Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 We've got a local derby against Poland.
Hughesy Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Can anyone tell me how tickets for Brazil 2014 work? Would I be in a better position to get some if I attended some of the qualifiers and joined the club England member thingy??
CheeseOnToast Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 NOT a good draw for Scotland No, and I think that Belgium is looking far better than they're rank suggests. They've had a strong defence, but now with Fellaini, Hazard and Lukaku, I could see Belgium making a serious run in the World Cup.
Ricky Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 You would have been better off joining a few years ago Hughesy. I was in englandfans in the build up to euro2008 and didn't renew after we didn't qualify. The problem is that you will struggle to get a ticket for an away game with England as there are more members than tickets so tickets go to fans with the most caps. Doing home qualifiers and friendlies only won't guarantee you a single ticket for the world cup. You probably have a better chance of just waiting until the world cup tickets go on general sale and applying directly. I did this for euro 2004. Chose games before the teams had even qualified and ended up with England v France and Germany v Holland for £20 per ticket.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I agree with Ricky. I did exactly what you said Hughesy and got zero tickets for major games for the Euro tournaments and the World Cup in Germany. There are so many people who buy England away tickets just to earn extra 'caps', even if they don't actually attend the game, so unless you spend ridiculous amounts of money, you'll have hardly any chance of getting guaranteed tickets. Just apply when they go on sale to the general public.

Backroom Tom Posted July 31, 2011 Backroom Posted July 31, 2011 I have zero interest in this. We'll qualify as we should and then be subject to the press talking about how it's our year and see little flags on cars for a week or two before going out meekly to a much better side. No doubt I'll get suckered into the hype at some stage though

And isn't Poland a mandatory fixture now LOL As for England, we'll get to the quarters until we are brought down to earth by a team that can pass the ball and keep it. Scotland and Wales are also doomed. Belgium will top that Group.

Barring a disaster, the qualifiers are just a formality before another summer of unbridled hype and '66 nostalgia.

They should be a formality yet a huge deal will be made when we do get through The last world cup just did me I think, all the build up all the hype and then that.
roverandout Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 watching england will be like watching rovers this season, all huff and no puff only england actually have some talented players. Oh and some deluded fans who think the team will do well.
