HemelRover Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Sam Allardyce is aiming to replicate Arsenal's youth success story at Blackburn. Blackburn boss to follow Wenger's policy of investing in youth I knew Roy Keane had wasted big bucks at Sunderland....but £86million!!!! Cripes.

nicko Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Q...When is an 11 o'clocker not an 11 o'clocker? A...When there's not much to tell. Dindane is very much alive for all of the English clubs interested. No idea where that Panthinaikos stuff comes from. It sounds like there are too many agents involved with this one. Piquionne still a possible as well as and not instead of Dindane...interesting. Fulham are in. The price is cheap. Not a daft idea. I think this is going to be quite a lively summer. Nice bag... http://www.handbagdesigner101.com/handbags?finalist=5532

Wilky Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Id like DJ Campbell from Blackpool/Lecister City. What do you guys think of him? Id like DJ Campbell from Blackpool/Lecister City. What do you guys think of him?
American Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Bentley was an untried reserve... I guess I'm imagining that season for Norwich in the Premier League then?

What do you guys think of him? So good you asked twice?! Decent - but not a player we should be looking at if we want to progress. No better than bottom 6 premiership club striker (if that).
Balwer Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Id like DJ Campbell from Blackpool/Lecister City. What do you guys think of him? Id like DJ Campbell from Blackpool/Lecister City. What do you guys think of him? He's good, Charlie Adam is better though (different types of player I know).

nicko Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I guess I'm imagining that season for Norwich in the Premier League then? Bentley was 19 when he went to Norwich.
Lathund Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 We've had experience of Serie B! We've also signed flops from the Premier League, the Championship, Spain, Holland etc. Should we avoid those too? Now most of the time I'd expect a comment like this to be just a little joke, but on this board you never know...
Hughesy Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Nicko - any moves of note happening? Who's your mate Coyle after? How much has Lerner given MON to spend? We still not made any solid moves? Any ideas who our number 1 target is now??
nicko Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Mehmet Topal - linked with Rovers once or twice - is about to sign for Valencia. Nicko - any moves of note happening? Who's your mate Coyle after? THE TWO KIDS FROM REAL MADRID. How much has Lerner given MON to spend? NOT A LOT. We still not made any solid moves? Any ideas who our number 1 target is now?? THE TWO STRIKERS MENTIONED YESTERDAY...THINGS ARE ROLLING...BUT IN A ROVERS-STYLE SLOW PACE
Kelbo Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Id like DJ Campbell from Blackpool/Lecister City. What do you guys think of him? Id like DJ Campbell from Blackpool/Lecister City. What do you guys think of him? Could we take a chance on a chap likely to be in Jail next season???

Any ideas who our number 1 target is now?? THE TWO STRIKERS MENTIONED YESTERDAY...THINGS ARE ROLLING...BUT IN A ROVERS-STYLE SLOW PACE Before everybody get's wound up, I wouldn't read too much into that. Just because Rovers don't reveal all information to the press doesn't mean we are working at a slow pace or not working as hard as others to sign players. The only difference is that we have to be a lot more careful with our finances than others who may just rush in to sign a player ASAP to fill a position rather than weighing up all options available. Rovers may still be keeping an eye on a couple of players that have not entered the media radar as yet, therefore as far as many are concerned if interest in a player is not in the tabloids or on the interweb it does not exist.............. Could we take a chance on a chap likely to be in Jail next season??? Or in fact a player who never did anything the last time Birmingham were in the top flight?
Wilky Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 wow boys... Go easy on me. Like i said i've taken much notice on football this season

Dindane had a medical over a month ago...still not signed... That's slow by anybody's standards.
Majiball Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Dindane had a medical over a month ago...still not signed... That's slow by anybody's standards. Can I ask are you holding any names back?? Dindane and Piquonine surely aren't the only two players we are chasing? Also should we get lumped with one of them are they the seasoned "star" striker we are meant to be after or will there be a another on the radar? Any idea who we maybe after for the midfield berth, if anyone???
Hughesy Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Well yesterday Nicko said something along the lines of Dindane delayed because we wanted our 'big name' striker 1st - which was the Pole, but that has changed.... The question is - changed to who!? Luca Toni?!
unluckymorton Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Dindane had a medical over a month ago...still not signed... That's slow by anybody's standards. He's got other options and his agent will no doubt be touting him for as much money as he can lay his hands on. With teams such as Wolves possibly interested they may be willing to pay an extra 20% in wages and offer him a more attractive package (such as sell on clauses or being free to leave if they are relegated) just to make the signing and take him away from our grasp. With the window being open for a matter of days I wouldn't start panicking. wow boys... Go easy on me. Like i said i've taken much notice on football this season Sorry Wilky

The question is - changed to who!? Luca Toni?! I saw that, but he's off to Dortmund by all acounts. Boreilla (sp) the argie will be a bidding war and we don't stand a chance in one of those, We could offer a few of Nige's Hotpots on top but I'm not convinced they'll go for it. At the end of the day if Sam really wanted Dindane we would have wrapped him up, medical and the such done and so on and yet he's off to Pana. Very strange way to do business. I guess the positive at present is that if we were looking at Dindane and if the price was around 2.5M, then perhaps we've got more to spend than most on here think. I can't believe we would have thought we could get the pole, for much less than £4 million. Whilst I applaud the way we ensure we don't pay over the odds, it does mean that others have plenty of time to nip in and wrap up the deals themselves. I think Luca Toni will go back to Italy and sign for Roma.
RoversSG Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Not sure if this have been posted anyway http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1274698/Premier-League-prize-money-800k-place-Manchester-United-Chelsea-dwarf-rest-50m-cash-jackpot.html By my calculations, that's £35.5m for us even before ticket sales, player sales etc. Even in the worse case scenario, i think that gives us a budget of Finishing 10th instead of 13th (originally £750k per place): £3m 5% increase in prize money: £150k increase in other payment from £13.9m to £14.6m: £700k increase in facility fee: £197k That give us a total of £4m that we did not budget for at the beginning of the season. So our transfer budget should at least be this much.
Roberto Policano Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 We've had experience of Serie B! My god Grabbi Forget all about that,You were the laughing stock in Italy that summer.you over paid for him by about £4 million. One of the worst bits of scouting ever.
