G Somerset Rover Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Daily Star saying Kean must beat Liverpool and Man Utd to save his job. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/226731/Beat-Man-U-or-you-re-out/ That story is absolute rollocks. If we haven't been able to beat Sunderland, West Brom or Bolton in our 'winnable' run then the owners know full well that we're going to get whacked here. Desai is a spineless bint.

JWUpper Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Maybe they're waiting for us to get absolutely mauled against united to sack him? Be quite poetic/ironic for venkys after the way Allardyce was sacked...
Stuart Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Daily Star saying Kean must beat Liverpool and Man Utd to save his job. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/226731/Beat-Man-U-or-you-re-out/ At one time Kean would have taken the positives and looked forward to the challenge of overcoming these two in back to back matches. Surely he can no longer be so cock sure as to have said he can still win? As long as he doesn't have a fit, first choice back four he's absolving responsibility anyway. If he's ever taken any responsibility. And another thing, we keep hearing from PL managers that he's doing a good job (for them). I'd love to hear from an out of work manager, they must be fuming!
imy9 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 He is NOT getting sacked. I am quite comfortable with this thought now as only rock bottom will ensure Venkys leave us alone. We can then get on with rebuilding our club. I hope the trust are satisfied with their 12 pieces of silver.
Kamy100 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 The reports in the various newspapers are correct, basically everyone (including the brothers) want Kean, however the key person Mrs D is dithering. Yesterday advisors spent the whole day trying to convince her to sack him and by the sound of things more talks will take place today. If Kean survives today then I am sure that he will be incharge for the next three games.
imy9 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 At least if talks are going on for another day then there is a chance. Mrs D is simply stubborn and does not want to be seen as bowing down to fans, what a way to do business!
broadsword Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 "I'm in charge" *Whilst all around me falls to pieces.
gazsimm Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 today is the day then hopefully. Looks like the pressure is on her lets hope she wakes up and does the right thing for the club and thats to sack kean and F--- off too!!
Kamy100 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Mrs D is simply stubborn and does not want to be seen as bowing down to fans, what a way to do business! I also think that the friendship that she has developed with Kean and his wife is clouding her professional judgement. The situation is completely ridiculous, literally EVERYONE is telling her to sack Kean yet she continues to dither. It is truly bizarre what is going on and yet another example of idiotic decision making from the owners.
Bluefudge Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Will someone at the club just say 'Kean resign, and to save face we will quietly pay comp !!!!!!!!!' She saves face He gets cash Simple !!!!!!!!!
Stuart Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I also think that the friendship that she has developed with Kean and his wife is clouding her professional judgement. Isn't that rule 101 of owning a business??

bestierover Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Have a little more patience lads. If not announced by tea time today, then that should tell us that it is unlikely in the extreme.

I can't see how anybody on our board right now doesn't just resign, being undermined like this on a continued basis is a joke and only out done by the fact they sit there and take it.

I still fail to see how a woman who only watched her first ever game of football a little over a year ago, seems to think she has any creditable judgement on how the manager of a football team is performing. If she has become best mates with The Keans, surely she should be removed from making the important decisions for the club because as Kamy100 rightly says, it is now clouding her judgement. His record is abysmal, the team are not performing, we have just been beaten by bottom of the league at home, we are now bottom, 20th at christmas means only 1 thing. And yet the stupid woman continues to dither. The evidence is there and continues to build, he is not cut out for management. Is there no way there she can be over ruled if EVERYONE is telling her to sack him? There must be some way of a mutiny?
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Am I the only one thinking the real reason is wonga?!! If they sack him he will end up with a nice pay off. Plus who is going to pay for someone of a good level? Ie. Hughes? Etc.

Easy way out for the old hag, speak to Kean, say resign and we'll pay your contract up, then she doesnt have to sack him, Kean gets the cash and saves a bit of face!!
Pelio Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 So what is the point of the board and these advisors if Mrs D doesn't listen to what they are telling her?? If its really down to the fact that her 'friendship' with Steve Kean is so strong, or/and that she doesn't want to speand any money on sacking & replacing Kean - then all protests and blame must be directed at her. Forget Kean, yes he is major reason to why we are in the position we are in, but SHE put him there, SHE backs him game after game and SHE'S the one who is crippling this club... If she really cares for club (or perhaps I should say her image and reputation), then sell up and admit SHE'S made a mistake...
Taggart Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Easy way out for the old hag, speak to Kean, say resign and we'll pay your contract up, then she doesnt have to sack him, Kean gets the cash and saves a bit of face!! Thats what I thought as well - a golden handshake of some sort...............
