  1. Past hour
  2. Ah the Brentford or even B###'##y model ! Yes it is quite straight forwards to any well structured and ambitious club but sadly the opposite applies here it's now sell to pay the bills. Then use the loose change from that to fill out the squad and expect the latest head coach to perform a few miracles with them.
  3. He has, but like you say it has stalled. No way he ends up there.
  4. It's such ab obvious smokescreen to try and deflect from the failure with Brittain. I for one do not see a scenario where we sign a replacement for Brittain, we already have him in Alebiosu, who while I thin might be decent is a downgrade.
  5. He might have thought he knew but he didn’t know Chaddy - because he couldn’t know. No manager under Venkys ownership has understood them.
  6. Funny how these "club are keen to sort a new contract for Hyam" stories have suddenly appeared following the unwelcome news that Brittain is off. Interestingly, why weren't the club so keen to negotiate a new contract with Hyam when we activated his 1 year option? Why not just sit down and thrash out a new deal at that point?
  7. Gassama agreed terms with Rangers already no? Sheff Wed haven't sanctioned it because they want more money suddenly
  8. Anyone else more concerned that we probably wont replace the position, rather the thought of the club letting Dolan walk for free? I have a bad memory so can anyone say if there had been bids for him in the last 2 or 3 years? If he accepted the offer, the discussion after the first game would just pivot back to people getting irate at dolan running into dead ends down the flanks again. We wouldn't shift him for money, because there are probably better players available for those willing to pay.
  9. The Shangri-Las - Past, Present And Future
  10. They played well yesterday. Shows what a good coach can do.
  11. Completely agree, but of all the scenario's that could happen, this one has zero chance. Brittains replacement is already here, and there isn't a chance on earth that we could get Gassama under this regime.
  12. Let’s see if we sign anybody worthy of a place in the team. I suspect you won’t have to wait long Jim.
  13. I was wrong. Chelsea the annointed world champs baby. A whole season of "champions of the world, you'll never sing that"
  14. I don't think he needs nor is looking for sympathy he's just highlighted the things that are wrong here and what he has to deal with and what he'd like to see ironed out whilst he's here. He's just stating the obvious really as all those before him have but he'll soon realise it's pointless.
  15. And we only did that because of Derek Shaw, who also just happened to be a business partner of Appleton ! Every other one post Bowyer had been dumped by previous clubs and sat at home for months also allegedly brought in by the same agents. A notable exception for JDT who had great success then left to pursue something different and he himself was an 11th hour appointment after something else fell through. Unsurprisingly to anyone with half a brain he also turned out to be probably the best of the lot even if it was only for a season before the usual gremlins got to work to spoil everything.
  16. Sell Britain for 3 million and put that towards bringing Drameh in from Hull and Gassama for Sheffield Wednesday. Two good young championship level players with high sell on it’s too simple
  17. The business was originally started by their parents, The idiots who own Rovers inherited what was presumably a 20 odd year old successful business with an infrastructure in place to keep it ticking over, and in the time that they have been running it, they (at least look to - on account of the court case etc) have got themselves into hot water with their own government. They are also involved in pharmaceuticals, which is enough to turn us all into anti vaxers at the thought of it πŸ˜‰
  18. Exactly my point so I find it hard to have loads of sympathy for him. Saying it’s obvious he’s becoming really frustrated etc well he chose to accept the job do I wish that any new manager in the door is given the proper resources with little to no interference absolutely but there’s a clear history and patter that isn’t the case so accept the role at your own peril
  19. They could easily do that if they employed competent, driven people to run the club. Instead they employ their lackey and bleed tens of millions a year (allegedly). I've no idea how they're rich - the poultry business must be a piece of piss if they run their other businesses this poorly.
  20. Give me the nod and I'll open the new season's relegation thread
  21. Only time we have done it in the venkys era is when we poached Michael Appleton from Blackpool in 2013 for a bit of compo.
  22. WOW TWO WEEKS .....
  23. Yes it's where Venky's always recruit our gaffers from haven't you noticed yet ? Would you like to tell us the last time Blackburn Rovers sourced a well performing manager from another club ? Even Derby managed to do that AND pay compensation.
  24. The half time show was something to behold, including a shot of Agent Orange.
  25. I would be amazed if that happens. Like Travis, Tronstad, Brittain & Dolan, Hyams wage demands will be more than the club are prepared to pay
  26. Aye but when you are sat at home doing nothing living off your previous payout and a contract lands in front of you worth a million quid win, lose, draw, sacked or not sacked you'll not think twice about signing it. Doesn't really matter what horrors await you does it.
