alexanders Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Thank for the info Kamy. I am really clutching at straws, but your info in addition to adopted scouser's info from somebody inside Fulham gives me hope!

chris Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Yesterday Roverinsider posted on twitter that there was going to be a conference call to India this morning. Looks like that bit of his information was right , this is an “unscheduled meeting”. However, I would still be surprised if Kean got sacked, but it could be a interesting day. Are Venkys thinking "this guy is not who he said he was?" At what point do Venkys start thinking he is positive but is that it Getting super embarrassing for Venkys and Kean gives them the same crap each visit, he has no C.V. to back his positive claims. I hope they saw the 99% against banner.

I'd love for him to be sacked on his skype meeting. It would be better though to fly him all the way over and then sack him so hes got a long distance flight to get back to reality and line up at the dole queue. Ive never hated anyone before, but I really hate that bald, arrogant, deluded ####.

Ah, lets hope for some good news! I mean, if Venkys are smart business people, they must surely be starting to realise the troubles we are in, and if they dont act, their "investment" will go down the drain! Since India we have played two games, QPR away and Spurs at home. Two matches that we could have gotten 6 points from (well, with another manager in charge that is). Instead we sit here with only 1 point, and its not looking good. Lets hope the owners have finally woken up!
Stevo Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Until this guy goes, then I - and I believe many others - will just feel that this is no longer my football team. I so badly hope something happens, but day by day and match by match, that hope withers away and turns into apathy - which is not good at all for the wellbeing of the club.
LeChuck Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I've pretty much resigned to him staying for foreseeable future now. No idea why he's worked himself into this position, but I've come to accept it. Let's hope he learned a few things from yesterday - things that, if he'd realised them sooner, may have given us a fighting chance of avoiding the drop: - Salgado and Givet are awful full backs - Lowe and Olsson need to be first choice - Even Pedersen is a massive improvement on the anonymous Petrovic - Givet is a centre back - We score most of our goals from set pieces, so try and play to that strength Maybe, just maybe, we've started to get an idea of what the best eleven should look like, because nobody seems to have had a clue all season. Robinson Lowe Samba Givet Olsson N'Zonzi Pedersen Vukcevic ????? Hoilett ABR* *Anyone But Roberts The formation can change depending on who fills the role where the question marks are. Formica, despite his goal, was fairly anonymous again. He works hard and looks dangerous if he gets a chance, but doesn't contribute much to overall play, which is a bit of an issue when you're in the playmaker position. Pedersen gets that midfield slot by default with Lowe at right back - Dunn is too injury prone to rely on and Petrovic isn't ready yet. I thought Peds was MOM yesterday, he deserves a run in the team. Rochina is a good wildcard sub and will be a starter when his decision making improves. Olsson showed what a proper left back should look like, contributing at both ends of the field. His defending is really improving, he's got great tenacity and showed excellent position awareness to prevent Adebayor being through on goal in the first half. His overlapping allows Hoilett the freedom to drift from his starting position on the left as well. Givet, being left sided, offers natural balance in the middle, especially when covering Olsson's forward runs. That means Dann becomes an expensive sub until his performances improve.
SouthAussieRover Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I log on here each day hoping to see a news article reporting Kean's departure. What the (Please don't use that word again) will it take to remove this joke of a manager?

What the (Please don't use that word again) will it take to remove this joke of a manager? Me too, Don. How about, when (for it surely will) We meet half way (Maybe Melbourne or Mildura), find a pub and get p!ssed together, just to celebrate. I realise it might be to late to stay in the prem, but I'll enjoy the grog.
Brad Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Just watched a replay of the game on Sunday and paid close attention to kean.. His facial expressions say it all, Very very worried man.. He's got a lot of positive talking to do.. And as Mrs D would say, he's such a positive person.. Surely this ###### has to be wearing thin..
rog of the rovers Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 If Kean is sacked before the Norwich game then surely someone must be lined up to replace him, otherwise we are merely making the task even more difficult than it already is. Who would you prefer to be in charge at Norwich? Kean or Clement/Brunskill? Probably a pointless question on here as people will say "Anyone is better than Kean!" but in my opinion, if Venkys are thinking of getting rid of Kean a replacement needs to be lined up to take charge A.S.A.P.
Mattyblue Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Kean is no better qualified than the other two to manage a football team, so if they caretake for a game then so be it. (visions of Kean the 'Caretaker' against West Ham. *shudder*)
LeChuck Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Who would you prefer to be in charge at Norwich? Kean or Clement/Brunskill? Why is Kean any better than those two? All three are coaches and not managers. Maybe the improved Spurs performance was down to Clement, who knows? I don't understand what you think could get worse by putting Clement/Brunksill in charge for a game or two. Getting Kean out immediately has to be the absolute priority, I don't know why you'd want to invent obstacles to that decision. We've hit rock bottom, we can't get any lower than where we are now.
alexanders Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Getting Kean out will lift the whole place, fanbase, players etc

onlyonejackwalker Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Is he still employed at the club? Amazing! What will it take for someone in charge to wake up and realise what the rest of us knew 10 long months ago? Kean is clearly not qualified to manage our club and is so far out of his depth it is both comical and ridiculous in equal measure. Maybe we need to start believing what the owners are saying in that Kean is staying for the foreseeable. If he can survive these results for this long, there is no reason to think anything will change anytime soon. Kean needs removing. Venky's need brain surgery. Unite the fans, remove Kean. We want our Rovers back.

As usual, you are very sensible Rog. If Venkys want to restore fan morale, then a double announcement of "Kean sacked and ______ installed as his replacement" would do it, so long as "______" has a history of being a competent, experienced manager. That said, I would take a care taker manager pending the paperwork being sorted. Is Tony Parkes available on a short term basis?
chaddyrovers Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I would accept Clement/Brunskill for the Cup Game on Wednesday and Norwich Away as long as the Manager was in place for the Chelsea game.

I would quite happily have Samba pick the team and lay out the tactics while a new manager is found. My main concern is that if he won he may be appointed player/manager.

My main concern is that if he won he may be appointed player/manager. Ryan Nelsen would be the standout choice, surely? He is studying towards his coaching badges and his playing time is coming to an end. There would be far less conflict as Nelsen doesn't appear in our best eleven, Samba would have to juggle responsibilities and appointing a 27 year old manager would open us up to even more ridicule. Nelsen is a dignified and intelligent man who obviously has the respect of his peers. I can't imagine there is a Rovers fan who doesn't like him.
mattyc2422 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Melbourne would be my choice. Terrific idea.

While I agree with you, I could not care less who or what it was, for the interim, if that smiling, twitching, abortion is removed from the vicinity.
