  1. Past hour
  2. Just one game and he's back in treatment room. Absolutely unreliable. Failure to sign a proper Hyam replacement is surely going to be costly.
  3. He may have done. (Although its a different ask playing right of a back 3). But we wanted a right back to compete and signed Alebiosu. We then went ahead with Miller as soon as a fee for Brittain was agreed. Therefore its a safe assumption that he was signed to take his place in the squad at right back. Either way, we are massively short of reliable defenders.
  4. I'm sure the Hibs fan who got in contact said Miller played his better football at centre half and Alebiosu was the better right back.
  5. I haven't heard anything. As we discussed earlier last week the coming week will be telling in terms of resources and availability.
  6. I agree with everything you've put. I just hope he might end up capable of performing well, but I agree that wasn't the plan. Our back 4 is going to end up patched up and different most weeks because of reasons you've put.
  7. Any news on Mansbridge or Leeming? Not seen much (if any) of them this season
  8. I am not having that he was signed predominantly to be a centre back. See my above post. But either way, we are massively short of defenders that can stay fit, due to the clubs negligence.
  9. Not been seen on the pitch since pre season https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/july/31/report--rovers-under-18s-1-0-crewe-alexandra-under-18s-/ Can't be quietly moved on as he is under contract for another 2 years https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/may/15/introducing-the-class-of-2025-/
  10. But the original discussion surrounded the fact that Carter has already again seemingly picked up an injury. We have no natural centre backs who are right footed who can play matches consecutively. Its negligence. We wanted a right back in the summer to compete and signed Alebiosu. We then signed Miller within 24 hours of Brittain leaving. That gave us 2 right backs which is fine. Now they are trying to spin it that we always intended to sign him as a centre back. Even if it turns out that he plays predominantly at centre back. We are short both there and at right back. Might be able to make do now, early in the season with 1 game a week, we wont as the games mount up.
  11. He was in a boot a few weeks ago. I was told it was a five week out injury but not what the actual injury was.
  12. Aye, it's the football fan's get out of jail free card, if you're wrong put it down to luck.
  13. Crushing blow that.
  14. Can anyone confirm the whereabouts of Harvey Higgins? Some have mentioned he's injured, hopefully he's not been quietly moved on elsewhere.
  15. Two sick note centre halves to replace an ever.present, IDIOTS they are just STUPID. When it comes to ability both.are.netter than Hyam in my my opinion but keeping them on the pitch is a definate issue.
  16. It’s just raining. Nothing special. It will be on.
  17. Yes he was by time he left and at end of 05/06 season started there in the world cup. Agree squad depth poor, but that's not relevant to if he can play centre half. That's Rudys fault for letting hyam go.
  18. Yes - I think youd get good odds that Wharton and Carter between them wont play as many games as Hyam did last season. We could end up like a few years ago under Mowbray where we were forced to play 343 with full backs as wide cbs to get to a full XI. Im sure we will see a lot of Pickering/Riberio/Alebiouso playing wide cbs when we are in the midst of 3 games a week. If it works fine as we have enough options in that setup. But if it does why isnt it our preferred lineup now?
  19. He wasnt a centre back here though. But either way, even if he does turn (luck rather than judgement as you say) into a Championship capable centre back. We are still short not only there but also then at right back.
  20. Ipswich will have done their homework on the 11 that started against Watford. Mix it up a bit, and confuse them. I'd start with Gudjohnssen, give him more time to get of the mark, then introduce Ohashi.
  21. Im not on about whether Miller will be a good signing. Im talking about the negligence shown in letting Hyam go and leaving us with only one natural right footed centre back, and one whose body simply cannot be relied on at Championship level. One game and its already broken down. It will cost us being so short as the season goes on.
  22. Agree Chaddy. Lucas Neill was a hit headed Aussie signed as a right back, became a very solid centre back. It'll be luck rather than judgement if Miller can be a long term option, but might be capable
  23. We might win if you don't turn up, with your doom and gloom predictions.
