  1. Have said before on here, I'm not one of the Twitterati and even if I was, if I had any info, why the feck would I just not put it on here like I normally do.
  2. As Souey used to say - 'you wee with the willie you have'! Old managers like Furphy, Lee, Smith, Saxton, Kendall, Mackay etc all had a very limited budgets. They just got on with it and with success!
  3. Understand Big Sam has been in talks with Everton today!!! Given where this has come from, slapped £50 on at 14/1 to be next Everton manager. You could do worse.......................
  4. Wow Gav, I may not post as prodigiously as you but 10k+ posts is a bit more than 'popping up every now and then'! Well until we have a change of ownership, what should we do? Sit on our hands with our mouths closed and pretend all is 'hunky dory'!? We have two actions available to us. One is to vote with our feet and some 10,000+ have done that already and the second is to express ourselves through social media. I actually think part of the existing younger core fan base know nothing better than the situation we find ourselves in - sadly, to them it's the 'norm' and they are easily assuaged by the, IMO, copious streams of bullsh1t emanating from Ewood and Brockhall. To me, one of the final 'convincers' of how rotten I think our management is was the 'secretive' planning of the disposal of Brockhall, or at least part of, to build houses on - to me, that stunk the house out.
  5. Chaddy, stop trying to defend the indefensible. Even the keenest Rovers' fans, and you are probably one of them, should feel able to stand back and make objective judgements - the club and it's employees are not beyond criticism. I think (and I daresay there are many others who think the same) the club's management operation is shambolic and I say that from knowledge and experience accumulated across industry, commerce, sport etc over a number of decades. It deeply pains me what has happened to our club since 2010 and never, ever, in some 60 years or so as a Rovers' supporter have I seen such a disconnect with the fan base. To lose some 12,000 season ticket holders in some 10 years or so is absolutely scandalous and inexcusable. Many, many previous 'diehards' have been lost and I fear they will never return.
  6. I understand Broughton has been meeting both targets and their representatives. If they choose to go elsewhere then he aint doing a feckin good selling job! Bottom line, he's not closing the deal!
  7. Yep, Hirst, Mola, Szmodics, Morton and new contracts for Buckley and Travis were some feckin deals to close! If you have targets and they go elsewhere then your targets were either unrealistic or you have failed. Nonsense, I don't think so - just plain facts which sadly don't sit comfortably with many supporters who would prefer to bury their heads in the sand.
  8. I think many of us recognise they are not the most ideal of owners. However, all successful senior managers are able to manage/lead upwards. Being proactive, having excellent communication skills and being able to persuade/influence are all prerequisites. Not read anywhere that Broughton has even met our owners, if he hasn't then it's time he got off his arse and got to Pune and started to do the job for which he is bloody well paid.
  9. No wind up. Simply factual. Some have mentioned different staff same outcome, some have mentioned budgetary constraints. Two points: Firstly, hire staff who can do the feckin job. Secondly, Broughton knows the budget so he should either fish in the right feckin ponds or wheel and deal. I think indecision and lack of nous and judgement are holding us back. Other clubs with budgetary constraints manage to make signings so why the feck can't we!? There are simply no excuses.
  10. The inability of Broughton and co to close a deal is frightening. There can be no excuses - he is paid a relatively huge amount of money to oil the wheels.
  11. You are absolutely right. Think most fans would take being a 'yo yo' club if over the course of say 5 years the whole club could be put on a more sound footing. Ewood itself is tired and the pitch is totally knackered - putting Ewood and the pitch right (including replacing Riverside Stand) would set you back up to £50million. Additionally, Brockhall needs substantial investment. We've been out of the PL now for 11 years and folk who buy, IMO, Broughton's bullsh1t need to think again. Broughton and JDT's objective on appointment should have been to reach PL THIS SEASON. All this nonsense about objective being to stay there when we get there is total and utter nonsense. Get there first, worry about it when you do - what the fans would give for at least one year back in the PL after, IMO, all the crap, shenanigans and hopelessness of the last 13 years or so.
  12. Firstly, John Williams 'grew' into the role. Initially, I think he made some very questionable decisions/judgements. Waggott is on about £300k pa and I can tell you there would be some queue to take on Waggott's job - there are plenty of sharp and hungry individuals out there who would jump at the chance. I personally know of at least half a dozen individuals with the drive, desire, nous and creativity who would take it on for that sort of money and, IMO, would be a huge, huge improvement on Waggott.
  13. Leeds are certainly right about playing time otherwise what's the point loaning a player out!? Seemingly, Liverpool's stance exactly the same about Morton. Bottom line is we should be fine with that providing we are certain the incoming loanee is far better than anything we have in that position and will substantially improve the team. Elliott did, Morton doesn't, Mola doesn't whilst Hirst, IMO, stunk the place out.
