T J Hooker
it really is a bit of a hidden gem for dog walking through there and I only live minutes away, you've got a few open areas for letting the dogs run about, wooded areas for them to have a good nosy around in, lots of little trails going through the woods so you can mix up your route a lot, there's the river at the bottom that has some nice calm bits for paddling(once you find a way to get to them) never seen kids on motor bikes when I'm around there, recently there's been groups of kids making really cool sculptures and stuff all around the place just using branches and whatever's laying around, generally there's never many people around, just the odd dog walker and jogger, some parts of the ewood side are a bit of a litter filled mess though. Andyblue2
I used to have an assault course on there and of course it's a great ratting and rabbit area. me and my mate used to take his dog on there catching rabbits....
T J Hooker
Hhmmm, that might explain why, there's relatively few rabbits up there, or wild life of any kind.tutut.(just my personal opinion mind)
Andyblue2
Ha ha, our minor successes wouldn't have had much effect on the population, especially rabbits, and it's 25 years ago now since.
Gav
Used to be a glue sniffers paradise when I was a kid. You took your life into your own hands if you wondered around their in 70's.
T J Hooker
Is clue sniffing still a thing? You can prpbably buy a 6pack of superstrength beer or cider + some actual drugs for the price of a strong glue.

T J Hooker
Brucie is going to spend the afternoon at the home of his potential adopters tomorrow, after impressing at his 1st meet & walk with the couple(and their dog) on Monday evening, fingers crossed it goes smoothly as they're a very nice healthy retired couple whose home sounds like a doggy paradise(fairly secluded house out in the country surrounded by fieldsNsuch) his biggest tests are going to be how he gets on with their old pooch and how he reacts with the hens and sheep they have wandering about around their gardens & fields
Gav
In the interests of fair play has Brucie settled with his adopters TJ? Genuinely interested, not taking the @#/? I assure you.
LDRover
Used to be a glue sniffers paradise when I was a kid. You took your life into your own hands if you wondered around their in 70's. Being a Lower Darrener and living on Swan Farm Close at the time it was always a bit tasty with the Higher Croft lads (HDS) as a kid. Never saw the glue sniffers but it was the mid 80s when we used to frequent there so they'd probably moved on then, always thought that went on around the shops and at the 'Kaleidy'. Rough place higher croft in 70's and 80's, one disgraced terrace 'legend' came from that area as did a few others from the same era. Chatting the other night about rough estates and we came to the conclusion you'll be hard pressed to find a rougher place than Roman Rd/higher croft in the 70's and 80's. Yes you could say moss side and you'd be right, but we're talking comparable places.

Funnily enough a lot of the lads from that side of the divide are good mates now. I lived on Swan Farm Close for 20+ years! No doubt we'll know each other then, I moved out in the mid 90s, you?
