Ricky Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Well Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United definitely have. I'm pretty sure the new Villa one and Spurs new one were state of the art too. Ours was definitely one of the best in Europe when it was built but most clubs have caught up now.

joey_big_nose Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Annan has been on the radar for over a year. Sable is new. Bassye is new. Roque Junior has been around for months...odd one that. By the way, no-one questioned my claims that Man City are skint today? How peculiar. Hey Nicko, what is the deal with Cruz Junior. Genuinely talented or just a way to tie Rocky to the club? And does the signing of more "budget" defensive midfielders suggest we are going to go hollywood on a right winger? Any names being bandied about?
nicko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Hey Nicko, what is the deal with Rowue Junior. Genuinely talented or just a way to tie Rocky to the club? Does the signing of more "budget" defensive midfielders suggest we are going to go hollywood on a right winger? Any names being bandied about? The Santa Cruz thing is quite a good idea...but would go out of the window if a big club got their cash out for Roque nonetheless. As for the new arrivals, etc...I liked that 'try before you buy' line the other day. And I am sure the Trustees will be happy if the money goes to cut the debts.
BRFC95 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nowt wrong with Pendle Hill Do you feel a natural affinity with Pendle hill mum?

There will be blue murder if we don't invest some of the Bentley money in at least one good player with a name people recognise.
RoverRich Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko, you say Annan has impressed in training, do you reckon its only a matter of time before we sign him? And do you actually know any names of any right wingers that we have looked at or are looking at?
rebelmswar Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 There will be blue murder if we don't invest some of the Bentley money in at least one good player with a name people recognise. Well you better tell phil to get ready as Ince will not see that much money. He will get the 10 Mill Hughes was promised at the maximum, I feel he will be lucky to see that this transfer window.
JohnS Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Man City are in trouble, Corlucka on his way to Spurs according to reports, any truth in that Nicko? Are we likely to spend all of the Bentley fee by the end of the month? Nicko, also why are transfers been so difficult this summer for clubs.
almuncle Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Any info on whether Benni is going or is he part of Inces plans?
OJRovers Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko - Are Annan/Sable seen as the quality defensive midfielder than John Williams said was our top priorty (albeit this was before Bentley went to Spurs)? Or just squad cover? On Julio Santa Cruz - anything that potentially keeps RSC here longer the better, and he might turn out to be good, does this still put more pressure on Fowler to impress?? Man City - when you were asked whether Roque might go there Nicko you said: a) No money and B ) Other reason - was this that Frank might be selling? Simpson - do you think he'll be our first choice right back? Looks like Emerton has said he doesn't want to play there any more, because in most games he was impressive there last year and now it looks like he is considered a midfielder again.

So your saying there is a price for Cruz, just someones got to match it in order to pay off some of the TRUSTEES debt. Absolutely great i hope some of the dolly dreamers on here realise this.
T4E Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 There will be blue murder if we don't invest some of the Bentley money in at least one good player with a name people recognise. Indeed there will, but we can all see that is where this is going. Why would the trustees put £3m in only to take that and a hell of a lot more back out? The £3m minimum should be spent on players, otherwise why come out publicly and confirm that it had been reinstated? Just sets them up for a fall.

As in the post credit crunch housing market , every club's financial director is awaiting the bottom of the market before investing.
Exiledfan Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Forgive the non-BRFC question, but what's happening at QPR Nicko? The Times report that Dowie is for the chop after just 3 months. Does it centre around the owner selecting the signings? The future at QPR not quite as bright as predicted?
almuncle Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Does the lack of cash at city mean they are having to sell players? Would just love it if we bought one of their stars from Hughes.Any of them fit the bill?
roversmum Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Do you feel a natural affinity with Pendle hill mum? Of course. Please excuse me, I'm just off to polish my broomstick car, going out later
rebelmswar Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Does the lack of cash at city mean they are having to sell players? Would just love it if we bought one of their stars from Hughes.Any of them fit the bill? No, they are unclean and morally stained.
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 ince says he want to keep mokoena for the centre half position. Tribal... http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=105974 nicko. you know anything about the details in simpsons contract? plain loan for the year or something more? i know you said the other day that a lot can happen with loans, like bentley, but it would be nice with details

Tugay 4 England, i asked nicko about the conspiracy theory on the publication of the walker trust putting out this that they are reinvesting in Rovers, nicko never replied to my question, but heres the rumour, this communication was put out so that the fans would blame Ince if things start to go badly wrong rather than the Walker trust, they have their doubts about Paul Inces ability but hes got his chance to prove everyone wrong but on a shoestring budget. Football politics eh!
AJW Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 ince says he want to keep mokoena for the centre half position. Tribal... http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=105974 Dear god no!! he was terrible at the back, he's not much kop in midfield !
JAL Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 JAL, I think you're putting 2 and 2 together and making 5. I know you're saying it's a "rumour" but would you rather have the Trust not put money into the transfer kitty? Shall we stay in the non-investment era? Yes, but did we need all the fanfare about reinvesting in the new manager, maybe Andy Neild could answer this.
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 but heres the rumour, this communication was put out so that the fans would blame Ince if things start to go badly wrong rather than the Walker trust, they have their doubts about Paul Inces ability but hes got his chance to prove everyone wrong but on a shoestring budget. Football politics eh! if that is the case then the trust must be mental. if they dont like ince they should have stepped in and said NO. this can not be true. simple as.
nicko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 The 'Trustees to dig deep for £3 million input' story came out as a response to the story about the latest would-be bidders refusing the meet the Trustees over-valuation of the club. It had nothing to do with the new manager.
JAL Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 if that is the case then the trust must be mental. if they dont like ince they should have stepped in and said NO. this can not be true. simple as. I should have put it, as they have their doubts on Ince blowing all the money.
gazsimm Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I should have put it, as the have there doubts on Ince blowing all the money. Ince is getting the same money then what Hughes would of got if he was still here now Jal, will u stop moaning and get behined Ince and give the guy a chance FFS