  14. Spot on. I don't mind paying for entertaining and exciting football, feeling we are going somewhere. Will not pay for the dross we are served up and the feeling that that lot out on the grass don't care as much as they should, all ring fenced by, IMO, incessant bullsh1t from first Mowbray and now JDT. Unbelievable we haven't made a single signing yet - other clubs have. IMO, the whole management structure needs feckin sacking.
  15. He is not a young kid. For fecks sake he is 22 in March...................................!!!!! The lad will never, ever make it in Championship. To me League 2 may well be his level.
  16. Yes, an outstanding manager/coach would want to bring in his own players. However, an outstanding manager / coach would also set the side up to get the best out of what he's already got and adapt tactics accordingly. We are uninspiring, boring and IMO, worryingly, for the large part, don't even look interested. Are these players even playing for JDT? To me, today's performance only confirmed many things we already knew - Buckley is vastly over hyped and over rated, Morton couldn't direct traffic, Hedges needs to play on the left side of our team and Vale is like a little boy lost. Kaminski now seems to have developed the yips (high on my recruitment list would be a goalkeeping coach with credibility and proven coaching ability). Great to see Dack regularly playing again - still our best player by a country mile, let's just hope he doesn't get p1ssed off with this shambles.
  17. Avram Grant and Jurgen Klopp both had/have ability. Which one of the two fires you!?
  18. If all had your attitude then we would be doomed to a life of Championship mediocrity at best!!! I look at clubs like Blackpool, Brentford, Huddersfield, Hull, Sheffield United etc all promoted over recent years - if they could do it then why the feck can't we!? We have a Manager and DOF who, seemingly to me, think promotion is beyond us for at least 2 or 3 years. For fecks sake, we need football folk with a CAN DO attitude who live and breathe positivity, breed belief, fire ambition and give supporters REAL HOPE. No point in worrying about what happens if and when we get there, the feckin priority has to be to get there in the shortest possible time and then take it from there.
  19. For far too long, senior management at Ewood has been on easy street and seemingly anything goes and there is little accountability. Where is the decisiveness, the creativity, the flair, the nous, the assertiveness and the judgement? I think the club is devoid of a culture. For a start, we need a 'can do' attitude and a winning mentality - that is created and comes from your senior management team. I've been round the block a few times in the course of my work and I can tell you, IMO, I've rarely seen a business the size of Rovers so severely under managed. All this talk of 'journies', 'projects', 'creating value' etc should be binned as I think it's bullsh1t which Rovers' staff hide behind to deviate from the pressure for success. Supporters don't want to hear it. It's ludicrous that JDT has seemingly dismissed promotion this season - that in itself is a sackable offence. The chief objective for JDT and Broughton for 2022/23 should have been promotion. If you think Broughton has made a decent start then God help us if he bombs.
  20. Managed people all my working life since qualifying as a chartered accountant decades ago and don't have 'people issues'. Everyone is different, some need carrott approach and some need stick approach - what's not in doubt is every individual wants to know where they stand. Judging Broughton over 2 to 3 years is farcical. If I'm brought in to save a company, I'm judged on results in a feckin short space of time!
  21. I've worked with people all my working life (employers, employees and clients). The bottom life is folk want to know what you are about and do you deliver. Anyone can set up a structure and appoint folk - creating the right structure and appointing the right people is another matter!!!
  22. I very much doubt he would have laughed.. I also very much doubt he would have opted for 12 months in the 'ressies' when he could have had a go at plying his trade in the PL with someone like Leeds, Everton, WHU etc. Doesn't matter what time period you are in, you simply don't p1ss about or show indecision or weakness.
  23. You are going on the transfer list. We will invite offers. Should one be acceptable (and anything over £8million should have been) you either accept the move or rot in the 'ressies' until your contract is up. What do you think Brereton would have done? If Broughton hasn't got the expertise and gravitas to deal with our owners then he shouldn't be in the feckin job. He needed to sh1t or get off the pot.
  24. When appointed, the resolution of Brereton's position should have been 2nd on his agenda following the appointment of a new manager. After all, Brereton WAS the club's biggest asset. The discussion with Brereton should have been short and sweet. You either sign a new contract within days or we sell you immediately. Job done. IMO, Broughton has singularly failed to successfully manage the second biggest and most pressing issue when he was appointed. He has failed miserably. New contracts for Buckley and Travis were akin to fiddling whilst Rome burns. Might be tiresome to you but it's time many fans woke up and smelt the coffee instead of swallowing the copious bullsh1t that, IMO, continually emanates from Ewood.
  25. I think we are a business which is severely under managed. The bottom line, IMO, is we have sh1te management from top to bottom - there is no discernible plan or strategy to me and we are just a rudderless ship lost in the ocean.
