Backroom DE. Posted April 30, 2011 Backroom Posted April 30, 2011 Olsson injured, ffs. Edit: He's back on the pitch, fingers crossed...
Stavros_BRFC Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 thats ridiculous. even God wants us to go down. first hoilett now olsson
Poita Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 thats ridiculous. even God wants us to go down. first hoilett now olsson Not as "ridiculous" as your comment.
Steve Moss Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 thats ridiculous. even God wants us to go down. first hoilett now olsson Please don't say that. Bad enough the refs hate us. Though today's ref seems even keeled so far.
Toodling Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 playing well but emerton is finished as a prem player IMO he's just totally lost it.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Still think this game could go either way as no side really on top/totally dominant. We have the goal but Bolton have had their chances as well. Huge 45 mins coming up.
Andy Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Decent first half, the important part is that we're winning. Phil Jones and Nzonzi have made lots of silly mistakes and misplaced passes - both need to step up in the 2nd half or I can see them capitalising. Samba was clearly despairing of Jones at one point. Olsson looks good, glad he's not injured. Front two look lively without looking much like scoring. No point in changing a winning side, but if Bolton equalise, get MGP and RSC on for Emerton and Roberts.
Stavros_BRFC Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Not as "ridiculous" as your comment. sorry if you disagree but I didnt flame you or anything. I just said my opinion. Oh and thanks for calling me ridiculous, appreciated
moerpho Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Thank god for Olsson and Salgado! But if we are going to win this we need to take off Emerton and Roberts. Really don't care who we put on in their place as it can't get much worse. Great goal by Olsson but anyone else have the feeling that if we had a half-decent striker playing we would be at least 2-0 up? At the moment we are to dependant on Olsson to both create chances and finishing them even though Salgado has put in some good crosses. My nerves are shattered! Pheew...here's hoping for no Bolton goals in 2nd half, that Stoke can beat Blackpool and Everton beat Wigan (not looking good!)
Backroom DE. Posted April 30, 2011 Backroom Posted April 30, 2011 We've shaded the first half, Bolton look quite disjointed and low on confidence - which is to be expected considering their recent results and the injuries they have. Best player in the first half has been Olsson, a genuine threat, probably the only one we really have. Got very worried when he went down injured but it looks like he's going to be alright. Benjani's got a fantastic first touch and has been bringing people into play very well. Emerton, Roberts and N'Zonzi have all been poor. Thankfully Bolton have been so lacklustre it hasn't really mattered. If there's any game Kalinic can get a goal and boost his confidence it's this one, I'd consider throwing him on for Roberts very soon and seeing if he can nick us a goal.
joey_big_nose Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I expected the worst but actually the set up is working really well. Main thing is the ball is coming into and sticking to Benjani and Roberts. They have held it up excellently and lead the line aggressively without dropping back. Kudos to Kean. Without Hoilett I was stumped as to how we could hurt Bolton but we are causing them constant problems. I would like to see Rochina at some point but introducing him could mess with the shape too much and invite pressure....
pick32 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Missing pedersen on set pieces and throws think we should put him on the right and take emerton off we have been on top all match but soon as it goes to Emerton we lose possession. I dont agree with others about Roberts being poor he has won nearly everything robbo has it up top and has been holding up well.
Exiled in Toronto Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Emerton poor but does cover well down their left. N'Zonzi back to his pass the buck sideways/backwards mode. When Olssen looked crocked I thought we were down.
HemelRover Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 sorry if you disagree but I didnt flame you or anything. I just said my opinion. Oh and thanks for calling me ridiculous, appreciated No, he didnt. He gave his opinion that your post was ridiculous. There is a massive difference.
Pinch Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Olsson staying on for the start of the 2nd...thank goodness.
mattyc2422 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I'm not a MB Diouf fan, but I'd be getting him on for Benjani at some point.
Pinch Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Jason Roberts is like an oversized Paul Dickov - all harrying and bustling...w/ less goals.
Montfort Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Just as I was reconciling myself to relegation, practising the stoic outlook of the Romans and the cold face of the monguls, I find that all this has gone out of the window and I am as nervous as a kitten again.
Backroom DE. Posted April 30, 2011 Backroom Posted April 30, 2011 For a "bulldog" Roberts doesn't half fall over easily.
