  1. Past hour
  2. Harsh. Refs travel all over to different grounds. He's not to know our pitch is garbage at water drainage. All the other matches in the area were completed with the same rain. If he'd called it off at HT because he thought the pitch might become unplayable in the future we'd have all gone nuts.
  3. This end will more likely be looking to see if they can financially benefit from a replay.
  4. Perhaps not, but a proactive club would try? Or do we just hold our hands up and do nothing? Dont ask, dont get.
  5. In the late 1960’s against Charlton. It was called off at halftime when there were obvious pools of standing water on the pitch. We losing 1-0 but we won the replay later thst season. Just before them scoring we got a break down the right wing the ball was crossed in around the penalty spot into a pool of water. Our striker had an almighty swing at it, ( Alan Gilliver ) a gust of wind blew the ball away like a toy yacht. He missed the ball completely, lost his balance, and fell into the pool of water. Everybody in the ground was laughing, all the players, even the ref.
  6. How come McKenna released his statement and spoke about returning?
  7. Well said, almost 7/8ths of the game played, rovers have a strong case for being awarded the points.
  8. I don't think either team gets to 'make a case', I think it's all done behind closed doors by some bureaucrats at the EFL. IMO I think they'll be in there for about 5 minutes.. "The game was called off for rain" "What do we usually do when that happens?" "We always make them replay the full game" "Okay, we'll do that then"
  9. Almost 80 minutes on the clock, that's almost 7/8ths of the game played. I think Rovers should be awarded the points.
  10. I agree. Although rules do change, I recall the Luton game, referred to earlier, Faz was one booking away from a suspension he was booked and had to serve the ban. The rearranged game was after the point when the number of bookings was raised before triggering a suspension.
  11. The drainage problems were sorted out in the early prem days. The pitch was fantastic and the drainage was excellent. It has been allowed to deteriorate over the past few years by lack of proper maintenance.
  12. Does anyone have any confidence that the club (without a CEO…) will put forward a stronger case than Ipswich for the result to stand. Ipswich will likely already have got a lawyer involved and a strong argument put together. Match will be replayed.
  13. It hasn't yet been announced, but I'm 99.9% sure that all original tickets will be valid for the replayed fixture.
  14. He outmuscled the Rochdale players with ease in the National League Cup. I'll be amazed if he isn't called up to the England youth team soon, looks an incredible talent to me.
  15. The only way a Rovers player would have been injured, is by an Ipswich player, who were over aggressive when rovers got the ball. What was the Ipswich card tally, 4 or 5 yellows and a red.
  16. This would be intentional as the pitch is only as playable as the worst part of it
  17. Anyone know what will happen to match tickets from today for any replayed fixture?
  18. I have already mentioned player safety which will have been paramount in the referees decision. And anybody with a modicum of sense would agree with this.
  19. The bottom line is the club need to address the infrastructure as soon as possible (maybe this summer?). Our pitch drains into a river. Many football grounds are near rivers, but the majority are probably not. What does everyone else do? Why is our pitch drainage worse than every other ground in the top two tiers of England? Maybe something that fans could demand is investigated at the next fans forum, or wherever we're allowed to speak to our crank overlords.
  20. The ref knew the forecast and should have postponed before KO or abandoned at HT when it was 0-0 and 11v11. He made a misjudgement that the pitch would be okay to complete the match and it wasn’t. He represents the EFL so they are not completely devoid of any blame here. Of course when the pitch became waterlogged he was left in a difficult situation and probably had to make the call he did. The ONLY fair conclusion would be to play out the last 10 plus injury time with 11v10. You can never fully match the conditions of the day but this would be far more realistic than restating the whole match 11v11. Clearly just awarding us the 3pts would be very unfair on the opposition….lets be honest, it would be very Rovers to concede one (or 2) in the dying stages against 10 men!
  21. Watch the highlights above. No it wasn’t.
  22. The game against Portsmouth in 2017 was worse than that for the whole game not just last 10 minutes
  23. I looked at the river before kick off, it wasn't that high.
