  1. FFS, it's 13 months - don't split hairs. What difference does a month make. Mowbray is just days short of being here for 4 YEARS.
  2. Well you should be very fit as our performance against Rotherham, IMO, absolutely stunk! Happy dog walking then.
  3. We all want attractive football, however............................... Both Stoke and M'boro were in acute danger of relegation last season. O'Neill and Warnock kept them up - something Mowbray failed to do when appointed Rovers' manager O'Neill and Warnock have been in charge of their respective clubs for less than 12 months and after saving them from relegation, they have made them harder to beat and are both 5 points better off than Rovers. Mowbray has had 4 years at it with Rovers and in less than a quarter of that time, O'Neill and Warnock have got their clubs into better positions and, IMO, are more likely to get into the play offs. Like Mark Hughes did with us, O'Neill and Warnock are first making their teams difficult to beat and then with better players (remember our progression to the likes of Bentley, Bellamy, Santa Cruz etc) the style will come as well as the results - that is evolution whereas Mowbray's evolution, IMO, is just bullsh1t for the owners and about self preservation. And, let us not forget, IMO, Mowbray's teams have served up some of the most dire football I've seen with Rovers over his 4 years in charge. I would take O'Neill and Warnock every day of the week over Mowbray as would, I suspect, the majority of Rovers' fans. I think the 'happy clappers' will be playing the same tune in years to come as Mowbray consolidates us as a mid table Championship team at best.
  4. Spot on. I've always maintained that Mowbray, IMO, has never demonstrated as Rovers' manager that he can sort out and organise a team to defend. A team defends from front to back with all players knowing their role - Spurs are an excellent example of this under Mourinho.
  5. and we couldn't beat them so wtf does that make Mowbray and Rovers!?
  6. Means SFA. Would settle for 30% possession with a 2-0 win ala Spurs against Arsenal two weeks ago. Even you must now admit Mowbray is not the man. Almost half a season gone and no win against a top half side. Injuries are irrelevant, all teams have them.
  7. Horrible, horrible and horrible. Even the most staunch of Mowbray's fans must now realise we are going nowhere under, IMO, a dinosaurian manager who is way past his sell by date. Almost half a season gone and we have still to beat a team in the top half of the table. Nearly all aspects of Mowbray's management continue to baffle me. I'm struggling to recall a worse left back than Douglas in Rovers' colours. I'm struggling to understand Mowbray's love-in with Gallagher. Trybull was having a decent game by his standards and gets hooked. Absolutely baffled. I could go on and on but to be frank, I'm totally p1ssed off with Mowbray and Waggott. Lost a bob or two today on Rovers but hey ho, take the rough with the smooth as they've made me plenty this season. Urgently in need of some red wine therapy.
  8. Could turn out to be a stroll in the park for us if we get an early goal.
  9. Still confident of winning. Holtby, Rothwell, Elliott and Armstrong will have too much for Stoke. There's sure to be goals a plenty now with our defence and I've stuck a third bet on - £10 on over 4.5 goals at 7/1. COYB
  10. Think Ayala is the new Grella! Just what the feck are our centre backs made of. Likes of John McNamee, Graham Hawkins, Glen Keeley and Kevin Moran were virtually indestructible! Said it time and time again, you should steer well clear of players known for being injury prone - the M'boro fans knew about Ayala why didn't Mowbray!?
  11. It will be a battle today at Stoke and Ayala might not come through it if not 100% (and I don't think he is by a long chalk).
  12. Arguably, we need two centre halves! Magloire and Carter, IMO, are just not going to make it. Seems like Magloire struggling to get a game anywhere and Carter is all over the place in our 1st team. Nyambe could fill in at a pinch but he is far and away our best right back by a country mile. I have been very disappointed with Douglas - IMO, he's washed up and even less effective than Bell. As for Trybull, IMO, no improvement on either Evans or Smallwood and little wonder Norwich want rid.
