That's another 10k a weeker being replaced by a 5/6k'er.

We'll probably lose out in summer if other Clubs are interested by then anyway.

Don't know this player from Adam but if you're confident he's the one for you it seems bizarre to me you'd risk losing him for the sake of £1m.

Maybe they were trying to flog Sonny first but had no takers or he refused to budge till summer.

Do we think Gestede watched Moneyball and thought he was Brad Pitt, not realising the A's never won anything, and he's an exec in football not baseball?

Or did he write his work experience essay on Brighton and figured he is smarter than everyone else in football?

100% that's it imo

These idiots seem to  think they can extract extra value by signing players from obscure European Leagues, (many of whom whose Clubs have just been relegated) and/or by signing players who are either not match fit or injured.

There must be a reason why no-one in the Championship has attempted it before!

I still can’t believe anyone could justify selling all our proven Championship players and replacing them so badly.

What on earth were they thinking?

We should be demanding answers on a daily basis, because it just doesn’t make any sense.

All money driven. This lot are much cheaper, and thats all anyone is bothered about at this club.

As said many times, its all about getting a side out on the pitch as cheaply as possible.

If football results drop because of that, who cares? They aren't the priority.

Id imagine the plan is or was to retain Championship status whilst getting a side out on the pitch as cheaply as possible.

They're going to come a right cropper financially if we go down.

i have to admit,i thought we`de be comfy in the bottom half this season with 5/6 teams worse than us,losing carter for half a season and selling hyam on the last day of the window has pretty much sealed our fate, signing 3 puddings in deneve, sidnei and henrikson has`nt helped either,if there is any merit in us getting relegated,i think gestede will get the boot, someone will have to take the blame and it won`t be pasha, hell, venkys might even think **** this, lets get rid of the club, even if they do a chansiri and have us in administration it would be a better option than leaving us all in chicken purgatory

It has to be the case they want to be as a cheap a Championship club as possible, L1 is too big a drop in revenue. If all they cared about was costs and not incomings they would have sold us years ago. Whatever they are up to presumably relies on Championship revenue.

Are they? Although income will go down, the wage budget which is currently in excess of total income will come down considerably with in contract wage cuts and the inevitable shedding of big earners.
