  1. Past hour
  2. Bristol turned Wrexham down for Vyner early in the day, and the size of the bids was quite public. Would have been fairly easy for someone at Rovers to get on the phone to Wrexham "I hear you are looking to spend upwards of £2M on a centre back"
  3. Of all the things to criticise the club for, I'm not sure this is one of them. Rhodes has just retired, & clearly has a solid relationship with Gestede (which is good for consistency, regardless of what we feel about Gestede). It's a good way for him to start his post-playing career & he clearly has experience to call on from his own career that loanees will be able to relate to & benefit from, and will have good knowledge & contacts at League 1 level specifically that can help find suitable clubs for young players to move to for experience; no doubt finding appropriate clubs for our emerging talent will be his very first priority, given that only 3 are out there currently. I'm actually quite pleased with this appointment, though proof will be in the pudding...
  4. Again, I didn't say that.....
  5. Yep you'd think after 14 years of owning us, these people would be knowledgeable to understand & know that. This goes to show where their priorities are in relation to the club. My 11 year old Godchild would understand that better than the people running this club! 😥
  6. Such an exit of seasoned staff, on and off the field. So that's a refreshing new broom or something rotten in the state of Denmark. The last decade and a half could provide a clue.
  7. When it comes to arguing Waggott vs Gestede/Pasha it feels a bit like arguing whether being punched in the face or kicked in the stomach is better. Neither is a great option. Waggott was, if nothing else, a canny operator who was able to do as instructed by keeping us in the Championship without spending a great deal. He had the ability to charm many who met him and leave them believing things weren't so bad. He was in many ways the perfect person for our owners to have in the CEO position, much like Mowbray was the perfect person for them to have in the managerial seat. With our chronic lack of serious ambition to go beyond trundling along in this division it boggles the mind as to why they'd want to remove either of them.
  8. I’m not sure how JDT left because of RG, I would’ve said it was a budget change “mid project” and Greg Broughtnothing. You might know more than I though.
  9. Well if that is Pasha, we have one thing we can agree on.

  11. Also, we could argue it was Pasha's decisions and general dysfuntion behind the scenes that caused that. And if you mean JE, I think RG had a large hand in that.
  12. I don’t know what you’ve previously said about Waggott either. It doesn’t really matter what definition we put on it, fickle, presumptuous, jumping the gun, not based on reality etc - Steve Waggott had a lot of time here and the paints still peeling off the fucking stadium, so it’ll take more than rumours about dress code to make me agree that the sporting director is more of a twat! Like I said though, all arrows point to more failure, more managers walking because they’re not being backed and more turmoil! Hope I’m wrong. Only one personal responsible for that this season. His head is on the block.
  13. The official line is that he resigned before January and worked his notice, https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24868253.blackburn-rovers-blow-key-member-staff-set-depart/ https://trainingground.guru/jones-steps-down-as-blackburn-academy-boss-after-13-years/#:~:text=Head of Academy Stuart Jones,Head of Academy in 2017. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/may/05/stuart-jones-/
  14. Do we know why Stuart Jones was sacked after 13 years service?
  15. You must imagine Ismael has the patience of a saint if Rhodes won't be taking his job until June 😉 Most of our head coaches don't last much beyond Christmas these days
  16. It would be fickle if I had said previously that RG was ok or a good appointment. Surprisingly, I never did.
  17. By the end of that contract he'll be taking over as head coach on a rolling deal, because nobody else will want it. 😅
  18. Hyam is a bog standard championship CB, whose best qualities are his injury and disciplinary records. He'll be a big loss to us because we're crap.
  19. I don’t think that was Gestede! Seriously though I don’t know, but there’s only been one “director” at Ewood ever since the owners darkened our door.
  20. It would be interesting to know if Rhodes has a one year contract as per the ad and the minimum qualifications stated in it too.
  21. Who was actually in charge? Same question I suspect as who actually interviewed and chose Owen Coyle as manager? Something which has never been answered.
  22. You do you.
  23. My response was specifically at the part of your comment which I highlighted in bold
  24. Well at least you understood the post then. Thank you, hadn’t really known that. Don’t really understand how it relates to Rhodes being appointed.
  25. It was, I posted the advertisement on here in June Here it is https://jobs4football.com/job/loan-manager/ It was also advertised on Rovers website
  26. Nobody, but to compare his adequacy to the role to your own, is tantamount to the pub favourite “my Granma would’ve scored that”
