would it not be david thompson last to be called up and david dunn last capped??

Thommo missed out on his call up due to a knee injury.

Jansen travelled with the squad then has that horriable acciedent.

Dunn yes but was he at brum or us? in 2002 vs portugal right?

The Valeri lad came on at the end for Bulgaria tonight last 10 minutes against NI...fluffed his lines twice in succession and those were the only touches he got. Very similar in stature to Matty and hopefully something we aren't going to miss out on.

I hear Maceo Rigters will be going out on loan very shortly. There are a couple of lower division clubs keen, including one big name...

Probably best for him to go and pay some serious football rather than the odd reserve game. He hasn't done much since he came over and this will be a chance for him to show if he has anything or was just a flash in the pan for Holland at the Euro under-21 finals.

Off the radar for a bit...name the clubs later if it doesn't come out.

this bit was quite touching though even if it was written in the worst form of english imaginable:

Ive jus recently signed a 2 year sclorarship contract that wil keep me at Sparrows Lane until the 08/09 season where after that i hope 2 get my 1st pro contract wiv da onli club i hav eva been at everybody wish me luck in da amazin dream dat im pursuing n hopefully my family wont ever hav 2 suffer agen.

Anthony Annan is one of the players of the tournament as host nation Ghana continue to progress, and his current club Start have revealed the midfielder almost moved to Ewood Park.

"Anthony should have gone to Blackburn," the Norwegian club's sporting director Svein Mathisen told Sky Sports.

"But he did not get a work permit so we managed to sign him. He is doing well for us and we have him on a long-term contract to 2011 - but it would not surprise us if he left in the summer."

this is the same player that essien is now recommending to chelsea....

yet again - show's hughes can spot a player....

wonder if we could come in for him again? his performances might have inflated his price beyond our means now though...

Leeds United are the club keen on Rigters...Cardiff quite fancy him too.

From what I hear Rovers will let him out which will be a good thing for all concerned. He's going backwards in the reserves and needs some serious first-team action.

The kid from Charlton IS training with Rovers just now. Seems a lively boy.

Missed the Ghana game...did Annan do much?

PS...The Sun very kindly followed up the Mirror story on Chelsea's interest in Annan today - two days late.
