  1. Read it again !!! "Adam Armstrong of up to £15m with add-ons" It's in the wording ie UP TO £15million when adds on are taken into account. If it was £15m plus add ons, it would say so!!! I'll back my colleague in NE over any Talkshyte presenter.
  2. The lad missed the 2nd half of last season through injury!!! Hope it isn't going to be another one of those.................................
  3. According to a colleague in NE, it's £15m MAX INCLUDING £3m add ons. £15m max ties in with Hampshire press.
  4. £12m + £3m add ons. Without the add ons, which have to be earned, nets Rovers £9.7m. Rovers got their b@lls squeezed - didn't Rovers want £25million!? Think Southampton's deal is okay given the sh1t hole, IMO, Waggott and Mowbray put us in.
  5. Problem Gav is it's not that simple! If no club coughs-up, we are left with a disenchanted player who will almost certainly either leave in January in a 'cut price' deal or will walk for nothing at the end of the season.
  6. But he hasn't, he's less than 12 months. IF my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle! Time for realism - Rovers between a rock and a hard place.
  7. "a few quid here and there" - IMO, bullsh1t! If you are so close you just get the feckin deal done. Think Mowbray getting his £millions and £quids mixed up!!!
  8. This is Armstrong they are trying to sell and not Messi!!! The market for Armstrong is very limited and the sooner the Rovers realise that and show some realism the better. If they don't, they are going to make the feckin hole they've dug for themselves even bigger.
  9. Pretty certain that no club will pay what Rovers want - IMO, it's grossly inflated and Armstrong isn't worth it. Not a question of not being able to afford but more a realisation of what Armstrong is worth. Bloke down the road wants £4k for his wife's car - I want the car for one of my lads but it is not worth £4k even though I can afford £4k. Offered him £3k which is in line with what he'd get for cash at We Buy Any Car etc. Told him the offer stands for 72 hours - sadly, Rovers will soon find themselves in a similar if not worse situation. Market forces determine a commodity's worth and not wishful thinking!!!
  10. Mowbray and Rovers can squeal all they want. IMO, facts are: Armstrong doesn't want to be here Southampton / Palace / Norwich is the apparent market and none will cough up big money £12million is as good as it will get, leaving us with £8million which is what a few of us on here thought Rovers would end up with for some time I think Rovers are a totally dysfunctional club, and have been for over 10 years, and the situation we are now in is all down to the clueless management of Waggott and Mowbray. Sadly, I think things will only get worse.
  11. I treat the letter with the contempt I think it deserves. Two words for Balaji & Co, Waggott, Mowbray and Venus - feck off.
  12. P1ss-up and brewery come to mind! IMO, just underlines how dysfunctional our club is. Think it's 'funny' how there always seems to be a job for Tony's 'mates'!
  13. European scout gone! https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19491566.blackburn-rovers-head-european-scouting-to-leave-18-months/ Dropping like flies.
  14. Ambition, ambition, ambition. The aim when we came up from League 1 should have been to march straight on to the PL the next season just as Wilder did with Sheff U.. Howard Kendall almost pulled off the same stunt with Rovers some 40 years ago but we missed out on either goal difference or by one point. It shows what good and ambitious managers can achieve and what they are all about. Momentum and confidence are everything below PL. Always thought Mowbray was a p1ss poor manager from when he was appointed and boy the penny seems to be dropping with many fans now.
  15. Kaminski Nyambe Carter Lenihan Pickering Travis Buckley Rothwell Dolan Armstrong Brereton 3-1 Rovers. Great time to play Swansea - missed out in play-offs, no manager, Covid hit and, sadly, a win will buy Mowbray even more time (IMO, he's a bit of a lucky b@st@rd). Attendance - 7,300 which miraculously I think Rovers will announce as 11,100 !
  16. Administration by Christmas, Neil in as manager - not as crazy as some like @chaddyroversmay think. Sadly, I think we are sinking like a stone. I think 5 years of Mowbray & co have done for us.
  17. Nothing surprises me any more where Rovers are concerned. Posted earlier, if Mowbray goes in August then lump all you can on you know who..................
  18. Total b0ll0cks. When we were close to the bottom of old Division 3, Ken Furphy bought John McNamee who was about 31 and he turned out to be an inspirational signing. There have been manu otherds as well. I doubt we will see a penny of the Armstrong money when sold. Consider this - 12 months to June 2020 we lost £22million. Since then, there has been no gate money and commercial income will have fallen off a cliff. If our losses for 12 months to June 2021 are not £30million then I'd be amazed. I posted the other day I thought there was an 80% chance we'd be in administration before Christmas - I'll stick with that. Not as we know it 'Jim' ! If Mowbray walks before end of August, I'd put every penny you have on Neil taking over!
  19. Never been a Mowbray fan since the day he joined even when he took us up in second place to the mighty Wigan - I think you will find my posting has always said that! Even Chaddy would have got us promoted with the facilities we had and the biggest budget in League 1 by a country mile.
  20. The reality is that some other manager might just have got us out of League 1 and with momentum and confidence taken us straight to the PL just as Wilder did with Sheff U.. Keeping Mowbray was a shyte call. He failed to keep us up and IMO, we've made little progress from where we were when Coyle left. We are in one feckin mess and, IMO, that is all down to Mowbray - now that is reality.
  21. It is not defensible!!! Mowbray himself said in Blues in Feb 2019 he was hired to keep Rovers up. One can only assume Mowbray was asked 'can you keep us up' to which he almost certainly replied 'yes' otherwise why the feck hire him!?!? He failed, full stop. If anyone had any nous at Rovers they would have given him a four month contract and fired him off if he failed to keep us up. Context called for - Mowbray was an out of work manager who, IMO, was on the managerial scrapheap! There are simply no excuses for his failure.
  22. Perhaps he's a closet Claret with 6 fingers / hand!
  23. Come on! Mowbray had 15 games to get us out of trouble and we were only 2 or 3 points from 'safety'. I think there were so many games where we snatched a defeat from the jaws of a draw and snatched a draw from the jaws of victory with Mowbray's very poor game management. We were relegated on goal difference and that puts his game management into context - just one more point would have done the job. IMO, without a shadow of a doubt Mowbray failed and he could and should have kept us up - Neil Warnock would have. I think Mowbray's failure to keep us up is indefensible.
  24. No need, I'd give him a call!
