  1. Firstly, I think this is a bang average league which is wide open. Defensively, we are better equipped with Kaminski, Douglas, Ayala and almost by accident, Del Boy at centre back. In midfield, Holtby is now showing what a real class act he can be. Throw Rothwell and Travis into the mix and also the steady Trybull. Up front, Brereton is now really delivering and looking a real player, Armstrong should get 20 goals / season, Elliott will just get better and better and Dolan will prove a big, big plus (if managed correctly). Dack also to come back. If Mowbray puts players in their best positions (no more square pegs in round holes) and remains positive and lets other teams do the worrying about us then I think we will blow many teams away and we have the ammunition to put even the 'bigger' teams to the sword like Bournemouth and Watford. Confidence and momentum are key to going on a roll - it might be surprising where it takes us!
  2. To quote @Dolly blue "Round pegs in round holes, positive approach , front foot .....all we’ve ever wanted"!
  3. As posted earlier, next 5 games should give us 4 wins and a draw. After 12 games, we will be soarin' and flyin' (lyrics from Breaking Free). Keep saying it but confidence and momentum are everything in this league. Unstoppable, invincible and so powerful (more song lyrics). The wine is working well!
  4. Indeed! What an afternoon. Rovers' romp (could have been 10). Douglas and Elliott big pluses. Holtby and Brereton mega pluses. In play bet of more than 3.5 goals up (just) and 5 acca up - thanks Rovers, Blackpool, Fleetwood, Reading and Norwich. Tomorrow might be a long recovery day!
  5. Good stuff! Let's have two more goals in this game (don't mind if Coventry get one of them) and then I've a good excuse to uncork a Barolo - first bottle of red didn't last long as wife quaffed a few glasses. Brereton for England! (only joking).
  6. Better to come to the party late than not at all..................but 2 years is a bloody long time to wait!
  7. To me, Holtby should be a 10 goal / season man with the positions he gets in. Think he's only netted 2 or 3 times for Rovers whilst close to 20 with Hamburg if my memory's correct.
  8. Think Lenihan's been going backwards for a while. To me, something's not right with Armstrong - form, body language telling.
  9. Odds narrowing a bit but still a couple of 10/1's to be had and 11/1 on Smarkets.
  10. Me too with Blackpool, Fleetwood and Norwich thrown in!
  11. Well stick a fiver on at 14/1 if that's what you feel! That'll be £70 in your back pocket.
  12. Frustrating we aren't capitalising - yet! We should be out of sight. Douglas offering what we thought he would and Brereton continuing, IMO, to morph from donkey to footballer of talent.
  13. Goals are coming! Open your bottle of beer or bottle of wine, get your feet up and enjoy the feast.
  14. Stuck £50 on more than 3.5 goals @ 3.0 after opener. This could / should be a rout!
  15. You are right, we should. Mowbray talks about how we'll look 12 matches down the line. My prediction, 16 points from the next 6 games to shoot us comfortably into the top 6: Coventry (A) win, Reading (H) win, Swansea (A) draw, M'boro (H) win, QPR (H) win, Luton (A) win This is very doable given those fixtures and the players we have. Don't cock it up Mowbray or lose your bottle. The time is now, seize the moment.
  16. IMO, would be ridiculous if he played tomorrow if a a doctor thinks a scan is needed which is usually indicative of a probable suspected diagnosis. As posted previously, heard he was having it scanned yesterday. A 'tight groin' does not normally justify a scan!
  17. I think Lenihan has stopped progressing, in fact, I would say he's regressing. He's 26 now and getting on for 200 games under his belt. With that type of experience, I think he should be reading the game much better and in many respects, IMO, is an accident waiting to happen.
  18. Tough game this. Robins has done a very good job there. Coventry have played 4 of the top 7 in their opening 6 matches and, given the run of difficult opening games, a 5 point return isn't bad for a newly promoted side. Both teams desperately need to avoid defeat so a draw looks likely. With all these games coming up in a short space of time, I fear for Rovers as I still see many teams, IMO, with a superior mental and physical fitness.
  19. You need to change your mentality Chaddy. I once asked you a question - if you were lying on your death bed and the only person who could save you was a 'Dingle' Consultant Surgeon, what would you do? I think we know the answer. All this sh1te about Burnley is a nonsense. Whether it be Coyle, Cook, Dyche or anyone else with a Burnley connection, if they could move Rovers forward as a club then you would snap their hand off. Time you showed some intellectual maturity.
  20. Heard he was having it scanned today - if that is correct, indicative of a tear. Guess we'll know more at tomorrow's presser.
  21. Paul Cook is twiddling his thumbs - we could do a lot worse. Gets results and success wherever he's been. Has that hard nosed winning mentality we are so desperate for.
  22. We are already 6 points off an auto promo place and 4 points off a play off place - I think that's very relevant. Said it many times, a fast start gives confidence and momentum which take you a long, long way in this league especially when it's a bang average year.
  23. Don't buy all this 'we played well nonsense'. If you consistently play well and don't get results then there is a big, big problem. Played 6, lost 3, points 7, league position 14th - those are the facts that count.
  24. Think he showed last night there are causes for concern. Also, think it's ridiculous Pears was on the bench last night. The signing of the Greek lad was hailed as glowing evidence of how good our Euro scouting is - IMO, the inference is that he's seen as not being good enough and is third choice; IMO, absolutely incredulous to give Pears a four year deal - what world do Waggott and Mowbray live in.
