thenodrog
As I said I may be proven wrong tgm. Early reports in the LT suggested the former.

philipl
This is surreal. Sarahy Palin being interviewed whilst a guy kills turkeys behind her (slowly) whilst turning round and grinning at the camera. This woman is walking pastiche. Clad in burberry scarf and clutching a polystyrene coffee, she describes being at the turkey farm as "neat".
Rovermatt
I saw this yesterday. Is anyone able to explain what exactly the guy is doing with the Turkeys? What is that big silver cylinder for?
philipl
I saw this yesterday. Is anyone able to explain what exactly the guy is doing with the Turkeys? What is that big silver cylinder for? He puts them in head down and he wrings their necks dangling out of the bottom. The weight of their body in the funnel means they cannot struggle or escape. It should be done very quickly but he's so busy gawking at the camera, the whole thing is grotesquely cruel.
Rovermatt
Oh I thought he may have been cutting their heads off since they blurred out the carcass once he removed it. Why does he continue to hold them in there after he's done the deed? I thought maybe he was draining blood or something.

philipl
Now 100 and something days into the Obama Presidency, we have judgements ranging from Obama the irresponsible socialist (crikey what does that make W's deficit?) to Obama the stooge of the right in not defending civil liberties. It does seem that as the fall out from the bust of the banking bubble gradually passes from the news, the problems of the previous administration's legacy are becoming ever more pressing. Ok, a liberal writer in the liberal New York Times but I suspect the genie is out of the bottle in terms of the crimes and crass misjudgements of the Bush administration. My guess is Obama knows this all too well and is taking positions which enables his White House to be seen as having been honest broker for the establishment and non-partisan. As a lawyer he will also know that the place for the unpublished photos to be aired is now the Court room, not the world's newswires.
adopted scouser
http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=175817 Bloke doesn't offend me, just a mouthy @#/? who needs a slap. What is interesting is that this long running case had finally arrived with the prosecution approved and imminent, when Obama's administration refused to proceed. ??? Just another contributory factor to his decline in the polls, he'll probably be out in 2012.
Rovermatt
The Republicans are stalling every piece of essential legislation moving through the Senate. They're completely in thrall to their lunatic base and have no candidate even remotely capable of taking on Obama (Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Sarah Palin? Please). If he's out in 2012 it'll be through his own abject failures.
Billy Castell
If Palin becomes President, then the world will end. We can't have someone even more stupid than George W Bush in charge of preparing a salad, let alone a whole country.

If he's out in 2012 it'll be through his own abject failures. There's a lot more there than that. If I had to put money on it at the moment I would say that there candidate will be Mitch Daniels, who would be a tough opponent for Obama (very well educated and a pretty decent record when it comes to the economy). They also have Ron Paul (if they feel like losing the election with kooky policies) or Marco Rubio if they really want to change the face of the party, but I really doubt that they would do anything that radical. If they are smart they'll go with Daniels.
RibbleValleyRover
If they can find a credible candidate then I could see Obama being a one term president. He is far from popular at the moment and has been perceived as being weak and indecisive on a number of issues. The healthcare issue in particular has annoyed a lot of Americans.
