Friend of mine who is a big Blackpool fan and uses their corporate facilities tells me their new manager will be in place within the next two days and by Friday at the very latest. Seemingly, three targets identified and already they are well down the road to finalising appointment. A club with a plan and a CEO who knows what he's doing!

I have never rated Waggott and Mowbray and have posted about this consistently since their appointments. I think the last five and a half years have been wasted. IMO, as a club, we have regressed in every operational area - this is what happens if you employ, IMO, fourth or fifth raters. I think we are a club bereft of passion, nous and hope. Until we employ a first class CEO and football manager we will continue to regress and Venky's will have to continue pumping in some £20million a year or we will go to the wall. It is simply unbelievable that our owners don't see this and under their ownership, IMO, Venky's are the personification of crass stupidity.

With all due respect to the likes of Ainsworth and Warne, I think it's symptomatic of the fears in the fan base about another botched appointment. Even Carvalhal and Farke wouldn't have merited a mention in the halcyon days of Jack. Feck me, we are Blackburn Rovers, a club with great history, traditions and relative recent success (PL, League Cup, Europe qualification). We don't want any more 'steady Eddies' with delusional journey plans in their heads, we don't want, IMO,'has beens' / 'never have beens' like Adkins / Graysons, we don't want, IMO, no hopers like Woodgate, we want someone who is going to ignite the passions of the club and its fans, someone with hunger, aggression and a will to simply win. We may have to roll the dice, take a chance in order to give us some hope of a better, brighter and more exciting future. Surely that is better than continuing in the moribund state we find our beloved Rovers in.

Feck me, would steer well clear of Warne. If Championship experience is a prerequisite (and it wouldn't be for me) then Warne is a serial faiure. Difficult to be more underwhelmed. As I've said before, the devil is in the detail. There is a big difference between a manager who is currently in work (like Ainsworth) and a candidate currently employed in football but not as a manager (like Ferguson).

From Sharpe in LT - like Nicko, two weeks AFTER Ancelotti's phone call and my posting about 'heavyweight' backing for Ferguson: "Ancelotti, winner of four Champions League and domestic titles in four countries, contacted the club to put forward his backing for Ferguson who is the bookmakers favourite to land the Ewood Park job". If you don't like what I post then just put me on ignore.

An interesting one! Some journalists saying he's about to be appointed and Nicko saying he hasn't even been spoken to! For what it's worth, I've been saying for some time the interest in Ferguson was real and strong and I challenged a number of posters on this MB who perhaps have some knowledge of proceedings at Ewood to come out and say Ferguson has not been interviewed - not one did. If Ferguson and Rovers have been in discussions, does anyone really think Ferguson or folk around him or who know him (like Myers) will come out and confirm!?

IMO, shambolic and I don't think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing. Unbelievable that an organisation like Rovers with huge business owners like Venky's can 'shut up shop' for four days over the Bank Holiday weekend. Feckin hell, we are talking about the appointment of THE KEY individual who can either make or break our club! I think this is all reminiscent of the flip flopping and indecision when Coyle was appointed over Warnock and when, IMO, Mowbray was heading for the exit door in April 2021 to be replaced by Wilder or Neil (think as close as Warnock came to getting the job) only for the brakes to be suddenly slammed on. Not even Glen Mullan can make sense of what the hell is presently going on. Understand the DOF will be a very familiar name with Rovers' fans but do worry how effective he will be when seemingly he has no input into the appointment of our next manager.

I think this is where many supporters struggle with Rovers. If Farke was first choice why simply not go all out to appoint him without going through countless interviews and processes! You say Farke was first choice rather than Farke is first choice - does that mean you think circumstances have now changed?
