I hope this is true, 21 is young enough for Rovers to get in his blood. Very good news if you ask me.

I would say if the Venkys PR machine was any good they would have killed the rumor as soon as it appeared.

Would they even be aware of the rumour? I've not seen it anywhere else but on these boards so far.

He ain't worth that.Average player.£4 million tops.

We could surely do better for that sort of money.

interesting that article says about his son moving onto the board in a few years. Does that go someway into denying the for sale rumour?

Also says that money is available as well as the jones money. I reckon we will be looking at around £20million. Which to be fair to the owners is a decent amount of money.

you actually believe these loonies?

Same as that Cisse fella trying to get 1 big pay day off the back of 1 good season. If he was off to a middle eastern club it tells you everything, always avoid that sort.

To be fair, these "loonies" were the only ones willing to buy the club after it was for sale for over 3 years. Based on a lot of posts here it seems that a lot of supporters got exactly the owners they deserve.

Sure I'm the only one, but would be tempted Owen Hargreaves on a short cheap deal.

no you are not, on a pay as you play format, he looked good on you tube cannot see why we do not give him a go

are there any decent players at Racing Santander? They are going into voluntary administration

Racing Santander

Thank god he never took over us. Never seemed to be truthful and this shows he wasnt. Venkys are a blessing compared to him. And to answer the question they dont have any stand out players that i know of. Not since canales left for madrid

Benfica about to sign Witsel from under our noses.....Another one bites the dust

Source - Nicko

Just read it in the portuguese press.

They are reporting that news in Belgium claim Benfica made a €8 million offer for Witsel but Rovers were the first to make a bid of €5 million

Bellers is a decent player, no doubts there. He says he wont take a pay cut to leave man city, unless city pay out his final year, and if thats the case his first choice is back to Cardiff (if its possible for the club)

very good article because it really exposes Man city and the fact they have too many players earning too much.

I would reference this when making a bid.

the problem is as Bellamy has said, the wages are too high which could affect our tempts to sign a player.

He looked good on Youtube? He runs/Jogs around some cones or does some sidesteps on a treadmill.

I would have to see him in a friendly before making him a Rover. His fitness might look ok in some light training but whats he gonna be like when Essien or Lee Cattermole come flying at him in a 50/50?

Glad we didn't sign Witsel no doubt he is a quality player but we cant spend half the proposed budget on a defensive midfielder.

Adebayor-quote from a couple of days ago:

"We have to wait. I’m clear that I want to play for Real Madrid and I will wait until the last day. I am not going to sign for any club until August 31. I will wait for them until the very last day, until 11:00 at night. If by then, Madrid have decided not to buy me, then I will look for another team."

Something we should consider? If we have money left at the end of the window I think we should go for it! And with us he doesnt have to move from Manchester as well, so who knows?

Yeah, the guy may have attitude-problems but he is a good striker and if we would have a chance we should go for it.

How can we be trying to make a profit on niko??

If a club really is offering us £4m we should snap their hands off!!

I think you're right..he's done little here to suggest he'd go for a profit but I'd like to see us at least get our money back.

The thing I dont like about him (in our team) is that often he refuses to put a shift in. This is why many Arsenal fans didnt like him. In our team where you sometimes have to create your own chances due to a team of defensive players you just wont score if you dont muck in so to speak. This is the very same reason Santa failed to spark last year because he didnt have Bentley putting the ball straight at him.

I do think having a team with Bentley/Santa and Ady in would work out well for all 3 of them

He has also said he is not coming to Rovers as Rovers can't win anything.

Which is funny coming from a man who's arrival at Arsenal coincided with their trophyless streak and who only saw his club Man City win something whilst he was away on loan.

I don't buy his excuse at all. Won't take a pay cut because of his charity? Because he has to take care of 13 children in Sierra Leone apparently. Come off it- in a poor country like that, how much can it really cost to take care of 13 kids and teach them a bit of football? Nonsense, couple of weeks wages for him would take care of it for the year. Just admit it's about cash for you Craig.

We shouldn't sell. Only decent defensive mid we own. I'm sure some here would say they'd snap their hands off at £5 mill or something, but I strongly suspect his stock will be a lot stronger again after this season. You sell your stock when it's rated high, not when it dips.
