  1. FFS - do you not read properly or do you simply not answer uncomfortable questions for you!? I will ask you again, this time please answer either YES or NO IF Sean Dyche was prepared to come and manage Rovers, would you support the appointment YES or NO?
  2. Come on Chaddy, if you are going to respond to my posts then please at least do so in the right context. You posted as above "Would you want an ex dingle in charge here?" I responded "What Rovers' fan in their right mind WOULD NOT WANT Sean Dyche!?!?" I very doubt Dyche would touch us with a sh1tty stick but IF he could be lured here, are you seriously saying you would be against the appointment because he had managed Burnley? As for Alex Neil, don't rule that out. I am told there is even more credibility in that possibility!
  3. Think it will be miracle if Ayala fit. That midfield looks League One. Johnson already injured - you just couldn't write it. IMO, a season too far for Johnson - we never, ever learn. Think Armstrong will be long gone. Think we will be lucky to be out of the bottom six at any point in the season other than on opening day of the season before a ball is kicked!
  4. What Rovers' fan in their right mind WOULD NOT WANT Sean Dyche!?!?
  5. A 'top talent' would have made his mark well before the age of 22. Injuries or not, if Butterworth had it, he would have broken through into a very mediocre Rovers' team quite some time ago.
  6. Nonsense. All the cards are stacked against Rovers. Armstrong walks for nothing in 12 months if that is what he wants. All boils down to Armstrong. Think least likely option is he signs a new contract with Rovers and condemns himself to Championship mediocrity at best - think he and his agent will have a bit more sense than that. Think Rovers will be lucky to net £7/8million after Newcastle's 40% share of any profit. We are not in the driving seat - Armstrong and his agent know that and so do other clubs. I think the incompetence of Waggott and Mowbray has screwed us again.
  7. I get it okay! Even Vince Grella passed a medical when the Rovers' Sports Science team was, IMO, far more clued-up than today's set-up! A medical DOES NOT measure how the body will stand up to physical stresses and strains, however, a player's track record will give you a pretty good indicator. Ayala hadn't kicked a ball in anger for 8 months through when we signed him and you only need to have read the M'boro forums to see what they thought of Ayala and injury!!! The alarm bells should have been screaming in the heads of Waggott and Mowbray especially given Ayala's age!!!! Some players are injury prone as we know to our cost - look how many games even some of our younger players have missed with injury (Nyambe, Lenihan, Davenport, Rankin-Costello, Travis etc). I would put money on each of those 5 players missing at least half a dozen games this coming season through injury. You can predict injuries, given a player's track record, with a high degree of certainty!!!!
  8. and most folk thought Etuhu and Danny Murphy were decent signings !!! As far as I know, there was only the Middle Eastern option on the table for Ayala - I wonder why !? Therefore, especially in light of the 'serious groin injury' you refer to, Rovers should have de-risked the deal. A one year deal with decent basic but big appearance bonus together with a one year option in Rovers' favour. It's not rocket science! If Ayala had said no then we should have moved on and we would have been no worse off, in fact in employment costs and medical bills we would have been £1million+ better off. I wouldn't let Waggott, Mowbray, Venus run a corner shop - IMO, they are not fit for purpose.
  9. We signed Ayala in Sept 2020 on a three year deal when he hadn't kicked a ball in anger for 8 months! In the calendar years 2020 and 2021 so far, out of potentially something like 70 Championship games, Ayala has appeared in just 11 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In my book, those statistics are damning and I think he's a crock. We need players who are going to be fit and available for at least 85% of our games (39 out of 46 league games). To give a bloke of his age, who hadn't kicked a ball in anger for 8 months, a 3 year contact was, IMO, the height of expensive folly and a scandalous waste of money.
  10. If there was a market for Ayala being injured and missing the start of the season then I would be all over it! I honestly don't think we will get more than a dozen games out of him.
  11. Just bear in mind these accounts are for year ending June 2020. In the year to June 2021, income from match receipts / commercial activities will have plumetted. Will be no surprise to me if next set accounts show a £30million loss. Be prepared for anything. I feel pretty certain V's will not allow this situation to continue and may well be the reason Mowbray and Waggott remain in situ (rather than shell out on termination costs) whilst options are considered.
  12. Think one word sums up our operating and financial position: Fecked!
  13. Which Rovers' official has confirmed that and where and when? If we aren't, why has a Head of Recruitment not been appointed and why haven't we signed anyone? I think our club is on its knees and almost down and out.
  14. and we are still under embargo!? I think our football club is moribund and every supporter should be seriously worried.
  15. I'm feckin sure we would! Sadly, I doubt we'll see anything like that. I think we have been screwed again, IMO, by the incompetence of Mowbray and Waggott. I don't think there are any excuses for this abysmal state of affairs.
  16. Lord was signed by Jolly Jack for £10k from Stockport in our first season back in the 2nd Division following relegation from the 1st Division in 1966. Seem to recall Lord had an impressive goals' record in the lower leagues before signing for Rovers but the step up was too great - think he only managed a dozen or so games and i can't remember him notching! Sadly, Frank died of a heart attack in South Africa some 15+ years ago.
  17. Should Rovers enter an insolvency situation, I know of at least two North West parties (from my line of work) who would be interested - please don't ask for names for obvious reasons.
  18. IF Rovers go into Administration then there will be no shortage of buyers - I am absolutely convinced of that.
  19. IMO, a joke of a pricing structure. Not bought my usual season tickets for some time now and would not pay in excess of £2k to watch Mowbray's, IMO, rubbish. Match day prices also, prohibitive. Think if Rovers sell same number (2,500) as last season they will do well. If Waggott had shown some initiative and offered every ticket half price, think at least 5,000 would have been sold - more numbers in ground spending money in club shop, bars etc, yet at least the same ticket revenue. Even if I was contemplating buying season tickets, I would certainly wait until the club's accounts have been filed and also to know of where Rovers stand with the authorities re transfer embargo, ongoing sustainability etc.
  20. Not a snowball's chance in hell of Mowatt joining us. At worse, if he leaves Barnsley, he'll have a choice of real PROGRESSIVE Championship clubs. Think Rovers fecked with Armstrong. Accept what's on the table or risk having a very disenchanted player on the books who'll leave for nowt in 12 months time. Between a rock and a hard place to put it mildly.
  21. With only one year left on his contract, I don't think they have a choice. Armstrong holds all the cards. IMO, that's all he's worth.
  22. If Armstrong's agent has half a brain, he will tell him to sit tight and tell Rovers what to do with their new contract. Either the lad then walks free next season and I think there will be PL clubs who will gamble on him or Rovers reduce their asking price. In reality, I think £25million is ridiculous for a lad who, IMO, has very limited football intelligence. If he goes this summer, think Rovers will end up with less than £10million after Newcastle have taken their 40%. We saw it with Rhodes, despite all the goals banged in at Championship level, a chronic lack of pace meant he would never cut it in the PL. Likewise, I think Armstrong's limited football intelligence will prevent him having much, if any, impact against PL class defenders.
  23. With a Jack Walker style owner, we might have had a chance for Howe. With our current owners, IMO, not a snowball's chance in hell. I think Howe is waiting for the 'right job', preferably PL but he does have Celtic in reserve! A spell at Celtic did Rodgers no harm. I understand Wilder ticked the boxes - track record of promotions and ability to work, as demonstrated with SU, within Rovers' financial framework.
