ABBEY Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Hmm, they've nicked Barry from Villa, Santa Cruz from us, maybe Lescott from the Toffees. Looks like to me they're weakening the teams who could possibly challenge them for Europe, by going after their better players. Although that would depend on who Rovers and co spend with the Citeh cash. Bit like we did when we signed shearer DUNCAN!!!!

Neil Weaver Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Bit like we did when we signed shearer DUNCAN!!!! Exactly what I was thinking Abs
ffan Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Apparently Terry is going to City according to this bloke - http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/forum/viewt...10&t=128477
alexanders Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Birmingham have signed the centre-back Espinoza.
philipl Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 Nearly 9 million!! What a total rip of for an overweight average midfielder. If that price is true then Rovers are in for the transfer window from hell this summer.
alexanders Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 If that price is true then Rovers are in for the transfer window from hell this summer. If they are planning on raiding other premier league clubs yes. Apparently Sunderland are also interested in Nikola Zigic.
alexanders Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Henk Ten Cate looks to add Djibril Cisse to his ranks in Phanathinaikos. Djibril Cisse set for Phanatinaikos
Fylde Coast Fan Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 BBC Gossip & Transfers page: 2225 BST:Carlos Tevez's advisor Kia Joorabchian tells Argentine radio station Radio Del Plata that his client is "evaluating proposals" from Manchester City, Chelsea and "one other team" - with a decision to be made in the next 10 days. Does the three club rule still apply when the fibber in question can't even be bothered to make up a name?
Grabbi Graeme Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 SSN reporting that Stoke are in talks with West Hame over Dean Ashton, Stoke must be looking to give their physio's some more work.
The Gull Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 SSN reporting that Stoke are in talks with West Hame over Dean Ashton, Stoke must be looking to give their physio's some more work. Ashton is from the North West so I can see why this may attract him, maybe the lifestyle down in the big smoke doesn't suit him. On his day, IMO, he is one of the best English strikers around and a fit Ashton would be a very good replacement for Santa Cruz.
Grabbi Graeme Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Well that's the thing though a fit Ashton is good player, but there is a big question over his fitness.
DeadlyDirk Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Ashton's a great player and would walk into our team if fit, but that's the problem, he's hardly ever been fit since he came to the premiership. West Ham may accept a knock down price of say 5m or so which could potentially be a good deal but I don't think we can risk that on someone who has such a record of long term injuries. If he goes to Stoke then by sods law he'll probably stay fit all season!
G Somerset Rover Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 How much ruddy money do Big club have?! Big Club sign Johnson That's the third centre back they've signed this summer not to mention Benitez.
67splitscreen Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I wonder where Voronin is off to next. 11 in 20 for Hertha, can't see him sticking around at Liverpool, signed on a bosman two years left on his contract. Big wages i imagine. Sam type??? 29 not had the best of times recently. Desperate to prove
Fylde Coast Fan Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Not sure if this is definitely Other Prem or not, it certainly sounds like one or two of ours. From Popbitch this week: This Premier League star has had a cruel run with injuries. But don't feel too sorry for him, feel sorry for the club that's paid his wages. The previous season was also injury-hit but the star needed his contract renewed. He knew his injury wouldn't hold up to much scrutiny from the medical team so he developed an illness which meant he had to stay away from training just about every other day. He trained, got a bit hurt, but then spent the next day at home with his leg in an ice bath, keeping the swelling down. He just about got through the medical, was awarded a new contract and then rather promptly broke down injured again. Anyone like to have a stab at the identity? Michael Johnson springs to mind.
Hasta Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Apparently we are very close to signing Kevin Doyle Depends on price. I remember him playing in a 3-3 draw at Ewood (last game of the season in 2008 I think) and he was very good. I'm surprised at his lack of impact at Championship level but don't know how fit he's been or how many games he's played. He's got to be better than Bobby Zee
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 it was 4-2 or 4-3 not 3-3 and he scored 2 headers near the end having only just come on.
brfcshabba Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 it was 4-2 or 4-3 not 3-3 and he scored 2 headers near the end having only just come on. The game Hasta was talking about was 3-3. We won 4-2 the season after with Doyle getting two
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Ah fair enough, I thought he meant the 4-2 game.
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Apparently we are very close to signing Kevin Doyle ...means we won't be wasting £6m+ on him!
ffan Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Just saw an interview on Sky Sports News featuring Michael Johnson, hugely overweight for a supposed Premier League footballer. What a sad case.
John Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Good article on Villa below. Onwards and upwards for Villa? - even if a station in the top six suggested consolidation, Villa are now in grave danger of going backwards.
67splitscreen Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 More money for the barcodes to pay out. Looks like Owen won't be signing for anyone for the next month. We may get something out of all this there fitness coaches, I an assume Sam brought them in during his time up there. 80m cut down price.ing
