Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

Don't think Jackson would know an exclusive if it hit him in the face! Don't think it's a secret that he is on the list of Rovers' options. -

Friend of mine is a big Liverpool fan and told me last week there are a couple of young players at Liverpool who would be worth taking on loan - one was Morton (think he's had about a dozen first team starts and still only 19) and also Quansah a centre back who they have very high hopes of and has already made the bench for the first team on occasions. -

Whilst reading through, noticed a number of question marks posed against Dack's fitness, mobility and engine etc. Sadly, I agree. Even before his injuries, I would not have described Dack as a 'great athlete'. I think Dack is really struggling and you wonder what is now left of him as a 'real player'. An expensive conundrum for Rovers. -

Coughlin had so much potential and talent but, IMO, sadly wasted it. He could and should have been a top flight player. Sadly, I don't think he had the mindset of a professional athlete as your tale indicates. Tragically, the lad passed away in his fifties. -

Brotherston was predominantly right footed. He wore 11 and played out on left wing to accommodate Miller, who, IMO, was useless with his left foot and only marginally better with his right foot. I remember one night match at home against Crystal Palace when Brotherston was doing very well for Rovers playing out wide on the right and he came up against a very young Kenny Samson at left back for Palace. It was quite clear that night Samson was a class act and only going to get better whilst perhaps Brotherston had found his level after being released by Spurs on a free transfer. Samson had Brotherston in his pocket from first whistle and Noel barely got a kick. -

@chaddyroversdidn't need to go and see Waggott. He should have saved his best shirt, his after shave and petrol money as I could have told him what Waggott would have to say. Bet Waggott thought in his mind as Chaddy was leaving his office 'well, at least there's one happy fan/customer'! However, I do admire Chaddy's spirit - if Carlsberg did Rovers' fans......................!!! -

The only cloud on the horizon on this glorious summer's day is Rovers. I find it so flecking depressing. Lenihan, Rothwell and Nyambe gone for feck all. Phillips contract unsigned. Think writing is on the wall - we are going to lose him for buttons. Going to lose BBD for a cut price - worse still, he'll just run down the last year of his contract. Not a signing made. Think it's difficult to argue that we are nothing but a fecking shambles and we are fecked as a club -

You are quite wrong. IMO, he should never have been appointed in the first place - there was nothing in his track record to suggest he was the man for us. I think he is a fifth rater and that is being kind. I would not trust the guy as far as I could spit and I think Cole's autobiography said it all. -

Firstly, Broughton is not employed in a marketing capacity and I would not expect him to "communicate the offering" as you say. However, three senior executives / managers who should communicate on a regular basis are Waggott, Broughton and JDT - any fan who does not either understand or believe that needs to give their head a serious wobble - lack of communication is a relationship killer (club and fans in this instance). Who says we are borassic? GB said we had a healthy budget - if he is lying then that is unforgivable. If indeed we are 'skint' then the fans should be told that just like we were at times in the 1970's / 1980's then aspirations can be moderated and frustrations minimised. Broughton's job started on day 1 and that's when judgement starts. At the moment, as far as I can see, he has brought zilch to the party - time for him to either sh1t or get off the pot. We should not make excuses for guys who are paid relative fortunes in comparison to the average fan. . -

I said Broughton should be doing at least 60 hours over the course of the week. If you are young, keen, hungry and ambitious, you do whatever it takes and you often find there aren't enough hours in the week! -

Sorry Chaddy but I think you are wrong and wrong again. For fecks sake, Broughton is the DOF who the fans want to hear from. I'm in a fortunate position where I can pick and choose my work and I'm gradually winding down, however, if there's a big job on and I fancy it and a client needs me then I'm there. -

Not really! When a business need arises I do it myself and I'm some 30 years older than Broughton!!! Must confess, if I do a 60 hour shift, I now take the following week or so after off. -

Mercer replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
With the transfer window open and new to the job, Broughton should be putting in at least 60 hour shifts every week. If he cannot find 20 minutes (0.5% of his time) to sit down with the local reporter once a week over a cup of tea then I think it's a p1ss poor effort. There has to be a reason why we aren't making signings. We don't need to be told about targets we've missed or the next targets in line. However, if it's for financial reasons (wages, fees or both) we are missing out then the fans should be told. Fans themselves have decisions to make, buy a Rovers' season ticket, take the kids away on holiday, put food on the table, turn on the heating. Openness, honesty and transparency are needed. IMO, to say nothing is not acceptable and there are simply no excuses. -

When any senior executive in any organisation doesn't communicate then they very quickly lose credibility and it becomes extremely difficult to claw back. In my line of work, been involved in business acquisitions, takeovers, mergers etc and it's no coincidence that the ones that succeed/fly have a common denominator - key folk communicate well and assuage the concerns of employees, customers and suppliers. -

Stating the blindingly obvious we should look to max out on BD sale! Let's not forget, it seems Forest have a sell on clause and whilst not at Newcastle's 40% for Armstrong, it's unlikely to be less than 20%. I'm wondering where the market is for BD? Think the 'basic' deal for Armstrong was about £15m - based on the fact he's seemingly failed in the PL, at least so far, I think we can forget the add ons! I certainly didn't expect us to get £20m for Armstrong, and I don't think we will, and I would have snapped any club's hand off for £15m. I certainly don't recall saying I only expected us to get the £6-7m you have quoted, so if you can dig out the post where I allegedly made that claim, I would be happy for you to prove me wrong! -

Diaz in last year of his contract and we want silly money - 7 or 8 times Bowler's £3m - Diaz isn't that good! Rovers' conundrum - what do they do with Diaz? IMO, £25m, £20m is stuff for the fairies. Understand there have been enquiries but substantially below £15m. Big risk is we lose another 'big' player for us for feck all. -

Effective communication is essential in all walks of life. To say GB and JDT have been here some 6 weeks, I think we have heard precious little from them. They need to get their arses into gear on many fronts. Communication from Rovers, IMO, is p1ss poor from top to bottom and if Waggott doesn't feck you off again on Monday then you need to tell him that. You are not meeting the Queen or the Pope so go in hard and give him feckin hell - it's no good telling him everything in the garden is rosy with Rovers. -

From memory, I think we averaged 25k or more on about 10 seasons when in the PL peaking at about 28k following PL title win. Prior to that, I think you'll need to go back to 1959/60 season for an average of 25k or more. Following the Wembley Cup final ticket fiasco in 1960, Rovers then lost about 6k fans overnight many vowing not to return and they didn't (5 or 6 were my dad's mates and they were seriously p1ssed-off). -

Don't feckin patronise me. I've supported Rovers for 60ish years home, away and in Europe. I've experienced the giddy heights and the horrible lows of our club. I know what I see, I know what I hear and I know what I feckin understand.
