And people say I lacked empathy and don't understand the situation..feck me guys I just give it. It rock the football world especially here anc Portugal  Just woah.

It was few TV games announcements at the end of the day, nothing ground breaking or nothing could be announced the day after this tragic death

You are quite right Mattyblue. There is neither respect nor disrespect in simple procedural actions being undertaken in line with published schedules, regardless of the demise in whatever circumstances of another overpaid young male who has managed to Darwinise themselves using a ridiculously powerful vehicle being driven in haste to achieve an unreasonable objective.

What a waste.

But life goes on.

Yet again, why not some respect, empathy and understanding of the Jota's tragic death situation instead obsessing over possible couple of fixtures changes that will affects weeks in advance. It was one day delay. Oh my god, the world will end cos Matty doesn't know when a couple of fixtures will be change in the opening rounds of fixtures

EFL and Sky wanted to show some compassion, empathy and moral understanding of how the football community felt over the tragic death of Jota. How do you not get that leaves me speechless now.

Did moving the Hull game affect your plans to attend that game? Or would you still watch at home anyway regardless of kick off time

Already told you, Matty wasn’t arsed either way, I was merely curious to why it was disrespectful to post some fixtures on the EFL website, so asking what I thought was a fairly simple question  - you have chosen not to answer, but instead, as always, you deflect and start going on about something else entirely.

Tell you what, you’d fit right in as a guest on the Sunday politics shows.

Agree with your first point. There is too much performative 'grief' over deaths such as these. Seemed to all start with Princess Diana. People die all the time and life goes on.

However, to then launch an offensive take on the individual's death is out of order - and undermines the totally reasonable point of view you started with. FFS the car had a tyre blow out. From what I've read that's all we know for certain. Having experienced one of those myself at 70mph I was bloody lucky that nothing hit me as I span across two lanes and into the central barrier.

Do I think players today are overpaid and not sensible with that money? In many cases yes...but someone's death is possibly not the best time to make that point?

Who decided on the day would be disrespectful but 24 hours later is fine??

My dad died the night before our first match of the season. I agreed with my family to go as we all knew that is what he would have wanted. I couldn't face sitting in my usual seat that day as too raw but at half time I went to see the regulars to let them know.

Maybe I should have asked the club to postpone the match instead?

In the Jota situation I wouldn't have expected Liverpool or Portugal to play the next day. But, other than that, marks of respect expressed and then carry on.

I did answer it but you won't accept the answer Matty but with you not arsed either way, it just shows what a waste of time discussing it.

You didn’t, but thanks for joining us, minister.

I did but you didn't like the answer and you won't accept it. Its yourself one minute moaning that the TV selections haven't been announce and that next minute, I'm not assed anyway so what the exact point of all this discussion was utter pointless Matty!

I presume had the EFL published their TV selections the day prior, he would have been fuming with how insensitive it was.

Or maybe not.

fuming? There is far more important issues going on to be fuming about in this world then this one

Chaddy, I've read through the last few pages and I can't see the answer to this perfectly reasonable question? So please point me to it if you have.

Why would it be disrespectful to post some TV fixtures on the EFL website?

Please answer the question.

Why would it be disrespectful to post a fixture list on a website?

I have said all I have this issue after the pointless discussion with Matty then says he wasn't assed in the first place so what's the point anyone.

I have posted my reasons on this and I have it was 24 hours delay in not announcing it. Could you not wait that long after Jota's tragic death. Like showing compassion, empathy and understanding of the Tragic death of Jota, do you think it would have been appropriate for Sky Sports to announce the TV games during that?

I will leave there on this

As always, you are being the politician and not answering the question asked. Nobody is saying Sky should have had a load of razzmatazz about it on SSN. So we’ll ask again;

why would it be disrespectful for the EFL to publish a list of fixtures on their website?

(please answer that very specific question and not deflect going on about Sky, how impatient Matty couldn’t wait a day or whatever else)

I have answered your question several times Matty but YOU refusal to answer it. EFL clubs decided not to announce in the wake of Jota's tragic death.

What don't you get? zero compassion, empathy and understanding from yourself Matty

Matty has admitted he wasn't assed so what's the point of this discussion is utter pointless.

Chaddy

The death of Jota and his brother at such a young age was a tragedy, that is beyond question. It is unimaginable how their mother must be feeling right now.

However, there are on average five to six road deaths, and many more life changing injuries, on UK roads alone every single day. The fact is, these deaths have no impact whatsoever on any aspect of everyday life, except for the family and friends of those involved.

Why should Jota be any different?

There you go. I admire it to be fair… all without media training too.

I like how you’re being accused of a lack of compassion by the same person who thinks Newcastle’s owners should only be judged on their running of the club.

‘I mean it’s been since 1992 that they’ve been moving Saudi league fixtures so they can  behead people on the pitch, so get over it’… wait, hang on, think I’ve mixed that up with something else, so much hypocrisy, I get confused.
