Joseph and Higgins still eligible for u17s 😄

Eligibility for age groups depends on the age they were on 1st Jan.  Both were 17 or under on 1st Jan

Joseph turns 18 in the summer

Higgins turned 17 last month

Haven't seen the team, just the goal scorers, Tyjon would also have been eligible, turns 18 in March.  Not sure if he played

I think you are also allowed to play a couple of under 21 players or something like that aren't you? Unless they changed that.

Honor GK signed for Manchester United.

That's a surprise...I thought he was fairly highly rated by some on here, though not so much I was anticipating Prem clubs stealing him. I assume we must have received a fee for that.

You would hope so. I watched him a couple of times in the 21s and his size and presence always impressed me. Looked huge. Can see it's confirmed here:

And yet for most of the season, they have been playing Kahn

Mental!

'To a Premier League club'

Fucking hell, not only are the transfer fees all undisclosed these days, we're not even disclosing what club they've moved to! 🤣

An absolutely bizarre thing to write. Are they trying to keep it a secret? A quick Google shows exactly where he's gone.

Even stranger, Man Utd haven't yet written a word about it on their site or socials

It makes you wonder if it is at Man Utds request that they have not been named given they haven't yet announced it?

Its all very cloak & dagger, which seems very strange for the transfer of a youth team keeper

Match report from U17s semi final win

team Rovers put out is below (those in bold are from our U16s)

         Vare        Ball

Higgins     Lister    McCoy

Subs - Wolsoncroft, Nosegbe, Walls, Flynn, Clanford

I would like to highlight that West Brom had a wonderfully named player on the scoresheet, Justin Seven-Seven

🤣 seems a bit inane to double barrel using the exact same name! Does sound amusingly like somebody reporting a 14 goal thriller though.

That just show how expensive it must be to run teams at this level. I think it’s paying off up to a point. What sours it for me is when the lads you’ve invested a lot of time and money in swan off to other clubs and we get next to nothing back.

Indeed, Rovers are not innocent in this though

Eze came here from Accrington just over a year ago, Tyjon himself was poached from Rochdale a year before that

Yes you’re right, but something needs to be done about that situation.

Completely agree

I assume banning youth moves completely would be against some sort of law anyway, and would probably go too far in favour of the clubs.

The only thing I can possibly think of though is having a huge weighting (starting at 50%) in favour of the team who has been poached from in terms of a sell on fee

Anyone below 16 shouldn't be allowed to be poached and then as you say. performance related and transfer related. Would be good to see the FA give a sum of money i.e. £100k once they get their first cap. would be huge for some of the smaller clubs who get their once in a decade talents poached.

The club poaching the player should have to pay a fee. The FA could set up a body to adjudicate the amount.
