  1. Past hour
  2. Transfers will happen soon. Just waiting on other agents to cross every other team off the list until they get to Rovers. Then the dross will flow in
  3. Yourself are always looking for something not there between Gestede/Owen and Ismael aren't Align. exactly, but 1000% wont name who this well respected journalist is there tho. Most journalists have a twitter account to post things online even if their news paper or other media to post the story very good example points Massive gamble for Derby playing that amount of money for an unknown striker from MLS
  4. It is possible Eustace's agent was enquiring about other jobs on the quiet not everything in football has a journo on the end of it. Anyway i'm sure font of knowledge and truth Nixon could clear it up if someone asked and by the way enquiring about a job and sticking your cv in are two different things.
  5. As a general rule of thumb, and not just for sport, I find it best to look at whatever pleases Americans and head firmly in the opposite direction.
  6. Fair enough. I just don't believe you. Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday has been applying for other jobs and that has been all over the media. I think this supposedly well respected yet mystery journalist would have published a story about a Championship manager applying for another Championship job much lower down the table rather than confiding in you who he happened to know.
  7. Certainly Cantwell, around 12 months ago - he had a few options available to him, but JE sold him the club / role / etc.
  8. Set your expectations lower. You’ll probably still end up disappointed but it won’t feel so bad.
  9. Yep! You really don't understand journalism or have a clue how it works do you? Do you really think John Eustace applying for a job at another club merited publishing a story in a serious publication? Maybe there would have been a story if it had been Pep, Klopp, Arteta etc Did you see reports anywhere about the other jobs we are given to understand Eustace was interested in (Coventry, PNE, Stoke, WBA)? There are a number on this MB who pick things up from various sources who posted about Eustace applying for other jobs There is a plethora of behind-the-scene activities and matters in a football club at any one time with very few of these seeing the light of day in media/press for various reasons. Even at a local level, Bayes and, to a lesser degree, Jackson will have a knowledge of the many behind-the-scene activities and matters at Rovers but you will not see these in the LT or aired on BBC Lancashire, again for various reasons.
  10. Goodo. Looking forward to who the next Rudy Gestede randomer rocks up at Brockhall. I'm surprised there haven't been any links with anyone else from the J-League, or was that John Parks work to get Yuki in last summer?
  11. Today
  12. it`s all lies, spin and gravytrain riding, until the rotten core are overthrown it`s always going to be this way
  13. I know this was a rhetorical question but I can’t say I love modern football one little bit.
  14. Gonna rematch the 3 stooges video to see what else was promised
  15. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25055813.blackburn-contract-talks-futures-three-key-players/ This was Gestede quoted on 1st April. Nearly 3 months on and total and utter failure to do any of what he was talking about. Giving Forshaw another year all he has managed.
  16. There is your right my point was he would/should have known this before taking the job….as stated it is all for there to see and played out publicly by JDT
  17. Every time I see this topic as a "red hot thread" I think we've signed someone πŸ˜ͺ
  18. You don't give up a secure job when sat in the top 6 in February, in with a shot of becoming a Premier League manager, and gamble your career and reputation on an uphill struggle to avoid League One at skint Derby unless you are desperate to get away. Somehow I don't believe that the hours drive it saved was the crucial factor. Something deeply, deeply wrong behind the scenes and has been for a while and 'alignment' isn't the word for it Funny how travel keeps cropping up here as a reason for people leaving. Convenient because location is one thing the wretches cannot affect or control yet doesn't appear to be the issue at any other North West club. They make out like we are Plymouth, Norwich or some other distant backwater.
  19. still concentrating on the lower intestines of european football,no doubt there will be links to someone this week
  20. Got to be honest... If we were looking to spunk 8 million on a striker from the MLS I'd be pretty concerned to be honest. It just simply doesn't look like sensible business. Whilst I'd like Rovers to be showing more ambition I certainly wouldn't want them to be gambling big money on unproven players from shite leagues. Picking up players for 2-3 million I would argue is the way most championship clubs should be operating, with the exception of yoyo clubs. How many players are you going to sign in the championship that you can sell for massive money? Not many. If they sign this guy for 8 million what are the chances they could sell him for double? Not great IMO.
  21. Aligned for now yes but lets not forget he was on the scrapheap for 12 months so he'll be aligned to the wage more than anything. I'm sure he'll be delighted if we are in 4th place in January and he gets a loan from Sunderland reserves and a 500k kid to develop from Southampton.
  22. So a well respected journalist had information that wasnt reported anywhere else and instead of publishing a story, he told you?
  23. Not sure man who responded read the most important bit of my post these managers know what their are getting into at rovers….so Iv little sympathy for any of them
  24. So have we had any more links to players or are we now just debating Eustace and Derby again?
  25. And if the coach is asking for players that the club says they can't afford, and swaps the play offs for a relegation battle, has he engineered a move? I'm guessing the truth lies somewhere in between, and highlights my initial post. Gestede and Ismael being aligned on transfers is the most important thing for Rovers this summer.
  26. Seemingly Derby are preparing to spend big on a striker. Meanwhile Our DOF has proudly delivered the inspiring message that the days of us parting with a large fee for a player are over. I'd suggest that has a bit more to do with it than the respective distances from his doorstep.
