Ignoring the fact we won't be signing him, nor do we play with wingers - Clearey has had 6 months of OK form. Not what we need -

Nothing about this makes sense. Why are we even trying to sign a winger when we dont play with wingers? It wont happen anyway, I think thats pretty clear. -

The data suggesting either of those lumps could play football in general is the biggest flaw -
Finally some decent (I hope useful) info. I shall quote her in full so none of it is my fault if incorrect: ‘Hey Michael, more than happy to help. Admittedly all of my murals have been commissioned by councils so a lot of the sites have mostly been approved but I have a rough idea of procedure. Firstly, it's worth talking to the council regardless because they might know of some funding pots for national heritage funds and prosperity funds. Especially with it being the legacy of Rovers. Murals aren't cheap so the more funding assistance the better. They might also have council owned walls for your project. Owner's permission is a big must. Double check that buildings aren't listed or very close to a listed building. If so you'll have to go through a long drawn out planning permission process and it can take ages (personally from experience) It's worth getting planning permission in general though. It protects you from the keyboard warriors. Planning permission can involve a consultation phase, like letters of notice stuck to lampposts and letters to neighbouring homes that a large mural is going to be on site and then people have a chance to oppose it. Once you've jumped over that big hurdle, if people complain during or after the mural is done then... Tough! It's council approved! If you don't have planning permission, sod's law you'll get a Venkys revolt against the hard work, complain really loudly (on Facebook usually) and then the council will come and tell you no.’ To her credit, she is not a football fan, and hates Venkys vicariously through me.

Theres a lot of shoehorning going on. Pickering at wing back? Henriksson up front? Kargbo up front? Miller as a wing back? Litherland as wing back? Even McLaughlin in the middle of a back 3? Yeah, all of that is fine, no need to try and improve. To be fair this Cleary rumour screams of a typical transfer window one that grows legs but comes to nothing. -

I have not suggested that Pratt should be loaned out, youve made that up. I have been pretty clear that I wouldn't and that I would probably play him over McLaughlin as it stands on the left if we were to sign a centre back for the middle. On Litherland, I have praised him too but just dont think its good either for him or us to consider him the direct alternative to the far more attacking and dangerous Alebiosu for the rest of the season away from his natural position. It should be either a case of keeping hin as a centre back or failing that, a short term loan to allow him to develop like Wharton did physically in preperation to push him on ahead of next season. But if it is easier and needs you to make stuff up to justify, yes I am totally against developing young players. It seems to be a narrative you want to push to justify the inevitable inadequate recruitment about to come. For yourself, you seem to have a policy of lets make do that suits these owners down to the ground. I dont want he can do a job there, I actually want he can thrive there, I want to improve. Pickering is not a wing back, I am unsure what has changed from you repeatedly suggesting his sale up until a few days ago. Miller is really poor on the ball. Its all well and good him playing there for Australia against really weak countries, we have no idea if he actually does that job well for Australia. Playing at centre back is much more suitable for him. -

The data says he can 😉 It also apparently said De Neve could play wing back and Tavares could play the Tronstad role, so there may be some flaws in the methodology -

Or they could sign an actual striker that does play that role rather than trying to shoehorn someone in who hasn't played that role before. -

We've 5 or 6 players due back in January, Montgomery could be fit for the Charlton game. We definitely need to strengthen our strikeforce in the January transfer window. -

Maybe...but odd they all went off sale at the same time We was in jk for the wolves cup game last year...similar thing happened then (someone was going to join us) We got an email that jack's kitchen had been moved into the 95 club due to low take up,they split the room with different food options at either side...the way the tickets went off sale i'm guessing the same thing is happening I could very well be wrong though! -

Was there a Dutch striker we were interested in before the close of the summer window? Smit I think but could be wrong? knowing our penchant for revisiting previous deals this could be one to watch. Can’t even remember the club and his stats were poor but he was a target man type from memory -

If the centre back is Ben Gibson then he is a slow left footer (Wharton cover in the middle of the 3), who will not be utilised as a right sided centre back -
How long until the end of Venkys?
Vinjay replied to ilian22's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
You don't even need creative methods though they don't hurt. The problem there is expecting the Blackburn public to have imagination. You just need to be relentless in your mission. Back in 2005 when I starting using this forum in my justified campaign against the Walkers it was still mainly pre-social media as it is now. Sure there was Facebook and Myspace but it was more about social connection than it is now. Then more and more people saw the opportunity to get their point across. It's gotten to the point where you can't even comment on an actor or sports star without people bringing up the slightest moral lapse in their past. Or calling them bigots if they complain about something perfectly reasonable like being stuck next to a fat person on a long flight. I don't want to get too big on conspiracy theories (usually stick to football with them) but some of those tech billionaires at Silicon Valley probably knew exactly what they were doing. As I said recently maybe the next big trend is celebrity ownership. I was right to recognise more would follow Abramovich though I never expected a ban on ambition. Infact tomorrow would be the perfect time to highlight that there is a much more historical successful club (with a more marketable name and a better kit when it isn't tainted by a garbage sponsor) that could easily outdo what Reynolds and McElhenny have done without needing 3 promotions. Someone who makes them look like d-listers and could help Venkys save face. It could be one or two individuals or a consortium intent on using their name presence to transform a club overnight. Jack Walker was probably the first person to do that instantly albeit at a club where many fans could still remember being title challengers (in the 60's) and being more historically successful than Liverpool. Will you use tomorrow's game to highlight that at the stadium or in social media? I know by now to expect absolutely nothing. Prove me wrong for once. -