  13. It's a Rovers' win here. Stoke have dipped and struggle to score goals - think they are averaging less than a goal per game in recent matches. Both sides have injuries so levels out. The difference for me is that we have two players in particular who can score goals and make things happen (Elliott and Armstrong). Gone big on Rovers' win at 17/10 (well worth a decent sized bet to top those Christmas stockings up!) with a cheeky tenner on 3-1 at 25/1.
  14. It isn't irrational. I think Buckley is so woefully out of his depth it's untrue. You see real maturity, ability and impact with 17 year old Harvey Elliott whilst 21 year old Buckley, IMO, wanders around lost like a 16 year old schoolboy and has virtually zero influence / impact on a game. The contrast could not be more stark.
  15. Buckley is now 21 and, IMO, looks nowhere near a player capable of holding down a place in the Championship. All this stuff about PL interest and being worth £10m is, IMO, for the fairies. I hope the lad proves me wrong and has a stormer tonight and becomes a mainstay of our side but, quite frankly, I think there is a better chance of @chaddyrovers becoming a charity worker in Burnley
  16. A nice guy whose career was effectively finished with a badly broken leg. As a schoolboy/youth international, George was touted as the next Duncan Edwards but that potential didn't really develop. Might be wrong here but seem to recall he debuted for Everton at just 16 or 17 years of age! George lived at Pleasington and worked for Star Paper Mill in sales when his footballing days were finished. Think he moved to the Lake District when he retired and lost track of him then. RIP.
  17. There aren't many who realise that! Sadly, i think Dack's injury will have robbed him of at least half a yard of pace he couldn't afford to lose.
  18. Was leading from start to finish and stormed home by at least 20 lengths! With BOG got 16/5!
  19. Think Buckos Boy failed to finish - IMO, quite appropriate!!! My missus, who choses her nags by the name, had a fiver e/w on Mon Petit Cheri which came second at, wait for it, 200/1! My horse racing bet for the day is also at Plumpton - Little Awkward in the 13.18, you might just get 3/1.
  20. IMO, absolutely right. I think it's all self preservation stuff. I don't think we are moving forward as a club - at best, it's stagnation which will soon turn to regression should Mowbray remain here too much longer.
  21. The type of fixture we love and excel in. This is as big a home banker as you could possibly get. Just a question of how many goals we run in - a minimum of 3 and I'd go as high as 6. Bang on Rovers and fill yer boots for Christmas.
  22. Rotherham (H) - Win Stoke (A) - Draw Sheff Wed (H) - Win Huddersfield (A) - Win Birmingham (A) - Win These, in the main, are easy games which will have Mowbray salivating. The 'flat track bullies' to take 13 out of 15 points. Get every spare penny you have together and bang it on Rovers to beat Rotherham on Wednesday night. Odds aren't great at 5/8 but every £80 will get you a £50 return. I would put a Rovers' win at 98% - these chances don't come round too often. The type of fixture Rovers have breezed this season.
  23. I've based my opinions on what I've seen at Brockhall and wherever else academy teams and Rovers have played. I find it extremely interesting watching our coaching staff both pre match and also during the game and I've not been impressed with this lot! I think Venus would struggle to get a job independently of Mowbray - he's always followed Mowbray around and I think succeeded him in a small number of games in a caretaker capacity. IMO, he's not had the ambition or drive to 'go it alone' or do 'something else' without Mowbray. Think Lowe's been around Rovers for about 10 years or so and I've always thought him to be an uninspiring individual whether it be in the academy or with the first team. As for Benson, I don't think he's ever played the game professionally and I think he first got involved at Carlisle in 'Football in the Community' and Kinder brought him to Rovers about five years ago. IMO, he's out of his depth and thought there was a credibility issue with Raya based on what I saw in pre match and half time routines. Terry Gennoe and Bobby Mimms were respected goalkeeper coaches in the game having both played consistently well at a high level in the game - enough said.
  24. I once spent three days on a job in Hartlepool and without being unfair, I found the folk generally to be a bit of a strange lot - I will diplomatically leave it there.
