roverfanuk Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 In my opinion, the club needs 3 new signings without Roque and Bentley leaving... CAM, RB and some competition for the wings should Bentley stay. If Bentley leaves, we will obviously need a replacement for him. But if both he and Cruz leaves, i think we should get shot of Roberts and Benni, and bring in a new frontline with the cash we have. Might as well buy some decent ones with the money we have got whilst we can... Javier Saviola and Nicklas Bendtner are two players id love to see at Ewood. It's a shame that if were going to sell Cruz for 20ish million, that we wont have time to put in a bid for Mauro Zarate.

Exiledfan Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Rolling, rolling, rolling. Stalling, stalling, stalling more like.
broadsword Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 If you own a club you can ask for whatever you like... yeah, but it doesn't mean anyone's going to meet the price ...
socngill Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Reported in the LET today that Knox has joined, we will be appointing a new goalkeeping coach by Monday and that Williams will be looking at a few targets that Ince has identified. Things are starting to move - at last!
Flopsy Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 His agent has said otherwise. it's not a done deal yet. Those Greeks - they just can't wait can they errrr, do you wish to have a european football geography lesson?
b12_simon Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 errrr, do you wish to have a european football geography lesson? Maybe he thinks Kewell's Greek
nicko Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 His agent has said otherwise. it's not a done deal yet. Those Greeks - they just can't wait can they Yes, indeed. But Kewell will sign in all probability...as it said in the always-reliable Daily Mirror today. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...89520-20630991/

socngill Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 errrr, do you wish to have a european football geography lesson? Yes please Turkish, Greek. it's all the same....
socngill Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 I will avoid the obvious 'oh really?' remark for fear of upsetting some delicate posters. Sorry nicko, I didn't realise you had confirmed that he had signed and the other stuff about the goalkeeping coach etc. I shall check through your previous posts more thoroughly in future...
nicko Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 Sorry nicko, I didn't realise you had confirmed that he had signed and the other stuff about the goalkeeping coach etc. I shall check through your previous posts more thoroughly in future... Wasn't aiming that at you...just a couple of LET loyalists who only believe what they read there. Usually a few days after it has been elsewhere. The goalkeeping coach may well be Bobby Mimms, but that is unconfirmed.
socngill Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Mr Funny Face himself!!! Has he been involved with coaching since hanging up his gloves? Never struck me as a particularly great goalkeeper and not sure he would gain the greatest amount of respect - unlike sombody like Flowers, but then I think he is tied up as an assistant these days and would probably not take a step back.
Lathund Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Yes please Turkish, Greek. it's all the same.... Should try saying that to a Turk or a Greek
yoda Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Should try saying that to a Turk or a Greek That would start a war
Manc Rover Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 What about approaching Matt Dickens as goalkeeping coach? A true Rovers legend!
neophox Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 From LET and John Williams: “It was a constructive session and I’ll now be discreetly pursuing a number of transfer targets,” added the Rovers chairman. Well time to roll on silly season with speculation!
Eddie Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 mimms is at wolves as a goalkeeping coach. Was he there when Ince was?
