'd just signed the Greek lad who folk were raving about as a prospect and then the totally unnecessary signing of Downing. Think Mowbray is a self purported man of honesty, integrity - well, I don't buy it, IMO, it's about self preservation and number one!
  18. It's saying something but I think Mowbray is becoming Keanesque in his excuses. I think it's one excuse after another. It's NEVER his fault. As Lincoln said “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” Fortunately, for Mowbray, fans are not in Ewood to vent their feelings. I honestly think the Mowbray situation is in danger of turning incredibly sour and he could soon rival Kean and Coyle in the 'hate stakes'.
  19. I think Mowbray spouts utter bullsh1t. I think it's all about self preservation - excuse, after excuse, after excuse - IT'S NEVER HIS FAULT. A decent bloke, a man of integrity - not in my book. The day he goes, I will uncork one of my finest reds in celebration.
  20. Not in my book. Think he has always been an accident waiting to happen - a mistake in him every game. Think he might also be a sandwich short of a picnic!
  21. I think the only persons coming in for him would be the men in white coats!
  22. Awful stuff. Downing's contract would have more than paid for a pitch relay!!!!! Chorley put us to shame. How far we have declined.
  23. Huge goal potential. More than 2.5 goals is a fantastic bet at 13/10. Get on it.
  24. Would not surprise me if we've paid a loan fee up front. There are different ways of doing loan deals in terms of loan fee / wage ratio. Much would depend on Norwich's short term needs. There's more than one way to skin a cat!
